Also Persian here.. I wouldn't say that "absolutely no one" has heard of the Persian Silk Tree or its use in cosmetics. The tree is native to Iran (Persia) and Eastern China. The tree isn't a complete unknown to everyone though.
I love the Ceramide Barrier Serum! Skin glow and soft. Also love the Oat to Milk cleaner, same effects, no breakouts and I have sensitive, acne prone oily combo skin. Also the matcha stick moisturizer around my upper forehead which is flakey. Haven’t tried anything else yet!
Thank you for all of your reviews, Dr. Dray! Thank you so much for pointing out that make-up wearers might like it.
As a result of this awesome channel and personal preferences - I usually go for the fragrance free options eg La Roche- Posay , Aveeno , Cetaphil and Neutrogena and Ponds . I love them all , rotate them and buy when on sale 👍 thanks doc !
This is my life! Also why I am one who does not enjoy/delight in skin care as mentioned in a recent video. I have 57 year old, Rosacea, ultra sensitive, thyroid issues skin. Add in my allergies to dyes in products it is as if every new product trial is like a roll of the dice! Thankful for narrowing down shea butter as a trigger and for La Roche Posay products that my skin seems to accept.
What I have learned from watching Dr Dray has been to use less of everything, and to not be afraid of vaseline/petrolatum, either pure or ointments mainly based on it (ointments sometimes just feels a bit nicer than the plain petrolatum - YMMV, my skin doesn't mind a bit of lanolin).
She has several videos like that, the most recent one was on overexfoliation and how to heal your skin, before that (about a year ago) was a video on healing damaged skin and a separate one about barrier repair and strenghtening.
I worked out three routines: gentlest cleanser (I like La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5) followed by any of those: Dear Klairs Midnight blue calming cream, Dear Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream or La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. The Midnight blue being lightest and LRP being heaviest. The Midnight blue was bit too light for me so I slathered some petrolatum gel on top of it. It helped a lot to stop burning sensation and my skin was back to normal in 2 weeks time but I stayed away from serums and treatments for 3 more weeks
Definitely stop using actives for 2 weeks at minimum. Vanicream Gentle Skin Cleanser, Simple Rich Moisturizer (yes! The cheap stuff!), and CeraVe Healing Ointment or Aquaphor to seal right before bed. I also suggest beta-glucan added somewhere in there. Perhaps the iunik brand serum that is 98% beta glucan, a better humectant than HA (which imo is overdone!)...
I have tried their oil to milk cleanser and sunscreen. I HATED that cleanser. It did not spread on my skin comfortably and did not cleanse effectively no matter how I used it. The sunscreen I found to be a little bit drying. I cannot use any more than one application of it during the day because of how dry I feel; to use it up sometimes I use it as my last application of the day after 2 applications of the Verdio gel sunscreen, which is much more moisturizing and light. Based on my experience with both of those products I'm not compelled to try any more of their products, as curious as I am about the AHA jelly cleanser and barrier serum.
Dr. Dray doesn’t wear any makeup except for mascara. She may wear a tinted sunscreen at times, as she’s always trying out new things for us. Wish I could go bare faced, it would save a lot of time and $$. 🤣
I really enjoy videos where you review products from a single brand. I had considered purchasing the sunscreen from this brand but didn't seem better than what I already had. Thanks for the review.
I liked the Cocokind rose water. I really love the beet stick for my lips. It last a really long time and cured my chapped lips plus it’s a nice light red.
Another timely video! I had this happen to my face last night. I was using Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Gentle PHA Exfoliating Cleanser and had stopped it for 2 days as I was getting some minor redness which I thought it could be causing the reaction as it has a long ingredient list, and it contains peppermint leaft and some flower extracts. Then ast night I applied a sample of Avene Revitalizing Nourishing Cream and my face was beet red like yours for a few minutes. The Avene cream contains a lot of fruit acids :/. I do not usually have overly sensitive skin, but it's been worse these last few months. LRP Cicaplast balm to the rescue!
