Is it OK to ride over street humps?
Yep!
why is it that CBT instructors are almost always highly strung and DAS ones are incredibly chill!
CBTs can be immensely stressful at times!! 😆
At 10:08, do you have to check over your left shoulder too on your test or is that extra work? Also at 12:31, should you do both life savers before moving off? Watching all your videos for my mod 2 😊
10:08 No need to look on the pavement, just over the right shoulder is fine. 👍 12.31 Just mirror checks is suffice. 👍 Good luck!
Thank you, this is the way to train, a real walkthrough
You're welcome! 👍😊
Best one ever
I really appreciate your support! I have my mod 1 exam tomorrow, and I'm feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. I've been struggling with this one, but I'm determined to give it my best shot. I'll keep you posted on how it goes! The ther exercises have been going great, so here’s hoping I can carry that momentum forward!
Best of luck! 🤞
@@Lets-rideUk I passed! Although I felt so nervous!!! Your advice really helped me nail that hazard avoidance, he was super impressed.
Woohooooooo! Congratulations! 🎉👍👍👍
@@Lets-rideUk thanks so much. I now need to just pass my MOD 2!
Can you swerve to avoid going over the speedbumps? As I saw at 1.30 she swerved to the middle, i guess if clear to do so, but surely a a fail if traffic coming the other way?
Yes, absolutely correct. If no traffic is coming either side is fine, with traffic coming take the left side - swerving into oncoming traffic is most definitely a fail! 👍
Still seems like yesterday, I passed my test under the instruction of Richard in Feb 2005!!
Wow, time flies Mark!
What was the result for these guys?
See the next vid 👍 ua-cam.com/video/PsNeiZkMVm4/v-deo.html
Thanks for the video, does that mean I have to keep pushing until I finish the corner? or just a little bush at the beginning of the corner?
If the power is kept on the bike should stay at the lean angle without much further input. 👍
Fantastic, I see great value in those videos, great for anyone training for their mod2 ...and beyond.
Do you think it’s possible and how likely could someone pass their DAS after CBT the. They only book 5 day course would you think they could pass there DAS? I’ve passed my CBT well completed it and I’m 44 and wanted to move up to a 300cc bike for next bike as I fin d 125cc bikes are a lot harder to be safe than a 300cc I ride on private properly as the bike had more power allowing easy pull offs and control from me at least I’m hoping I can do it after only a 5 days course but also wanted to ask if I book my DAS which includes training if I’m not ready to go for my mod 1/2 tests can I book more lessons and keep practicing until they think and I think I can pass?
For someone who can ride comfortably and has experience on a big bike already, then we usually book them in for the 4-day course. 👍
The reason so many look over the left shoulder when doing the life savers when parked on the side of the road is due to being told none stop in our CBT to do it 😅 it’s so confusing. My CBT instructor said I had to look over both shoulders when pulling off at all times now I see many say in DAS you don’t have to
Great piece of advice. I clipped the blue cone last week. Think I was going to fast. Booked for December. Praying for a result
Good luck! 🤞
@ cheers
Well done Sam.
Hi Richard, I just like to say many thanks for the videos, as l passed my MOD2 full A today 1st attempt. Cheers 🍻
Many congratulations - well done! 🥳
Hi i recently passed my mod 2 i still watch your videos love the content ❤
Many congratulations and thank you!
4:53 literally what happened to me!
Easily done. Best of luck on the next attempt!
@@Lets-rideUk I passed a couple of hours ago!
Congratulations! 🥳
@ thanks a lot! Your videos definitely help me!
Hi Richard, I just wanted to write a quick note to say thank you so much for your time and effort uploading these videos. I've been watching them (repeatedly in some cases!) in preparation for my DAS, and I only wish I had an instructor who was as jovial and conscientious as you come across in your videos. I ended up learning far more from yourself remotely than I did from the instructor who was 'training' me. Nevertheless, I did my MOD1 and MOD2 today passing first time. Thank you again!
