    Nice job Tyler and crew. Bummer about the broom finish, but you live you learn. The hot day sure didnt help you out, if was cooler you would have caught it and made em redo it. That was a stressful pour, lot of detail work

    Man you’re lucky. Could have been much worse. Coping is such a pain. Have you tried the styrofoam stuff you snap off and throw away? I build pools and plan to try it next poured in place coping. About 3-400 per pool for the material. Goes in fast and easy allegedly. Saw it at a pool show recently.

      Never tried that stuff. We used bullnose styrofoam forms for block caps and steps though, I’m sure it’s similar. Let me know how that goes

    Do you have any videos for building a pool equipment screen wall? Is it ok to have a footing and 4ft tall block wall on top of the pool suction and return pvc lines?

      @@OdellCompleteConcrete Hi thanks for the reply, i should clarify the pool pipes are existing so im not sure how that could be done and the main pipes are about 1/2" below the footing so im more concerned about the weight of the wall potentially crushing the pipe.

    Question about the pool coping pour. I usually see a layer of roofing paper as a barrier prior to pouring the concrete. What’s up with that?

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
      @OdellCompleteConcrete  2 місяці тому

      You mean the foam that is glued to the outside edge of the coping?

    • @Sierrabuildco
      @Sierrabuildco 2 місяці тому +2

      The roofing paper is used as a slip joint so the coping doesn't bond with the pool's bond beam--this is usually only done in cantilever decks where the coping and deck is one piece (so they can move independently)

    1:30 - Was that a line drain you tied in to the side of the pool so it doesnt overfill? It then flows into the yard drain system?
    WARNING, if that is it, watch out for inspectors or a neightbor calling the city due to constant wanter going to the street through the water drain pipe. It is illigal in almost all areas to dump pool water into the storm drain system (streets). here in Phoenix, it is very highly enforced and if caught, some serious trouble/fines as it pollutes the ground water system and other major issues. It mst be drained into the sewer lines and be treated from all the poison chemicals in the water.
    If the drain was just a grate to get small ammounds of water, like line drains around a back patio with a pool so as kids get out and stuff, water isnt pooled up, but goes down the drain. I'm talking about a pool level drain, where if the water rises above that line, it goes into the drain and pours out that way keeping the pool from overflowing. That is still the same as dumping pool water to the street.
