Going beyond 1.0 and looking into the game files shows that BB was supposed to be different in a lot of ways. Probably because of having to meet ps4 launch, they had to edit a lot of things. That being said, I wish we could get some of the cut content in a potential remaster, but I know it’s never going to happen. For example, cainhurst was supposed to be way larger.
I was playing this on an older Plasma TV when it was released at a friend's house. Some say the Bloodborne logo is still burned into that screen to this day.😱😱
The item duping glitch caused me and my brother so much confusion and pain, we were playing concurrently on two different characters at different times (the poor ps4 never got rest lol) and we we're constantly like "what happened to my vials/bullets"
I don't tend to play games close to their realse date, but it's really cool when I do and come back to them after months/years and notice all the little changes, or at least feel that somehting's different. Just additional fun
I'm surprised you didn't mention the floating statue in Old Yharnam. That thing always drove me nuts. Also, I think the muffled sounds in the hall in Upper Cathedral Ward still happen on current patch, but it's been a long time since I've gotten the chance to play Bloodborne so I might be mis-remembering.
It may have already been said but all the NPC summons in bloodborne were summoned using the beckoning hunter's bells at their respective note locations.
I had no internet for a couple months like a year ago due to being way out in the middle of nowhere. I got a PS4 and brought a few random games to play along, one of them was the OG bloodborne disc. So I actually did a pretty normal playthrough of BB 1.00. Very nearly got platinum, just didn't manage to get through all of the Loran chalices before I returned to civilization. I do recall quite a few differences to current patch, excited to sorta relive that here.

Bloodborne has bad map load times. The door from Cleric beast used to open, but the map didn't have time to load, so they closed the door permanently, and made the Tomb of Oedon to the cathedral have a long ladder to give time to load the Cathedral ward map.
@@Rhetorical346 You do realize they can make up those justification after the fact, right? They can have a technical issue reason for doing something and give it an in-world explanation.
One notable thing about 1.00 that I'm not sure this video covered (wasn't paying full attention, sozzy o~o) is that you can i-frame through frenzy procs by dodging with good timing. This is especially valuable because frenzy procs in 1.00 dealt *90%* of your Max HP instead of only 70%, making it all but guaranteed to kill you instantly if you fail to avoid the damage. Edit: I also noticed in your video another little thing that wasn't brought up: the Watchdog of the Old Lords has a typo in its name, referring to it instead as Watchdog of the Old Lord (singular rather than plural).
Interesting, I do remember some of the changes being addressed in changelogs back then. Also I recognized some of the 1.00 things being in the game when I played it on release
Can’t watch the video until I finish BB but will look forward to it when I can. A dive into Fromsoft games like this is always interesting. Seeing little or big changes in item placements or old lore and translations and all that can be fun. I love that along with cut content stuff in games even if it’s frustrating to know when cool things didn’t make the final cut in a lot of my favorite games.

I recently investigated about DS1 1.00 version and damn. I though that PCR nerf was the biggest one they ever made, but I was completely wrong! From Bosses giving 1/5 of current Souls, more health and dealing more damage to Curse status being able to stack up until 16% of your health pool. Blacksmiths not selling you most titanites, or not receiving a humanity after defeating a boss. I even heard (this idk if it was true) that BoC didn´t saved its progress, you originally had to go all the way trough. Jesuschrist, if DS1 was never nerfed on patch 1.05 I would even say that not even Sekiro would even come close to its difficulty.
That Titanite one is interesting to me because a big complaint I have with DS1 as is is that you're way too reliant on merchants and random drops for acquiring titanite. I wonder what the intent of the developers for players getting their weapon upgrades was if not even the blacksmith gave you stuff originally.
As far as I can tell, quests will only be messed up if you use the lamp in the forest. Because I used the Cookie glitch a bunch for early Evelin, and I could always do the quets even if I want down into the swamp for the loot.
Actually, the Patches / Tonsil Stone thing isn't a bug. It's so you can't miss the tonsil stone. From a lore perspective, it means he's literally stalking you from when you reach the Forbidden Woods. And as he seems to know and understand the Nightmare Frontier, the Mensis Ritual, the chalice dungeons, and the Amygdala, it's safe to assume he can infiltrate any house he wants.
@07:52 the backstab noise also does not happen on certain enemies in the chalice dungeons. and THESE mobs also appear in the chalice dungeons, maybe there is a bug since these are enemies that can appear in Story areas AND in Chalice Dungeons.

Regarding the chalice boss AI being more loopable, if I remember didn't early Bloodborne have a memory leak that caused this to happen to bosses if the game ran for too long? Just thinking of possible causes compared to the normal versions.
I'm unsure if it's a 1.00 exclusive thing, but right-hand weapons which can shoot when transformed deal the full flat Arcane to them through Bloodgems, per bullet. So the Reiterpallasch becomes similar to the Blacksky Eye with a full stack of +flat Arcane, and Rifle Spear... Well, it's A Call Beyond. Which you can aim. And costs one blood bullet.

The first part isn't true. The door is locked on purpose, and has a story reason to be locked.

yeah it happens, but more often when you climb the ladder, it0s very rare for it to happen when you're just running on the bridge.
I appreciate the visual indicators of which version is on screen, that's surprisingly common to be unintuitive.
