      Have you noticed how much Supercar Blondie has boomed in the shortest time (growth exploded since June this year)?
      I subscribed to her like when she was at 30k subs? And that's not even that long ago (like 2 years or so). Now she's almost beating Shmee150's 1.8M subs! Crazy.
      I guess 'hot blonde' and 'cars' mix well to get subs. She does occassionally have some exclusive access to events and vehicles, I'll give her that.
      She does seem lovely, is quite pretty as well and all that, but she isn't particularly automotive excellence. Neither is Paul. :P And he ain't no hot chica either.

      It's relates to the original commenter's subject of success and subs on UA-cam.
      And me kinda turning it into the topic of 'sex sells' and other strategies. If he'd get a chick to be in the video and thumbnail his subs would probably go up.
      Or... he'd have to actually make solid automotive journalism happen, with more exlusive access and in-detail looks.
      Still though, he's ahead somehow of both MrJWW and Seenthroughglass, so he's done something better than them although I don't find that reflected in the content.

    It´s much easier to handle the naked cb 650 than the CBR. On the naked bike you sitt more straight up and can move yourself much easier to get the balance.The CBR are your weight on your arms and that limits the freedom to move your body on the motorcycle. I would recomend the Naked bike for a driverslicence test.

    I passed my m/c test in '77 in Jersey (Channel Islands) which was actually harder than the mainland UK test (followed by an examiner in a car for 45 minutes) but that was 8 days after getting the bike. The key difference between our experiences is, I think, that I was on the road 2-3 hours a day, every day, until the test. It's good to have quality instruction as you're learning but it's almost impossible to get away without a certain amount of time-on-road just to get muscle memory and instincts keyed in!
    And the next VITAL component will be doing an advanced riding course - but that is better once you've put a few thousand miles under your wheels, just to have that level of machine-familiarity. I should add that an advanced course is actually bloody fantastic fun to do - it's in no way a chore or a bind - it's an absolute blast!!!

      What does slipping the clutch mean?

    • @andrewdent696
      @andrewdent696 Рік тому +2

      @TS Don't let the clutch fully out. Hold at a bitting point with a few revs. On a powerful bike, and you want to hard accelerate from a standing start, you need to slip the clutch, or you would flip it.

    • @andrewdent696
      @andrewdent696 Рік тому +4

      @TS By applying a little rear break, it stops the bike from surging forward too quickly. So by applying a little rear break along with dragging the clutch, you have so much more control.
      So, select 1st gear, apply a few revs, let the clutch out slowly (to bitting point), and apply a little rear break. Increase revs and let the clutch out a little bit, but keep a small amount of rear break on.
      Don't let the clutch out fully, control the bike on the clutch and revs

      There isn’t a mandatory minimum limit as such, but anyone over 24 can complete a DVSA approved DAS (direct access scheme) course - from total beginner (having only ever ridden a bicycle) to A licence - which usually involves about a week’s intensive training, concluding with Mod1 (as this video) and Mod 2 (out on the road) tests. Candidates will need to have passed a theory and hazard perception test beforehand - these are mouse-click video tests conducted in approved centres - these can take a bit of practice but you can perfect the technique online at home. Many candidates will opt for a more progressive route through the licence structure with its various power limits, up to the full licence, as their age (from 17) and experience grows.

    I'm not a biker so I'm not sure but I have heard you can change gear without using the clutch on a bike because of the sequential gearbox. Might be totally wrong but could help while your getting used to the bike

      Cyapow most modern sportbikes have a quick shifter. But that said yeah you can go up the gears without the clutch just wouldn’t advise down without the clutch

    I failed my first bike test by putting my foot down in the u turn. I know just how you felt! The worst thing was u turns were my specialty- out riding in my lessons I could do them so easily. Anyway, went out on my 125 and practiced u turns every night for a couple of hours, on every type of road until my next test. Which I passed 😁

    I was more worried about my MOD one but I passed with no faults and only got 2 minors on my MOD two! That was 10 years ago 😁 goodluck.

    Don't focus on the foot going down, focus on why your foot went down. Did you cut drive to the rear wheel by bringing in the clutch? We're you looking down? Two common causes. I failed my first time (before mod1 & 2) on the U turn and breezed it 2nd time. I'm now an instructor.

    I passed the ACU test (much more comprehensive) but then failed the Govt test because I misunderstood one of the tester’s instructions and the old fart wouldn’t allow me to retake that part. Guttered but a few months later passed without difficulty so I can laugh about it now. That was many years ago and I’m still enjoying bikes as much as ever😊

    Tough jumping on a bike with clip ons any trying a U-turn with only a few hours on the bike. You look like you would have aced it with the cb and the handle bars. Hard luck man.

    No shame in not passing first time... more time to practice, more experience on unfamiliar mode of transport is no bad thing, in fact it’s a positive.
    Back in ‘81 when I passed though, what is now that first part, was in essence the test. Basically I did a figure of 8 around the test centre in Salisbury, with the examiner WALKING between houses to keep an eye on you, and sticking his clipboard out for the emergency stop, never got above 30mph 🤣
    How more riders didn’t come a cropper back then I don’t know, 250cc 100mph top speeds, sub 6 seconds 0-60, all on ‘L’ plates
