Thank you… I watch this on Monday the day before my Mod2 test and I remembered everything you said… all good and I passed my test… brilliant video . Thanks guys
This was really helpful to my learning. I had studied from the DVLA website but seeing you demonstrate the show and tell questions really made it easy for me to remember all of them - Happy to have passed my Mod 2 today - thank you for helping me with this video
Hey lads, thank you very much for this video! It is the best video on the internet to learn the Show me tell me questions. I passed the mod 2 this morning!
Hello , Im Slade from NYC.... I'm finally going to make my dreams come true and own my 1st personal Bike>>>> Getting ready for my Test etc... This Video was AWESOME> I LEARNED EVERYTHING mentioned in the vid-for the first time... THANKSSSSS
Only one of our group had a new bike, A Honda 250 I recall, lots of chrome, indicators and electric start. Everyone else had ancient BSA's, Triumphs and Lambrettas, as everyone had at least changed the clutch plates if not stripped the engine and reassembled with red hermitite to staunch the oil leaks I think we'd have been insulted if asked if we knew how to check the oil. @@joebloggs9243
@BriCairns back then we all had our bikes or cars apart just about every other weekend, most with old BSA's, Triumphs would have rebuilt them with hermetite to stop the leaks, if you had a car you'd be swapping gearboxes from the breakers until you found a better one hence the how to check the oil questions seem incredibly basic.
@SurreyAlan I remember my dad having a big user manual book for his Austin allegro instead of the folded up sheets of paper you get as a user manual now a days, certainly seemed a lot simpler back in the 70s n 80s
@@BriCairns My local library actually had manuals for bikes, Lambrettas and cars. They also had years of Car Mechanics mags bound into books, it was heaven. Back then you could walk into a BMC dealer and ask for a washer for a gearbox, they'd look it up in a thumbed book and go out the back and get it. You're right, it was a lot simpler back then.
thanks man watched this this morning before i went out and passed. i quoted you so much haha, showing off to my instructor with every right answer and then no problem on 2 for test. thanks
‘Don’t use the killswitch to turn the bike off as it’ll wear it out’ Me with a keyless bike that cannot be turned off any other way other than stalling… -leaves it on forever-
Hi mate, I passed my mode 2 test today. Watched this video few times and it is very helpful and examiner was happy. Thankyou so much and keep up the good work
Starting bike training in December after lockdowns over. Took my driving test B4 the internet and YT were around so massive help. God I’m still nervous though.
@@aeroflopper Generally speaking ignition barrells are heavier duty and designed for thousands of cycles, the kill switch isn't so more likely to wear out.
5:05 I disagree with not using the kill switch. If you use it to kill the engine every time you will instinctively know where it is in the event of a throttle sticking instead of removing a hand from the handlebars and fumbling for the keys. The switch will not wear out 🙂
Yeah, and if you ask anyone who rides they’ll tell you it’s also a good way to fuck up the timing in the engine… why would you go on a reputable bike channels video, learn from a guy with more experience than you, then trash his advice? Do what you want on your test, do what you want to your bike. He is correct, you shouldn’t use the kill switch.
Okay let's say you use it thousands upon thousands of times. What happens is it eventually becomes worn out and may cause it to stop working properly. If your above scenario happens while it's not working, you'll then have to take your hand off the bar to turn the ignition off which can cause you to lose control and potentially crash... - it's not designed to be used regularly and will eventually wear out.
How would you check the oil? My bike doesn't require oil How would you check the condition of the chain? My bike doesn't have a chain Show me tell me questions complete lol
Do you know you can ride a motorcycle In 99% of country's over the world without all this bullshit !!!.. This is a Tax Grab by our greedy establishment, government & cooperations. By all means let's have a road test exam... then the individual can now start to learn how to drive from practice & experience ✅️
You did get one question wrong. You don't need a full license to carry a passenger, you're only required to have passed your mod 1 test. You're not allowed to carry passengers with an L plate, mod 1 removes the need for L plates which then gives you the ability to carry passengers... so you don't actually need a full license
A MOD 1 test does not get rid of your L plates, you have to pass the MOD 2 test to do this and therefore then you can carry a pillion. Hope this clears up any confusion
You do require a full licence to carry a pillion passenger and that requires you to complete a CBT course, theory (for a motorcycle), modular 1 and 2. its also required to remove L plates, if you complete everything but the mod 2 then you are still a learner due to not having a full licence, unless you have a A1 or A2 licence and are upgrading to the next licence etc in which case as long as the bike in question meets the requirements of your class of licence; (for example: if you have a A1 licence you can ride up to 11 kW (and a power-to-weight ratio not more than 0.1kW per kg) so long as you meet those requirements (A1 licence and the mentioned restrictions above) you can ride without L plates and carry a pillion, however while undertaking your upgrade to your licence you cannot ride anything more than a 125cc without a qualified instructor/examiner will require L plates, and of course cannot carry a pillion passenger until you have the licence for that bike.

He looks like he just wants to go home for his tea and biscuits
The examiner by me apparently goes mad when you show him when he sad tell me and vice verser. This guy shows him everything.
As a 16 year old in 1970 I wonder how we all knew this stuff without you tube videos.

Im sorry am i being tested on my ability to ride a bike or am i applying for a bike mechanic job???
Usually the bike should be on its side stand when checking chain slack

Mod 2 today in the rain. My second attempt, wish me luck. Stupid mistake last time by putting my front wheel over a roundabout entrance line
Failed, never checked rear indicators lol
Thanks guys, this helped me pass! 😃
That poor suspension
5:50 are you not concerned with the cut in the centre of the tread just where you inspected the tread depth indicator?

Very well explained and useful, thanks .
only ever cut my engine with the kill switch. then the key, and always leave the kill switch in the off position when parked. it ain't waring out..
I didn’t know there was another way to turn engine off/on so always use red switch on my Honda CB125F
Don't use the kill switch for that you should just use the key

On my way to my MOD2 in Erith
Thanks for the information
Got mine tomorrow not feeling very confident
also how can you check engine oil dipstick mine is 2 stroke and have only 2 stroke oil tank no dipstick
how can you do the chain question when you have a sealed belt drive bike and how can you show the kill switch if your bike is not fitted with one ?
Always see cheap chinese after market mirrors on these riding school bikes,
Bet they keep a box full for when they get smashed every day lol
Do all these still apply in 2022
What’s this bike?
