    Brilliant site…I am going to be a returning rider soon, a hiatus of 41 years, nasty crash thanks to a drunk driver ended it back in 1981…. I now want to get back …I hold a full A licence….but I am under no illusion that things have changed, I plan to re train, re learn and accept I know squidly squat….I will watch your videos with huge interest…I plan to dress rehearse while riding my bicycle…..as best I can….why not….until I get my gear and then lessons, here in Jersey..cheers

    This video helped with the lifesaver look as sometimes felt like I was over committed and my arms would turn with the glance and done in practice and found much easier and slow ride was another but found keeping head up and focusing on blue cones and managed to pass MOD 1 with no faults or minors 😊

    Great video. Couple of questions for you when you do your observations prior to moving off I notice you always look right then left then off is this the is this the correct way or can I do look left then right then off ? Also when do you start to make the u turn is it when almost at the end of the white line or can it be done before that I just got a new bike it's big thanks for your help.

    • @Lets-rideUk
      @Lets-rideUk  3 роки тому +4

      Hi Iain. It really doesn't matter which shoulder you start with. It's only by habit I start with the right. You can start the turn whenever you like, as long as you remain within the confines of the white lines. If you're really confident you can do the U-turn straight off the bat, without any forward motion! Not easy for new riders though, which is why we always teach to ride forward a couple of bike lengths to make sure the balance is there. Good luck!

    I just completed what your explaining...test in the further to come...my question which my instructor taught me was exactly as you said but i was told to indicate right after my life saver ..sorry to ask but why didnt you...i am from Ireland are rules different...just checked one of your replies said not required so a car coming from behind which wasn't there when you checked is now on top of you cause technically you just pulled out..

    • @Lets-rideUk
      @Lets-rideUk  6 місяців тому

      Indicate if you want to - it's really no problem either way. There are no DVSA publications showing the use of an indicator for this exercise though and I would argue there is little point indicating after the lifesaver - if it's clear when you do the lifesaver then you can turn therefore who is the indicator for exactly, or if you do the lifesaver and someone is overtaking you at that point then you would abort immediately so the indicator doesn't accomplish anything there either. As I say though, indicate if you like, it's really no problem other then one more thing to worry about. Good luck! 😊👍
