Great build I picked up a ladder rack bed mount deal for my kayak gotta figure out mounting yet.
I was looking at something similar too, but decided on a trailer. Good luck on your build Scott.

Should keep you busy. We usually pile 4-5 in truck bed. Sometimes a few canoes. Be kind of weird to see a yak on a trailer around here.
Being over 60 things start feeling heavy LOL That's the one reason that I'm building myself a Kayak trailer.
