Will have to look out for you at PBP - a tall ask there are many 1000s of riders! Nice to see inside De Proloog - I was there at RAtN too! The frozen water bottle... you may find that if you stop pedalling and turn the bottle cap you can still drink the water. I had to do that last week when the same thing happened to me - I really really needed a drink!
wow I admire your competitive spirit, not even the cold stops you, you are a very brave and persistent girl, every day you improve more and more, I am sure that it is the result of a great effort, you are an example to follow and please continue sharing your videos and rewarding experiences not only sports but life, greetings buzzalong girl!!!!!
Congrats! My bicycles are waiting for the spring 😁. If you make the 200,300,400 and 600 km on the same year you can get the ' Super Randonneur' 's medal 🥉
I ride in Arizona where it is very hot. I have ridden about 2 km in 120 degrees ferhenheit just to feel it! It was very hot and dry. As a desert the Phoenix area is not a place to mess around in the late sring to fall. May to October is often hot and usually dry. I love it but have lived at least 40 years!
I thought that the qualification brevets serie must be completed during the year of PBP (I don't talk about the pre qualification brevets). I did two PBP and always completed the serie from March to June. Anyway, congrats and I will fallow your journey to this wonderful experience which is PBP..
For our 200km, from Chartres on 12th March (100km from Paris) , it was -1C as well, it snowed while I was on the way to it in the car, but got above freezing quite quickly so we didn't have problems with frozen water bottles.
Do you know the Winterfiets elfsteden? It's the 15th of January and with 205km it's going through the same 11 cities as the famous skating tour. It starts in Leeuwarden. I will be riding on a Kickbike Race Max 28/28, so very recognisable. It is a bit expensive maybe, but some money is going to a good cause. Sunday, I rode with -6C and with isolated bidons. I did warm water in them, but after 1,5 hours, it was also slush puppy inside. I drank the last bit and swapped the bidon with that in my backpack.
Are fenders no longer mandatory on the brevets anymore? I know Paris-Brest-Paris used to have a mandatory fender require back in the 80's but maybe it no longer applies.
thanks, it was not mandotry in this brevet or any of the other ones I have done. How ever I got now fenders mounted on my bike, makes riding in bad weather better :)
Just wondering, if riding in sub zero temperatures, how do you make sure that you don’t ride on ice? Surely there’s some part of the road that has frozen and slippery for the bike. *i’m targeting for PBP as well. So far done 400 and 300 brevets for the new season. 200km and 600km brevet left to be done. See you in PBP!
Thanks for your comment :) It was tricky with the ice on the road but I use conti 32mm tyres, they have a really good grip so did not have many issues riding with this weather. See you at PBP.
You should do it again but on the next time put your water bottles in side your jacket close to your body before you start as it would be very bad if you dehydrate. Best wishes Gordon
Thank you 😊 so happy it inspired you to take on this amazing challenge together. Good luck for the event, I am sure you will enjoy the amazing landscapes there
I've done PBP three times, and am now 64yrs of age.....there is no way I would do a 200km in those temperatures. No way. Respect to you!!!
thank you so much :) looking forward to PBP

The weather you encountered is what we call 'schijtweer' 😂
😂 yeah not the best one
Nice video! I see I'm not the only one with the wrong date (2021) on the card. :)
Thanks :) I did no realised that ^^
@@Buzzalong.cycling the date of the online administration seems to be correct, so no worries for the road to PBP 😉

Thank you, sounds cold but hope you enjoy it :)
At 8:38, what bottle holder is used to hold dual bottles alongside the Apidura? Thanks!
Thanks, it is the BACKLOADER WISHBONE, from topeak, really good
@@Buzzalong.cycling Excellent..thank you!
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow, you guys are really dedicated cyclists. We wimp-out here in Canada and put on our snowshoes and skates, and go ice fishing.
Thank you William :) not many fish in the canals
Well, your water froze .... but the important thing is ....did the Haribo get too hard to eat? Well done.
yes ^^ the Haribo froze and were a bit difficult to eat

Fun. Laughing about a frozen water bottle in sub-zero temps. Hard core!
Thank you :)
See you in Paris on August!!
see you :)
How was the road, not icy? Did you feel safe with the grip of the tires?
it was icy, but luckly i had chunky tyres 32mm cont i500
the first brevet 200 km is the first step for paris / brest / paris congratulations
Thank you :) I just pregistered for it

0:59 Finally! We found it! She has a weakness! My only fear is that after one winter here in Canada she would get used to riding at -10C.
yes, I am not a fan on super cold rides ^^
Good 🎉
thanks :)
You should do it again but on the next time put your water bottles in side your jacket close to your body before you start as it would be very bad if you dehydrate. Best wishes Gordon
Good idea 👍 thank you
Still wondering how you gonna manage PBP and TCR in one go. Haha.
First I have to get into TCR 😂
@@Buzzalong.cycling Well you are already basically in it by applying.
Hey what camera do you have on back?
I have the Canon M6 mark II :)
If Simon Bolivar had a road bike...will be Buzz Along around Latin America :))
Maybe one day 🚲 we will soon make a trip to Colombia
RESPECT footnote: frozen water better than broken water ?
Thanks :) indeed
Jesus Christ... How do you ride in that weather??
Those conditions are perfect for black ice. I wouldn't be riding, too dangerous.
Thanks :) went ice skating last weekend instead of cycling, really fun
Brrrr... WAY too cold for me. My feet would freeze off.
yes ^^
Your channel came a long way. You inspired me and my wife to do the B-Hard together. It will be my wife’s first ultra
Thank you 😊 so happy it inspired you to take on this amazing challenge together. Good luck for the event, I am sure you will enjoy the amazing landscapes there
