almost 2 months in and I got 4c hair. My hair went down to under my eye before I started dreading it with a sponge, and what I did was I just used a crochet hook to combine my dreads that were too skinny today, worked out nice.

Honestly I think the main reason for people to mat their hair is because it’s an efficient way to keep all our hair

ElJudas25 is it more like a wave or does it curl around in a lock? Like you could stick a pencil through the lock where as with a tiny wave you will have a lot of difficulty locking it.

Name Name they not just maintain them and take care of them they can be very clean and healthy
Like any style you have to maintain a regimen and believe it or not locs are a high maintenance style. It doesn’t just grow out of your head loc’d, you wash it and manipulate it to grow the way you want it to be. You keep it oiled, control the frizzies and tie it up at night or sleep on a silk pillowcase to prevent breakage. For me personally it is a spiritual journey and the BEST decision I’ve ever made.
