I've been looking for a belt that feels secure and actually properly fits me for some time, and this looks like the perfect one! Any recommendations for acquiring one in Canada? It seems like until Varu carries it, or possibly Lamnia, I'm just SOL. Also, thanks for the content. As someone who doesn't have much time for UA-cam anymore, its nice to open it up and have useful videos about something I care about from someone who's down to earth.
I'm here for folks like you and me my friend, have to pick and use time wisely these days. And there's no sense getting too crazy with it when you don't have to As for Canadian shipping, I'm not too sure on that right now. There are a few really cool things cooking in the background that are taking up the extra time and energy at both companies. But, everyone is tracking the needs and wants, it's all about logistics at this point.
I love the Savotta G-Hook Belt! 😀But the measurement or finding the right size isn't that easy 🙃. I ordered the belts one size to large because of my misunderstanding of the sizing guide. One smaller size would have been the right one so I had to shorten the belt a little bit. But anyway: Thank you for the very good explanation how to find the right size 🙂
Yeah I was a little confused there for a moment before I really picked up what they were saying. That's why I wanted to pop in with this real fast guide after I got fully used to wearing the belt. I wanted to give it a little time though just in case I ran into anything else worth mentioning
Hi Tim, I've watched a few of your videos but haven't had the chance to check out youtube recently. I was wondering since you had a first responder belt setup with all sorts of nice savotta pouches on it, have you had the pleasure (or rather the displeasure) of using it during the disaster relief that you were doing some months ago?
I took time away from that so I could be home with the new baby, but I keep my kits ready just in case anything happens. I have still gone out a few times, but only dealing with environmental catastrophes
First! Actually very helpful, I imagine there is going to be a lot of mistaken purchases for people in between sizes on these. The result of some DMs with a fella who bought the wrong size: He and I are a ~90cm waist, so in between sizes. He bought a 90-100 but it didn't fit and said the 80-90 was much better. So it seems being a 90cm waist is actually in the middle of the 80-90 size... interesting! Do you reckon we can just keep any loose tab with one of the elastic strap keepers?
These belts were not originally planned for sale. They were just belts that they made for themselves at work so that they could have a good, comfortable and low profile belt to wear while testing or wearing gear that had hip belts. They served perfect for this purpose, so after a few years of in-house love they decided to supply them to us as well. I gave a little bit too much answer here but it's for other folks to read too
Thanks for this video Tim, needed help on this!
Such a brilliant design. Thanks for the sizing tip!

Hey! Love this video, might I ask where you bought your belt from? I'm in the UK and unfortunately dont want to spend way more than I need too
There is a list of retailers selling their products on the savotta website

I think that elastic strap keeper idea would work great actually, quite possibly the thinnest "hardware" solution you could find
@@Tim_Keys For any in-betweeners onlooking, Tim came though and tried this mod for us; it works well! Handy intel!
Hello Awesome !
The closing system is weird. why not just some 40 mm strap and a buckle

@@Tim_Keys Thanks! If they needed it as thin as possible, this makes sense