Loveeee the Cocokind Ceramide Serum! I use it all over my face, but I especially love using it around my lower eyes as an extra lightweight moisturizer. This area of my face is very prone to milia and I haven’t had any milia formations since I started using this product
How interesting about peppermint. Didn't know that, knew about menthol, and couldn't figure out why a hair conditioner that mainly advertised Tea Tree Oil had a distinct "menthol" effect on my scalp - and one that didn't go away immediately once I rinsed it off (took 10-20 minutes). These vaso-dilating and cooling things (whichever plant they come from, or mimic) can be a good thing. One of the best topical nsaids (Ukrainian I think, or maybe Moldovan) I've ever tried had some kind of ingredient like that - very weird sensation at first, but once you got used to it, it was quite pleasant. But these things are probably best kept away from the face...
That red flushing is pretty concerning and I’m glad u didn’t bash them for the situation, u gave it many other goes to see if it was that product as a stand alone, then u discontinued use great job as a professional.
Oh no! Hope your recovery process wasn’t too long! Some products look good but something about this brand has prevented me from trying it for some reason idk why lol. The ceramide serum looks interesting, but Right now I’m using the ample:n ceramide shot(fragrance free of course) and I feel like it is doing wonders for my moisture barrier! It also comes in a 100ml size! Doesn’t have the ahas so I can use it when my skin is Uber sensitive. Hope you have a great week ❤️
I’ve always had a suspicious feeling about Cocokind; I’m not fond of coconut oil in *anything*, nor am I fond of anything that is so heavily advertised. Something about it comes off as “cheesy” and poorly formulated! Good heavens, Dr Dray, I am SO sorry you had such an awful reaction to that moisturizer😱; I can only imagine what it would do to someone with serious sensitivities😡.
I tried two of their serums and had contact dermatitis. Burned and itched for days unfortunately. That’s why I appreciate people who say skincare is personal because most of the very recommended products make me breakout or have an allergic reaction.
I do have brown skin and I actually really like the cocokind spf it’s one I have been able to use consistently doesn’t irritate around my eye area which I like yes there is a cast but it does kinda calm down after a few min on my tone
I can't even use toothpaste or mouthwash with peppermint in. I think it might be a sensitivity that is under-reported. For so many years my gums would bleed with flossing, frequent canker sores, and of course the sorer your mouth gets the more you brush and use mouthwash, and the worse it gets! I stumbled on a post about it and the relief was almost instant.
Yikes! I recently had a similar experience with the Cosrx snail muchin power sheet masks. My face broke out in hives. I actually think it was due to the mask being a bit cold, and caused my cold urticaria to flare up. Would love to see a video on recommendations for those of us with cold urticaria. I struggle to find things to help reduce puffiness as a lot of options include cooling of some sort. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge! You have truly saved my skin ☺️
So sorry you had that bad reaction on your face from that face cream!! Thanks for the great review on that brand!! We can always trust you your so real! Hope you and your beautiful mom and pup are doing well ❤❤❤
I looked up this review specifically for the texture cream! I’ve been trying to narrow down what has been causing my breakouts…specifically on my forehead. And not similar to my normal breakouts…more similar to what happens when I use retinol. I really think it’s because of the texture cream because it’s new to my face! It definitely has caused me issues in my skin that were not there before. And I thought it had a bit of a minty feeling! Which was originally concerning.
If it helps, their texture cream also broke me out! I’ve had no issues though with both their cleansers, acne serum, ceramide serum, eye cream and toning solution. Goes to show everyone has different skin
That’s too bad about the face cream and sorry that happened to you! I looked at the ingredients and it has some great ingredients so that’s disappointing. Thank you for information!
Glad you finally reviewed them! I used the products for about two years I think.. and then wound up giving all of it to my daughter. My personal opinion is the products are OK, but they’re definitely not geared toward mature skin at all. I don’t remember having a reaction from that cream thank God! I had quite a large number of their different products. I really liked the oil to milk cleanser and the sea clay mask. Other than those two, they didn’t really work for me. And I thought the sizes were too small on some of the products as well, for what they cost.
