How to Cook Cod in Parsley Sauce

- Cod in parsley sauce was a Friday dinnertime regular for me growing up as a boy, and it has always been a firm favourite of mine. It is so simple to prepare and it delivers big on taste and nutrition.
Served here with baby new potatoes and petits pois, it is sure to please 😋
This recipe works with any fresh white fish like haddock, tilapia, barramundi and grouper.

Hi Pete, Parsley Sauce is one of my all time favourite sauces, I make it at every opportunity. But Cod in parsley sauce is definitely the classic marriage. I love to sprinkle a few drops of malt vinegar over the sauce when it's on the plate. Great British food presented beautifully. Regards to you both, by the way, I though that was for the two of you, what did Richard have, a sniff of the chefs apron ??

The nostalgia happiness right now with this fish..❤❤💋💋👏🏽👏🏽 in New Zealand. It was a weekday mums-stressed-cheat day supper, served exactly how you did.🥰🥰🥰👍🏽👍🏽 Mum would gently poach the fish in the milk, used in the parsley sauce,though, infused with bayleaf, onion, and seasoning. Smoked Hoki, haddock or white fish is grand too. Right with you on the pepper! Im going to cook this next weekend. Lots of fond memories. 😍😍🇳🇿🇬🇧🐟 Thank you. Blessings to you and your family.

Cod is my super favourite. I would love to consume more, only thing it's very pricey. It can cost more than a sirloin steak here. Love the poaching way of cooking it. Looking really delicious. I'm hungry now. Nice work, Pete!
Cod is a great food fish Fiona, but I made this many times with grouper. Any tasty white flesh fish works with this recipe.
YUMMO Pete this is an absolute classic done to perfection it's been yonks (years) since I've had cod in parsley sauce my mouth isn't just watering it's GUSHING !!!!! Shared immediately 😋!!!!!

@@PaddyJoeCooking I have got to make this then! Fresh cod is really rare and hard to find here in the MidWest, but frozen cod is plentiful. I love the sauce and I know Mrs Rivet will too. When I make this I will give you both credit on the video for sure!

An old classic dish that I remember from my childhood. Unfortunately only bad memories as I don't like most fish or any kind of white sauce lol. I wish I did, but alas I can look and admire

I used to buy frozen single serve fish in parsley sauce. White fish, not cod, in a plastic bag with the sauce in the bag as well & just pop bag in cold water & bring to a simmer. I haven't seen that in the frozen section for 10 year's.
I remember exactly what you describe Herb. It wasn't a bad standby meal to be fair.
Cod in parsley sauce is an absolute classic. As you say, it was very popular when we were younger. Gammon in parsley sauce was as well. It's sold as a ready meal in supermarkets but the value is pretty poor. Far better and tastier to make it oneself.
Homemade is best for sure. We still eat gammon steaks with parsley sauce as a regular midweek meal here. Yummy 😋
@@LazyCookPete Gammon lends itself to a variety of sauces such as mustard and honey but parsley is still a classic.
@@welshtoro3256 I bake gammon steaks in my air fryer topped with pineapple rings and sometimes cheese too, another favourite!
