I urge anyone who is thinking about riding PBP to watch Eric's entire series on the subject. Each episode goes into all the detail you would ever need. I found it very absorbing and a wonderful source of info, from someone who has ridden it many times. Eric - one subject to perhaps cover this time around might be the mental preparation that's needed. Of course, physical fitness it vital, but also what's between the ears!
Absolutely. Knowing how to do the ride is at least half the battle--maybe more. There are plenty of "strong" riders who would not be able to finish PBP, because they don't understand what's involved and/or don't have the mental toughness.