I'm here because I just tried the barrier serum last night after months of it being on my wishlist - and within 5 minutes my face turned bright red! I looked so sunburnt, and my rosacea cheeks were so dark it was bordering on purple! 😭😭😭 Even areas I never experience redness, like around my lips, along my jawline, all the way out to and up to my hairline.... Just hot pink and red from edge to edge of my face. The thing is, I then dud a patch test on my inner elbow, and had no reaction there! So I rinsed my face and put on some flax oil on my dripping skin and after an hour or so it had calmed down a lil, and waking up now my skin looks back to normal, though "feels" sensitized. Never have I had such a reaction to a skincare product! 😳 And I'm normally not very careful about choosing products for sensitive skin, like I just use dry skin products and I tolerate them pretty well, if they don't work for me it's only cause they dry me out a ton, they don't cause actual allergic reactions. I'm going to try that aveeno serum you said is similar and if THAT doesn't work for me I have more work to do finding stuff for my rosacea while I'm on the 8 month waitlist for my derm appt.
Same omg. It was on sale at Target so I bought it to try on my cheeks since they're dry. My cheeks turned red and I felt a burning sensation for a while, I had to wash it off. How can they mess up a barrier repair product so badly??
I haven't tried this product. I would definitely break out also with my sensitive skin. Also I don't try anything unless it gets a 👍 from you tbh. Your poor face, yikes. I'm glad it resolved quickly though. Love the earrings and shirt, that color looks great on you. Such a pretty purple. Thanks for the review Dr, Dray. 💗
I recently tried Versed auto save advanced restoring serum and I developed a rash on my face and neck. I had used skinceuticals ferulic acid in the past with no reaction, but it is too expensive. I do have rosacea and use finacea. The Derm gave me desonide cream and that worked for the rash. Thank you for your informative videos
I tried the Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Serum, Water Gel, and Cream. All 3 gave me a burning sensation and started getting small red patches on my face. I figured out it was the feverfew ingredient in there. My sensitive skin reacts to that so Aveeno isn't calming, nor does it restore my skin. Pretty sure feverfew can cause dermatitis in some people.
I have used their moisturizing stick around my eyes and I loved the results….except it seeped down into my cheeks and the coconut oil (most likely) flared up my seborrheic dermatitis. I’ve developed too many sensitivities in my wiser years so I have to be careful with ingredients.
Hey Dr. D ! Happy Monday to ya ! I know Cerave Healing ointment is your "Boo", and I just wanted to say I found it's long lost twin (almost), Vaseline All-Over Body Balm Jelly Stick ! If it were a little smaller, talk about a great lip balm to keep in your pocket. I think it's fantastic, and feels super nice on the Lips and would be really good to potentially prevent chaffing ! LOVE LOVE ! How bout a COVID friendly elbow bump , and hug to ya ! Much appreciation for today's video! Regards, your fellow skin care peeps in Asheville ! 🤠
Dr. Dray: I'm sure that you know this, but it bears repeating to this audience: If you have ANY kind of irritation or chronic skin sensitivity, be very careful with new products. Make only ONE change at a time, and allow a couple of weeks for that change to become part of your routine. I have rosacea, ocular and vascular types. I also take meds for blood pressure, type 2 Diabetes and urinary issues including recurring UTIs. My UroGynecologist wants me on long-term daily antibiotics, which I'm resisting, and my cardiologist wants me off my beta blocker, my ARB and especially the antispasmodic for the bladder. He says if I lose weight and quit sugar, the Metformin can be discontinued also. So both doctors have different goals, but no one is addressing the rosacea issues. And it is painful to have these damned purply-red patches with the astroturf texture - I can feel them burning from the inside!
Oh no! So sorry that happened to you. But thank you for sharing your experience. Your the best, Dr Dray! Happy Monday! I hope you have a tranquil evening. 🧡
Thank you for the MD Solarsciences recommendation! I am currently on Accutane and need something tinted that works well but isn't heavy and gross. I'm definitely going to try them out. I have never tried anything from Cocokind, as it seems they use a lot of botanicals which I am allergic to (sunflower being a big one).
