In this video we had 2 Yamaha Raptor 660Rs that both needed top end work. One got a new rebuild, one got a timing job, broken starter clutch. Broken flywheel, timing chain stretched, installed a new tensioner. We fix it all in this video.

I know Vito’s performance makes a-wiring harness is for the Raptors blasters and banshees really gone quality better than the OEM connectors and you can customize them to delete all the parking brake stuff
Got a 660 Raptor, just rebuilt top end. Runs great, but when I go to 5th gear like I go to neutral? All other gears are fine, any ideas? Love your videos

This is great, I really like on-the-fly diagnose & repair videos. How do you gather a limitless supply of machines like that? Do you find deals, do the repairs, and then resell them for a profit so the whole venture funds itself? That's awesome, I want to do the same thing.
Every 660 i come across has the starter clutch issue. Mine also had the parking brake issue and the cdi was handled by Edward Scissorhands.

Hello, I have a 2001 yamaha raptor 660r. Ever time I press the gas it bogs down. I seem one that you fix just by cutting parking brakes I think that's what you said. I haven't cut it yet I don't want to cut the wrong wire. I need to ask you first .
I’m trying to sell my 2005 660R that has been sitting for like 10-12 years. What should I ask for if I don’t have the time to get it running? Looks decent and ran when I parked it in the garage.

Do you have any 660r parts you could sell? I'm looking for an entire top end, cam chain, side cover with stator and oil cover and starter gear. Im really just starting at a $50 good bottom end with a frame and swingarm so i don't mind putting money into it.
the timing chain guide piece that was broken, did you fix that ?
No replaced it. Issue was chain. They ruined tensioner lmao

660 vs 700 dude!
Need help. I completely cleaned and rebuilt the OEM Mikuni carbs. Every piece of the carbs was replaced with OEM and a Dynojet kit. Pro circuit exhaust and open k&n filter. Sea level. 146/148 #25 pilots 3rd clip on needles and 3 turns out on fuel. Quad starts, idles and revs up awesome! I took it down the street and it rips! BUT I had a low rpm bog in 2nd gear. Any ideas? Maby a tad less fuel in left carb???
Any popping off acceleration an did you make sure your floats are leveled if it only does it on throttle then it sounds like a jet issue double check your jets make sure there the same size. you could always lower the needle height for less fuel as well. Remember main jet for throttle an idle jet for idle. mixture screw is set different an should be set to the machine. So set it to whatever the manual says an it’s usually slowly turn till it runs poorly an back off till it does the same an find the happy middle shouldn’t be the mixture screw tho. Sounds like your on the right path with the too much fuel somewhere. Could be your float is a little wack on one side of the carb just a hair off can make it feel weird
An does it do it cold hot or always if it does it always then it’s prolly something to do with the carbs if it does it when it’s cold then there’s your issue let it warm up a tad valves can cause issues but it doesn’t sound as if that’s the problems compression test would help an adjusting the valves is relatively easy as well if it starts hard or has hard starting then it could be valves. An that’s a whole other mess of diagnosing but relatively easy as well

Hey guys i know this vid is old but i got a 2003 raptor with 686 in it i put new carb new jets 160/165 turn the dial 3 turns on the first carb and 2 on the second the battery is new but it wont turn on any help will be highly appreciated

@@Daszebi98 just go with anything full an you won’t have complaints just a muffler won’t really change much an make sure you get the recommended jetting as well an follow others steps in tuning the quad when you do removing the baffle will just annoy people an make it sound more Ruff