Thanks so much for the extremely kind words and huge congratulations to you! Well done! 🥳
Where are we finding jackets and helmets for £40-£50 am struggling to get them so cheap
Great videos by the way got my cbt coming soon
Ebay is a good start, bargain used clothing on places like Gumtree, but always buy the helmets new. 👍
On the point of letting the pedistrian cross on a two lane road. My examiner gave me a minor fault for doing exactly this. Apparently my stopping in lane 2 to let pedistrians cross was wrong. Lane 1 was clear when i stopped but i was told a vehicle could have over taken me on my left and collided with the pedestrian as they stepped off the pavement. So it appears the examiner can fail you or not at their discretion!
This is very interesting, thanks for sharing! 👍
Hi , do you keep left indicator on until you are told to pull away and change to right indicator thanks
Up to you but a good idea to cancel it just in case you forget about it and pull away with it on flashing the wrong direction (only a minor fault). 👍
Doing my A1 light mod 2 test soon. Will they still take you on a 70mph as my bike only goes 55 to 60 tops
From my experience the examiners tend to avoid the faster 70mph roads on the A1 test, knowing the bike will struggle to hit 60mph. But you should prepare for it, just in case.
Got my cbt tomorrow If I downshift into 2nd coming up to a a red light but it changes to green right before I would have stopped , say at this point I’m doing 3-4 mph, do I leave it in second and accelerate away or do I need to go into 1st with me going so slow? Hope that makes sense, thanks mate. Your videos have been priceless.
If you're going as slow as 3-4mph then I'd suggest going down to 1st gear. Otherwise the engine will bog down when you pull away without significant clutch slippage (which is ok btw). Best of luck with it.
Hi Richard, Thanks again for all your efforts. I hope you enjoyed your tea afterwards. You must have built a big thirst. Learnt a lot again.
Failed my test yesterday for the fact that I was coming from a minor road going to a major road and didn't close the gap between me and the curb and the examiner came and fit his motorcycle there. My question is is that a major fail for not closing that gap? Thanks
If you're substantially out of position then a life saver into the gap before moving off is the way to go. 👍
When pulling over , do we keep our left indicator on whilst pulled in, or cancel it as soon as we have pulled in ?
Either is fine. Switching it off after you've pulled in lessens the chance of having the wrong indicator on when pulling away though!
@@Lets-rideUk ok great 👍 thanks. Also, am I ok to put my foot onto the curb when pulling over ?
Yes. 👍
Your videos helped me through mod 1, watching the mod 2 videos now ready for that test
Best of luck!
Hi Richard, thank you for your videos and essence commentary on MOD2, they really aided my PASS last Friday the 18th of October 24. It was an intense test in the bustling town of Shrewsbury. For all those preparing for MOD 2 watch the videos and best of luck.
Many congratulations Mark!
Useful info for any rider planning to do the Module 1 test in Mallusk, Belfast, Northern Ireland. The course is set up very differently to what you see on UA-cam. Be prepared for a much tighter uturn and a much tighter figure of 8. Also, unlike in England, when you do the figure of 8 you cannot go around the last yellow cone.
Very useful info - thank you!
Hi therw What is the distance between the cones for slalom and the 8 also for the curb exercise Cant find anything online specific. Great videos will practice Accordingly Can't find anything online

These videos are great! Thank you for taking the time to make them…
This channel should have way more views and subs, absolutely spot on. Got my cbt on the 29th, praying it isn’t pissing it down haha.
Thank you! And best of luck. 👍👍👍
Why i like my umdsr ex it has combined breaking
Nice.
