So very minor thing to point out: The Misbegotten Crusader AoW attack uses the CRUCIBLE spell icon and coloration, not the GOLDEN ORDER spell icon and coloration
3:25 Funny Story, I thought that bosses cloak was a regular drop and I farmed that shit for like 6 hours before I googled and found out it was a specific dungeon loot
It seems like they were trying the make an unique fight with Astel, Stars of Darkness, but they run out of time before they could made it work properly and decided that it was better to just reuse the first Astel.
@@BertoPlease maybe it was a revamped version of the Crystal Sage fight, with the clones thing, but it didn't work that well with such an enormous enemy as Astel, plus the endgame damage scaling of Elden Ring
I can't help but notice the name "Starts of darkness". it's plural. perhaps this one was meant to continuesly spawn in other astels as part of a phase transition.
WHOA that spell sigil is super Interesting! it even had movement animation to it, looks like an Albunauric specific pattern from the silver color & ripples
@BertoPlease and @gwonamtimetraveler This is just the same spell sigil they've been using since demons souls. They added some distortion effects to it in ds1 to make it seem like chalk? But other than that, it's been the same, even has the little face to the side. The textures are not there in retail, but they were in the network test and 1.0, so that mystery is solved now. All 3 spell sigils from ds3 were included in the files, so i thought it was just leftover test stuff. Also, fun fact dsr has all the spell sigils at 1024px, so they're higher res than even elden ring.
@@RayanTheModder ahh interesting. It's weird bc they made all the other sigils and still used this one, but I guess it makes sense why they cut it with that in mind
If you want to divide the Haligtree into two parts you should probably split it into the Haligtree Canopy and Haligtree Town in one part and then Elphael itself as a second part.
There's a spot in the snowfields where three ghost Dragonkin Soldiers endlessly respawn, did those even exist in 1.00? Apart from that I don't have much to say about the Snowfields. Mohg best boss, can't wait for some NIHIL.
if i remember correctly in earlier versions the invisible bridge of haligtree secret path there was a gap that you had to jump ,and at one point they removed the gap 🤨
curiously I wonder if Miyazaki originally planned to create a proper full dedicated school of frost/ice spells but ended up deciding not to so instead we have 6 spells that do frostbite buildup? but all belong to different sects, Ranni's Dark Moon being a full moon sorcery while the rest are "Snow Witch Sorceries" (on fextra) tho they dont all feel like they belong to one dedicated school, Adula's Moonblade and the Zamor Storm being the outliers imo, genuinely wonder if he wanted to make a more dedicated school for it and thats what the symbol the wolves produced was for, regardless Miyazaki clearly chose to not pursue it and scrapped the idea and symbol
Yeah i find it almost weird that they dont all fall into one school, even if some are related to different factions. I mean some of the fire spells are giants related and some are not but they still kinda count as the same thing anyway
I kinda like how instead of elemental schools of magic we have disparate factions that all saw some value in elements like fire, ice, magma, and so on and wrote their own spellbooks. Better than trying to headcanon why this fire mage is different from my last one in Skyrim.
@@hardgay7537 lmao good reasoning there and yeah honestly it's really nice how theres a lot of distinct differences and not every type of spell is only in one faction or school but some are because they were purely developed there, its really well done the different factions for each spell category each with their own unique insignia aswell
For the runes i got 2 "Hero's Rune" and 3 "Lord's Rune" above the hero ones. Below the hero rune were "Antient Rune [1]" (i only found the first one so far) so I'd assume there are 1-4, as the rest all came in from 1-4 except the "Pauper's Rune" so far
I got the chest and hood pieces from killing all the black knives. However my Arcane was 26, and I did not get the gloves after clearing the area the first time, unfortunately.
@@BertoPlease one detail I forgot about the walking mausoleum in castle sol and the consecrated snowfield are glitched. If you use one the other glitches out and will not work. Apparently some bug happened that connects the two together so using one will count as using both so you lose one remembrance dupe unfortunately in 1.00.
More than likely, that's a cut out magic symbol rune due to frost magic being associated with Ranni in release. If no other frost stuff uses it then it's likely some sort of Nox/Albinauric one and is better suited to topics like the Black Moon of Nokstella that was lost. We're never told who guided the Nox, but reasonably it's Ranni's mentor.
the misbegotten didn’t just have a particle change, the erdtree sigil was there in 1.00 instead of the fundamentalist sigil in post release and it also appears in a slightly different spot
it's funny that the release has so much less equipment you would need to farm for. Clearly they know people hate farming, if only they took the care to do that for more items like the clayman's harpoon
Sounds like bias from Theodorix themselves 😤 In all seriousness that'd make sense to me as well, especially with how many differences there can be in English itself, with the different part of the world (color vs colour), it's probably a non-issue really. But I do recall being taught that the "s's" isn't how you do it, so maybe some school systems have their own opinions about it too
@@BertoPlease The no double apostrophe s thing is a universal rule only when it comes to plural markers of ownership or traits (Like say, the humans’ power). So I assume it kind of goes like this: some wanted consistency for the no double s thing, while others wanted plural vs singular constancy.

ER has a huge recycling problem but reusing big bosses just like Mohg, Astel, Margit and Godrick (+kinda the Beast Clergyman and Godfrey) pretty much killed the immersion for me completely. I wish they would patch those out. It’s awful design in a great game.
I like some of the recycles, margit for example makes sense and tbh so does Godfrey, but shit like sewer mogh and godefrey especially really does kill those bosses for me I agree.