That’s so interesting because I can’t use anything with peppermint oil on my skin but I have the skin 1004 soothing gel moisturizer with peppermint extract and it doesn’t tingle or cool or anything I don’t get any reaction at all! It’s unscented and I really love this moisturizer + I have reactive skin
I used cocokind for a few months and liked the oil to milk cleanser and their oil cleanser/oil moisturizer they have. But when I used their vit c serum it broke my skin out horribly. Worst acne I ever had all over my cheeks and jawline. I stopped using their products shortly after
Please can you look in Jane iredale makeup… they say ‘our multitasking SPF makeup and skincare formulas are recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation as effective broad spectrum sunscreens.’ And that you can sleep in their makeup…
The barrier serum works well for me once a week. The sunscreen was horrible for me-burning on application. I feel for you with that reaction. I have had that happen so many times, and my skin feels extra sensitive for days after. Peppermint is an irritant for me, too. Hope it didn’t last long.
Dr Dray this is random but what do you think of Vick's Vapor rub for acne? I normally put it on my pimples and it comes to a head within a few hours. Then eventually it pops on its own. And heals nicely.
The same thing happened to me with the Goop 3 minute facial! My face was burning and turned red like a tomato 🍅 I was so excited to try celebrity skincare. I’m sure it works for some people but this girl learned her lesson quick! 😅
My sister has a different skin type than me. It seems like she can put anything on her face and gets no reaction. I, on the other hand, have to be very careful what I put on my skin. She told me to try this mask that she loves. I tried it, and within 5 minutes I had to wash it off because my skin was burning so bad. I couldn't stand it any longer!! It just amazes me how different our skin type is, even though we are sisters! Some products work great for others, but don't work for you......and you won't know it until you try.
huh. the cocokind texture smoothing cream moisturizer, oddly enough, is one of the only ones I could personally find that didn't break me out or give me a rash. Makes me wonder if i should keep using it now though...
Obsessed with the acne serum, makes my skin amazing. The Revitalizing eye cream is terrible! It made the skin around my eyes irritated and dry. They peeled for like a week after I stopped using it
Like another viewer said I had a really bad reaction like this to Paula’s choice fluid spf 50. I use Tretinoin. I stopped purchasing products from them after this. This has not happened to me with other spf so I couldn’t understand it at all.
I tried the oil to milk oat cleanser, it was awful. The consistency was not pleasant and the smell was awful. Its put me off from wanting to try other products from the line. However, that ceremide serum has caught my eye and I may try it in the future if I find a need for it in my routine.
That's so weird! I just found the spf very hydrating. I really like their matcha moisturizer they discontinued, and their lighter moisturizer that has celery in it. For spf I just went back to kinship again now because it has way less cast and was on sale at Ulta and I finished the cocokind, but I would probably repurchase I a pinch.
Something in the cocokind ceramide serum makes my skin feel itchy immediately after applying and I can’t figure out which ingredient it would be that’s causing the irritation… because other than that, I really love everything else about the product.
Happy Monday dr Dray and everyone 🤗 thanks for this video . I haven't tried Cocokind . It's has been recommended for people with oily skin . Sorry that happened to you . I had that happen when I used a Benzoyl peroxide product and a Paula's Choice product too.Have a fabulous day 😘 love to mom and Tybee 🥰 💙💙❄☃️

Your makeup looks so good and brings out our natural beauty. Stunning!
Dr. Dray doesn’t wear any makeup except for mascara. She may wear a tinted sunscreen at times, as she’s always trying out new things for us. Wish I could go bare faced, it would save a lot of time and $$. 🤣
Wow, that could most definitely be painful for people with acne.
I tried their rose water facial toner and it smelled so synthetic I had to return it.
I'm trying to get rid of some of the texture on my 60-year-old skin soon to be 61 that's why I tried this Sunday Riley
I tried the Paula's Choice spf 50 fluid sunscreen and it caused me SEVERE redness and irritation. 🤷♀️
Sorry to hear that happened
Everything I’ve looked at from this company seemed to have coconut oil or cocoa butter and for me, that’s a no go. But peppermint-ouch!
Thank you so much for doing this review, it was SO informative and helpful. I love some of their products, and I’m sorry your skin had a bad reaction.
Glad it was helpful!
Dr Dray, You appear more beautiful with every video coming up
That red flushing is pretty concerning and I’m glad u didn’t bash them for the situation, u gave it many other goes to see if it was that product as a stand alone, then u discontinued use great job as a professional.
Have a beautiful Monday Dr.Dray and peeps ☕ ☕ 🍵❤️🌞

Could you make an SOS video on what to do when the skin is irritated after a product use, please?
