You did a great job on that trailer. Mine is similar. One thing I do is before launching I pull the kayak back 3-4 feet and then back it in the water. This essentially makes the trailer 3-4 longer.
1 thing to add, looks like you have 8 inch rim wheels, those are bearing burners. I upgraded to 12 inch wheels. 8 inch turns about 1200 rpm at 55 and the 12's run about 960rpm.
Sir. First off wow, awesome idea. Not sure what you do for a living but man this is awesome. You have inspired me to get off my arse and get my outdoor adventure trailer built. I am good with the insistent, won’t need as much as you have, but I am interested in the “t risers or brackets”. Any idea or a link where you got those, would be greatly appreciated. I am also mounting a “rising/lowering” ARB Awning + Room, as well as a Yakima Rod Locker. Can’t wait, have had most of the parts bought n paid for, just sitting waiting on me. Now that I stumbled across your idea of using Uniate it for the kayak mounts, all I would need are the t brackets, and any info on sizing cone nuts, spring nuts, and so 45 degree brackets. Thanks again for an awesome video and outstanding ideas.
Love your design. I noticed this video is from a year ago. How has the unistrut held up? Do travel far with your kayaks? My drive to the Texas gulf coast is 2-4 hours depending on where I go. Would you make any changes? Thank you for posting these how to videos. You do a great job.
Thanks. It took a lot of moving stuff around and doing things over a few times. I look at the trailers that you can buy. Way above what I built. But this works great for my needs.
Like what you did with the second teir. Would like to put a rod locker or tube on. Any suggestions on doing that with what you already started? Thank you.
You should have a metal company around you somewhere that would be able to sell the same size as your trailer is when you would cut and welded together to extend it
Hope you see this. Question, so did you use thin wall pvc like sewer pipe and not schedule 40 thick wall? I’m looking to do a trailer and bought sewer pipe, thin wall, to save money now I’m second guessing it. Also, Did you use 4" PVC? Thanks.
That's brilliant. Glad I came across this video. Going to transform my single trailer to a double using this.

I love the trailer. Im working to make one as you. Can you tell me what Brackets and Strut Brackets you used?

Turned out really nice Chris, if your day job doesn't pan out you might have a future in customizing kayak trailers 😁

@@blessedtofish6803 you did a great job man 👊🏼
I love this guy
Thank you.

Great video great instructions! anyway you can give us a link or an item name to those Unistrut risers?
Nice. What kind of boat buckle. Brand
Been looking for some u can put upside down like that

yes. I'm going to add two rod tubes on it. just have not gotten that far yet
What size pvc pipe are you using
where would i get the metal to extend the tongue?
You should have a metal company around you somewhere that would be able to sell the same size as your trailer is when you would cut and welded together to extend it
How wide is this trailer wheel to wheel
Very nice trailer build. Lots of great ideas. Where did you source the unistrut fittings? Thanks
I found them on Amazon
How far apart are the bunks? I’m thinking of the same…..
What is the maximum towing speed?
How has your pvc pipe held up. I know that thinner pvc didn’t last me a season compared to the thicker kind.
@@nelhead4807 it has held up great. Use a litter thicker pipes when you start. They will last.
@@blessedtofish6803 thanks I was just wondering. I did switch to the thicker pvc.
Nice how wide is the trailer and how big is the pvc under the kayaks
I want to say like 62 inches. And for the pvc pipe I used 4inch pvc pipe
Can you send a link for those retractable straps, please.
I bought them at bass pro shop.

Thanks.
I used such 40 pic from Home Depot
@@blessedtofish6803 Looks like you used 4" PVC. Any idea on width between pipes? Thanks!!
@@brandofamily I did use 4 inch pipe. And I adjusted them after I put kayak up on it. So I don’t know exact how much they are apart.
Wish I could find a trailer that cheap with title lol
It took awhile to find one. When you find one close. Start talking them down.
you must be a plumber or an electrician....lol
Why do you say that. I am not either one of those.
@@blessedtofish6803 We use a lot of strut in the trade is all... I use strut around house a lot... LOl