Passed my bike test 29/12/1963, three days after my 16th birthday; got rid of my bike in 1970, first child; only ridden twice since then even though I hold a full bike licence! Thought about doing a 'Back to Biking' course, but thanks to your excellent videos and first class instruction techniques I've decided to prove my riding abilty by starting from scratch. By the way; some idiot's put the foot controls on the wrong side of your bikes! Regards Keith
"By the way; some idiot's put the foot controls on the wrong side of your bikes!" 🤣🤣🤣
I am 64yrs old from Glasgow Scotland.Have my test next month and only require an A1 licence so haven't went to a driving school since passing my CBT. Passed My MOD 1 by watching Richard's Video's on the carpark, each video breaking down the manouvers from Manuaul handling to swerve avoidance excercise. Wonderful videos, all of them. Thankyou from Myself and 10 other Scooter and geared bike enthusiasts. 😊😊😊😊 John L
Thanks so much John! Safe riding. 😊👍
Hi Can I pass mod2 A1 licence on 110cc honda leed?
Sadly not. The bike needs to be 120cc to 125cc in size. 😕
Brilliant video, I failed my mod 1 on the u turn as the examiner said the bike rolled half a bike length to much and said I should have done another lifesaver, I felt very annoyed.
Ouch! Good luck next time!
Hi. Love your Channel absolutely wonderful. Have my Test next month and I'm fairly confident,I do have a concern and that's the point of no return when approaching lights. Dont want to hesitate approaching lights hoping they change and certainly dont want to slam my breaks on. . Do you have a scenario on one of your road rides, or can you comment on it on your next video. Thankyou John L
There shouldn't be any heavy braking involved - if you're close enough to have to brake hard when the lights start to change then go through the amber. 👍
@@Lets-rideUk Thankyou, much appreciated. Looking forward to watching the next Road ride with your students. JL
Mod 2 in a few hours, your videos helped me pass mod 1, I’m upgrading my full license so done mod 1 and 2 before just a matter of keeping my nerves under control lol
Hope it went well! 🤞
@@Lets-rideUk I passed! Absolutely over the moon, 😃👍
Woohooo! Congratulations. 🥳🥳🥳🥳
@@Lets-rideUk been out in the Peak District on my Enfield interceptor 650 loved it, thanks again for these videos I’m sure they will help others just like me 👍
Many thanks, Richard, another great tutorial 👍
Ĥi Richard. Aĺl very clear being a sunny day or low sun , is it OK to wear sunglasses?
Yes, although you should keep your regular visor closed enough to protect the sunglasses from debris. 👍
Hi Richard, Thanks for all the videos on Mod1. They are detailed and easy to follow. I would like to say thanks again as l passed my test with no minors.
Many congratulations. 🥳
I met you at the test centre in poole I was with tizwaz had a nice chat with a few of you're students! passed my mod 2 today so happy see you at poole bike night :))
Many congratulations!
Gutted! Failed my mod one yesterday. I am upgrading A2 - A after 11 years. Training company never did any training for hazard avoidance. Did everything really well until the end! 47kph on first go, 52kph on second but clipped the cone. 2 weeks until my next attempt, 4 hour round trip to closest test centre and another £150. Kicking myself!
Good luck on the next attempt! 🤞
Love it!, I'll delete that bit :)
Excellent content and very helpful. Would performing a lifesaver everytime you were making a left or right turn be deemed excessive on a test, and could you be marked down for this. On my CBT yesterday, the instructor made me do left mirror/shoulder check and right mirror/shoulder check even when setting off at lights. It seemed excessive and unnecessary.
You'll only be marked down if it's seen to be delaying you unnecessarily, which is unlikely, so don't worry too much about it. Another local school here teaches the same thing and their pupils pass just fine. 👍😊
Hi i also passed mod 2,again thxs to all your help, big thankyou.
Well done and you are very welcome. 👍
My suggestion is scrap the A1 and put the CBT in its place with no 2 year expiration and the ability to remove L plates within 6 months.
Interesting.
Thank you for this, I have a CBT tomorrow I'm gonna have a look at this. I'm a little scared because I chose a manual, I want to get a manual but I'm a little worried I won't be able to pass easily. Either way I love the way you speak, your vibe and tone is awesome, hope things are good for you.
Good luck!
I’m upgrading my license to full A got mod 1 on Monday 👀
Good luck!
@@Lets-rideUk thank you I think your advise on the hazard avoidance is going to help a lot, I’m doing it on the same bike as well 👍
