You showed the two boxes of 5 pods and I went “there’s no way that’s 5 pods…WOW they’ve gotten so much smaller than when I first used them just 4 years ago.” If they kept getting smaller I might be more inclined to use omnipod again. So cool to see, thanks for sharing! Love you Lindsey!

Hi so I was on the basic omnipod for a while, then switched to the omnipod dash and now I am on the omnipod 5. A few pieces of advice is try to put the pod on places where you are less likely to brush against objects as that will save you the trouble of ripping it off by accident. I am pretty sure you can get matching cases and overlays from any general diabetes accessory stores. I know Sugar Medical has some nice gel cases for the pdm. Also if you didn't know the Omnipod 5 connects to the dexcom and works closed loop when it is connected which is pretty convenient.
long time pod user here i start with a organiztion system first than always have the pdm with you next have pods with you if you go out in case you need to change one and use some type of patch with the pod i use pod pals
Cool! I started Omnipod 5 (after 4 years on TSlimX2) in 2022. My endo said he would only approve a switch to Omnipod when the closed loop type system was out, and thankfully it was released around when my Tandem went out of warranty.
As for tips: you may need to adjust your insulin to carb ratio. It will reduce the bolus even if you are over target depending on the amount of iob. Which is because it looks 60 minutes into the future, but I still need my 1:20 insulin to carb ratio and the best way to ensure I get that (or close to it) was to set it at 1:17.
Hi. I am on year 64 with type 1. Anyway, I have been using pump therapy for over 30 years. The last two years on the Tandem IQ. It is a great tool for helping control however, due to all the scar tissue from infusion sets, I need a tubeless system. Tandem will have theirs’ at some point, but for now I will give the Omnipod 5 a run.
Ok, I’ll just say it. Never cared much for that boy you were with, lol! I’m sure there was more to him than what we saw but he always seemed to have an attitude like he thought he was “too cool” to be in your vlog😤. I hope that was just a front and not an indication of how he treated you all the time. Anyway, glad you are doing well and taking on new adventures!
i am on the t slim now and i’ve been on it for about 3 yrs now and i rlly wanna try omnipod 5 as i play sports! what insurance do you have? hoping mines gets covered
I have Aetna! They covered the monthly pods but not the starter kit for me