She's got videos on skin irritation, healing the skin barrier, skin allergy reactions, etc.
Great to know about the peppermint. That would irritate my skin.
Thank you Dr. Dray, for the sunscreen review. I always wonder how good it was!
Your skin looks better than ever. You’re really glowing 🥰
I didn't know that thing, vento something and dark spots! I find it very important. Thank you once again.
ugh why can’t they leave fragrance out of skincare 🙄 lip products fine but who wants like peppermint or mango or whatever fragrance on their face lmao
A lot of people actually, I would even go as far as to say the majority of consumers love that sensorial element.
I love peppermint and mango on skincare!
Greetings VE Tsai hope u r well n Happy Monday😀👍💜….
Sleep, caffeine serum, Persian silk tree eye cream, tinted sunscreen???? Or all of the above? You look very rested and fresh today Dr Dray.

Greetings Nada B hope u r well n Happy Monday😀👍💜….
I like the sunscreen. All mineral but it goes on easily like a combination type. Not sticky on the face. Leaves me shiny but not white.
Happy Monday! Have a great week! Thank you for all your reviews🥰
Awww sorry this happened to you, I’m
Sure you’ll recover quickly! ❤️
That is a beautiful color in you, I mean the lilac
Hey pretty lady have u reviewed the brand Pacifica? I'm intrigued by that brand for some reason ❤love u
Hey Dr.
Cerave and Neutrogena only touches my skin!
So is the lactic acid safe on the face? I was worried about that because lactic acid is used as for exfoliation right?
Much power to this dr for trying out all those products
That’s so interesting because I can’t use anything with peppermint oil on my skin but I have the skin 1004 soothing gel moisturizer with peppermint extract and it doesn’t tingle or cool or anything I don’t get any reaction at all! It’s unscented and I really love this moisturizer + I have reactive skin
Very helpful review of these products. You are such a valuable resource, Dr. Dray. By the way, I love your earrings; you look lovely in lavender.
I’m currently using the moisturizer and haven’t had any issues with it turning me red and I am prone to redness.
I used cocokind for a few months and liked the oil to milk cleanser and their oil cleanser/oil moisturizer they have. But when I used their vit c serum it broke my skin out horribly. Worst acne I ever had all over my cheeks and jawline. I stopped using their products shortly after
When did it start breaking your skin out?
Please can you look in Jane iredale makeup… they say ‘our multitasking SPF makeup and skincare formulas are recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation as effective broad spectrum sunscreens.’ And that you can sleep in their makeup…
Thank You For Sharing, and Letting Us Know about These Products!! Really Enjoyed This Video!! Love ❤ Hugs, and Many Blessings!!💕💌🙏🥰

Your complexion looks beautiful! Do you only wear sunscreen or do you have on any eye shadow or other makeup?
huh. the cocokind texture smoothing cream moisturizer, oddly enough, is one of the only ones I could personally find that didn't break me out or give me a rash. Makes me wonder if i should keep using it now though...
Obsessed with the acne serum, makes my skin amazing. The Revitalizing eye cream is terrible! It made the skin around my eyes irritated and dry. They peeled for like a week after I stopped using it
Love the turmeric lotion and the ceramide barrier serum.
Please talk about sensitive skin. I suffer from oily sensitive skin. I don't know which products are good for me🙏🏻🤍🤍🤍
Like another viewer said I had a really bad reaction like this to Paula’s choice fluid spf 50. I use Tretinoin. I stopped purchasing products from them after this. This has not happened to me with other spf so I couldn’t understand it at all.
I’d love it if you could do a video on suncreens that blur the pores
I have oily skin & i don’t use moisturizer when i use their spf in the morning bc it does the job
You look great in that color 🥰
Oh thank you!
How do you feel about body scrubs ? Instead of moisturizer for skin
I liked their spf. I no longer need moisturizer and spf. It's two in one. But I wish it would come in higher spf
Something in the cocokind ceramide serum makes my skin feel itchy immediately after applying and I can’t figure out which ingredient it would be that’s causing the irritation… because other than that, I really love everything else about the product.
hope you guys have a great week ahead
You too!!
Enjoy your day 🤗
Happy Monday dr Dray and everyone 🤗 thanks for this video .
