It's a good idea to check oil pressure this after doing oil change. ●Slightly loosen the oil gallery bolt 1. ●Start the engine and keep it idling until engine oil starts to seep from the oil gallery bolt. If no engine oil comes out after one minute, turn the engine off so that it will not seize. ●Check the engine oil passages, the oil filter cartridge and the oil pump for damage or leakage
Bro what oils did you drain?? I saw you drained 2 oils from different locations. I just bought an 02 Raptor 660 and want to service it myself. Also can you specify everything you used like what oil viscosity, brand, air filter, oil filter, costs etc. Thanks in advance
There's an oil reservoir tank that I drained first, that's where you will be filling up the 4 wheeler when the oil has been drained out, then the engine itself secondly. I use Yamalube 10w-40 (that you have to buy at a dealer or on amazon), I use a k&n oil filter because they have a much harder filter shell, I had a cheap one get hit with a rock and get a hole in while riding so I've used this one since and had no issue (kn 303 I believe), and the air filter is some cheap one I got off eBay because I had no money at the time and I also ride decently clean to not to worry about it at the moment lol
When you drain the oil in anything, theres always still a little bit of oil left in the oil pan and there is still oil on all the parts so its not necessary when doing an oil change, and if you change the filter like I did, the total amount of oil you use is 2.3L
Hi i love your 660 raptor videos. i have a question do you know what size hole is the right side oil gallery plug bolt? its on right side of head with a phillips screw sealed by a copper seal. i would like to install a 1.5 inch dia oil pressure gauge.

I would have to be there in person to hear it, can't just say its normal or not even if its over the phone lol if your valves are adjusted to spec, got plenty of oil and its running fine then I wouldn't stress about it unless it's an insanely loud clattering

U guys have some good vids.
Thank you!
I have no idea where the stuff is, I don't see two holes I see a big metal plate on the bottom
My second drain plug is stripped any tips on how to get out the old oil without drilling the bolt
Do you have a piggyback in the hole because the hole is stripped or do you mean the head is rounded off and you can't get it loose?

Same as the other years, 10w-40 or 20w-50 depending on the temperature of your location. I run Yamalube in mine
@@Hunters_Mechanics Alr thx
What is the best way to check oil level hot/cold
Definitely hot, when its cold, the oil will sit in the case and not give you an accurate reading

Use 10w40, and preferably oil that's specifically made for ATV's because the oil soaks the clutches and you don't want them to slip!
