  • A quick demonstration on how I light up my Coleman Catalytic heaters. Safety first, always light these outdoors. Don't use them in an air tight structure like sheds, trailers and tents. Always have good ventilation. You should carry a carbon monoxide detector. It can save your life!

@@dreamcreationsadventures These are good heaters when used properly. But, to always be on the safer side of thing, I use a Carbon Monoxide detector whenever heating with gas or wood while I'm sleeping in a tent. The red one is a 3000BTU heater, love that one. Its perfect in removing the dampness out of your sleeping area before bad and when you first get up. Takes the chill out of the air. LOL yeah it sure was windy. You gotta love Coleman. Have yourself a good day Donna.

@@danielcharbonneau222 I too always have a carbondioxide alarm when using fuel inside whatever I am camping, sleeping or just hanging out in. I haven’t used wood 🪵 inside a closure other than a house. But definitely great advice I appreciate

OK First off try this. Remove the globe by unscrewing it from the font, once removed you should see the main wick, make sure that the wick is showing for about 1.5 inches or so. Question: have you ever light it up at night to checked out the glow around the globe. - My fuel level was topped off with Coleman White Gas. I did wet the globe good before I lite it. It took a few minutes for the flame to die down but when it did the globe was lite, which the video showed. Note: If you are talking about the 3000 - 5000 heater you have to have the lever in the 5000 position to light. Either way Try this. Turn your heater upside down and watch for a wet spot to appear in the center of the globe. If this takes place then light it up but stand back as you will experience a high flame like I did in this video. Once the flame dies off the entire globe should start to glow {note it will take about 5 minutes for the entire globe burn}. I hope this helps you out. Either way drop by and let me know. Thanks for leaving your comment.
