    I use the Joker 6.5 nomad along side my curly birch Joker Bushlord Sleipner steel, I’m way impressed with the build quality and price of both, the Bushlord is absolutely amazing for the price. Great video 🙏 respect from the United Kingdom 🙏

    This was really good demo video, I liked it alot. I own the Nomad 6.5 and I really like it, I only have a problem with sharpening it, because I'm not really experienced to sharpen a convex edge, so I'm not able to get to factory sharpness again, but I like it alot anyway. From Joker I also own the Ember (Scandi), Bushcrafter and Bushlord. If I only could have one of them, I would probably go with a Bushlord since it's also a bigger knife with scandi grind so it's easy to sharpen (not like convex 😀). Thanks again for the video, I'll stop by at your channel again. 🙂

      Thanks for dropping by, looking forward in hearing from you again. I find that if you were to strop your blade after, or every now and than you should keep a very good edge on your knives. {use compound if need be.} If for some reason it's just not as sharp as you need it to be a few strokes with a ceramic rod should do the trick. But, yes a convex takes practice to sharpen. Your very welcome. See you back soon.

    I've had one for about 5 months and I'm loving it! It's a great knife. I accidentally ran it into some gravel and rolled the edge near the belly, but it came out fairly easily with a little work on the stone.
    The jimping is very well done and I think I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how sharp it came out of the box. It's a wonderful knife.
    Nice review!

      Thank You. Yes sharp for sure. I'm really liking this knife. After I completed this video I split some of that cherry wood just so it would dry a little faster. Afterwords I checked the edge, no rolls and still cuts paper with ease, no toothy edge what so ever. Yep I'm liking it!

    Ordered mine. Great demo video. You really put that bad boy to the test. I paid £120 (154 US dollars). I was looking at both the lionsteel m7 and Falkniven A2. This seems more affordable for its use to me. Keep up the good work. Liked and subscribed.

    Great review. I bought one and wanted to correct one thing you said. It is not a “full convex”. It is a flat grind down to about. 3/16” where it transitions to a convex edge. This is opposed to a bark river for example that is a true full convex. With that said it performs extremely well and acts much like a full convex. I love my Bark River Bravo 1 because of that full convex edge making it a beast for splitting when batoning. The Nomad also splits amazing well. To me a convex edge is the most underrated grind for bushcrafting. The Bark River grinds are better but also much more expensive. This is a great option and a very affordable price. Thanks for the review.

    My take on the insert is that it was not put in there to guide the blade insertion. Instead, imo, it was designed to butt up against the scales so that when you insert the blade you don't push it down too far and cut the stitching in the bottom of the sheath.

    • @danielcharbonneau222
      @danielcharbonneau222  9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah it could be, but imo it' was a bad design flaw. I have a great number of these types of knives with a properly sewn in welt with no plastic insert in them. In this case the insert created many problems as shown in the video. The fit and finish of the leather sheath is second to none. Once the plastic insert was removed and discarded the knifes retention in it's sheath didn't change. I do have Puukkos and Leukus that have a soft plastic type inserts in their sheaths that are one size larger then their blades which guides the blade into their sheaths with no issues, and the leather sheath still maintains it's retention. For me, it was a flaw. Thanks for watching this video and leaving your comment.

    • @Limicola1
      @Limicola1 9 місяців тому +1

      @@danielcharbonneau222 I removed it in mine but in the process, buggered up the stitching on the belt loop with the sharp edge of the insert. Fortunately I have another sheath that works well for ithe knife but they should have recessed (channelled) the leather inside where the sheath loop is stitched before stiching. In this case, it will be a bugger to try to repair. It hasn't completely unraveled yet but I no longer trust it. One thing I may do is put a couple rivets in there which will be a lot easier than resewing it. And even if I could resew it, it would be almost impossible to create a channel for the sewing inside without taking the sheath apart. And if the welt is glued, that would make taking the sheath apart twice as hard.

    • @danielcharbonneau222
      @danielcharbonneau222  9 місяців тому +1

      @@Limicola1 Yes I totally agree, two rivets would do the trick I think. Cover the tread with crazy glue that would help as well.

And I live a few kilometers from them. They all make quality parts. Perhaps J&V and Nieto have more attractive blades and Joker and Cudeman work better steels.
