What do you think are the worst items at Taco Bell?
MEXICAN PIZZA. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮Anything with steak, and I never eat their eggs or guacamole.
freeze dried bean flakes are an extremely healthy and easy food, its actually amazing. they are not cheap either around 8 dollars a pound, but it is a perfect food similar to the speed of ramen to make a burrito or bean taco etc and better than canned imo bc canned beans have a lot of liquid in there that gives gas that needs to be rinsed, then cooked for 20 min and the texture can be too thick on the skins or dissolving if overcooked, the freeze dried flakes are almost foolproof and make a great result, i add a bunch of hot sauce, salsa into the boiling water with cilantro etc and then pop it in the oven on low to infuse with all the flavor
I was about to say. They kept on trying to make the beans sound bad, but adding water to hydrate food isn't a out of place way to prepare something.
I've always felt that Taco Bell really only has about nine core ingredients and they just put them together in dozens of different ways to create their menu items. 🤷
That's pretty much true of most Mexican restaurants.

Well, I'd say this is true for a lot of places tbh.
Where I live, there are 5 Taco Bell locations, and one of them consistently serves the best Taco Bell food I've had. Last night there I got a chicken enchilada burrito with guac, creamy jalapeno sauce and tortilla strips, and it was absolutely delicious. Beefy 5-layer burrito, grilled, with onions and chipotle sauce slaps super hard too.
I use to work at Taco bell they need to been back the cheese chili burrito and the Taco salad back
So basically nothing at Taco Bell is any good? Whatever. I have never gotten sick from their food. I will continue to eat there.
It's OK, maybe not great It's just fine for on the go food, I'd choose it over burgers and fries any day, but I can make anything they serve, 10 times better at home. Of course, that ain't cheap. Their steak is more gristle than anything, they were right about that.
Yes, morning or around 4pm. Those are the shift changes. Thats why the quality might be better

Totally agree. My trips to Taco Bell have been sliced by more than half since they got rid of that. That was my go-to.

I get the Doritos Locos Tacos, The Potato Soft Taco, and Nacho Fries (I just don't eat the Nacho cheese. I put Fire sauce on them). Past 8pm the quality of the food goes down drastically. Taco Bell's prices have gone up so much that i stopped going all together. The food just is not worth how much you pay.
I worked at Taco Bell way back in the day, way way back,lol. I remember the beans being regular beans boiling on a gas stove in a vat, I guess you would call it, e would like mash them, and whip them. I don’t remember like frying them, just mashing, whipping them. Back in the olden days the food was real. Taco, burrito, enchirito and bell burger? That was your menu.

I’m not a vegan but when I hit up TB I usually will get a Black Bean Chalupa and a Spicy Potato Soft Taco. Those do not make me sprint for the toilet after eating.

Some of those 'former employees' might also have a grudge to the restaurant. Also, 1 claiming to be a former employee. How do anyone know if that 1 former employee even worked at Taco Bell? It the 'former employee' can not give their name, then why should I trust that person?

To be fair, a lot of that sounds like teenagers who have no restaurant experience, and bad management. Really. A lot of this sounds like franchise-specific problems.
The steak definitely stayed around longer. And with the newer lines that don't operate by heating water everything dries out much faster.
I worked at Taco Bell, yes the refried beans are dehydrated in a bag. Add water and let sit on the steamer is true. They have a range where they are decent at best. Too early they are soup too late they get thick and dry and start reverting back to their bag state.
I used to eat at Taco Bell many years ago, but my last two experiences … their “photo shopped” advertising was vastly different from the garbage they actually serve - never again. Same goes for McDonalds and Dairy Queen and all other fast food chains. They’re all literally the worst thing you can put in your body!

If you eat any green leafy veggies you are eating cellulose. Cellulose is plant matter and yes in wood but guess what wood is.
There have been many times, among 3 different locations, where the Mexican pizza tastes like cleaner/sanitizer. So disappointing when I’m really craving that; has happened so often that I get backup burritos/tacos in case it’s no good!
Could be that the heating cabinets smell like chemicals, and they didn't follow proper procedures to clean them. This will make the smell noticeable in everything they put in the cabinet. Twists, chips, shells.

Literally.... every item mentioned by alleged former employees that you shouldn't eat... are things I already found to be disgusting and do not go to Taco Bell looking for them. I guess that means my taste buds are on point.
Several years ago Taco Bell released a specialty item that was a steak flatbread sandwich. I believe it was released somewhere between 2010 and 2014.... it wasn't a small $2 item.... and it didn't stay very long.
At the time I was in my early twenties.... I had been eating Taco Bell for years.... but my family didn't have a lot of money..... so typically when I was growing up.... ordering the steak was not an option when going to Taco Bell with my father.
So when the steak flatbread came out and I was living on my own..... it looked delicious. Oh boy was I wrong! Anything with Taco Bell steak is absolutely disgusting! After trying that flatbread.... I steered clear of anything Taco Bell steak related. However... curiosity got to me recently when the grilled cheese dipping taco was released. Decided I would go ahead and give it a shot.... didn't even make it more than two bites..... disgusting flavorless steak that even the dipping sauces couldn't make taste good. Yuck!

@SarahDolittle you mean shredded beef for the dipping tacos? That LTO item is over and shredded beef has been depleted. As one who deals with the truck orders, I haven't seen anything about shredded chicken. Although I miss the shredded chicken, I don't think it's coming back.

It’s just freeze dried beans. It’s no big deal 😐 it’s freeze dried to give it a lighter ship weight and a longer shelf life. They’re fine
Worst to me is cheesy roll-up. Just nacho cheese in a tortilla. It's the spaghetti-os of Taco Bell in my opinion. Only good for small kids

Of course you're going to hear from "ex employees" talking bad about a place they no longer work at. The bags of beans and or taco meat are cooked via sous vide (look up the term if you don't know it) some 5 star restaurants use that method. Taco Bell isn't a regular type of restaurant where nearly everything is made on site. In order to keep everything consistent and grt the food to the customer as fast as they can (hence fast food) franchises get sent product to them from corporate distribution centers so DUH what do you expect?
The only thing I really like at Taco Bell is the burrito supreme although I will order a quesadilla once in a while

This just goes to show you that you can really make any fast food item better at home, and usually it’ll be cheaper. It might not be cheaper depending on the quality of ingredients you use, but I’d rather make an amazing Mexican Pizza at home, with better ingredients, rather than risk it at a TB, since learning about all of these behind the scenes secrets from this video.
I like the refried beans. I have always known how they are made. They used to make the beans in a pressure cooker, but several were mishandled, and exploded. I used to eat at 2 different stores, in 2 different states that blew up. It is a safety issue. I like them in a plain burrito, with lettuce only. I dress it with “Hot” sauce. 3:44 As to the employee whom was “discolored” by hot nacho cheese was actually burned. How could they not get that? The “discoloration” is a shallow scar. Duh. 6:07 I loved the Rolled Chicken Tacos.
So, what do you propose anybody eats at Taco Bell? This video wasn't worth my time. Taco Bell Mexican Pizza is fabulous!
