Eric made a great and comprehensive series of every topic under the PBP sun. Extremely valuable. You would be an idiot to take part and not to watch the videos. I found them enormously useful for which im eternally grateful.

You two are a riot! I love seeing people having fun on bikes. PBP is on my bucket list now.

Living in France I can tell you the French adore cycling (even if more from an armchair perspective) and even more so the Tour de France, every year there are millions of people lining the roads very enthusiastically cheering the riders on whatever the nationality. It's indeed the same for PBP, even if the event is a 'couple' of notches down from the TdF, they are happy, proud etc to welcome, encourage everybody with cheering, clapping and offerings of free refreshments in this act of endurance. They are doing their best to make the experience more of a memorable event.

Eric, very useful videos, thank you. Have you ever ridden or considered riding LEL?

Just curious - were you able to do PBP this year?

I was there providing support to the American riders (and a few others as well). My friends and I ran the drop bag service that carried 310+ bags to Loudeac for the riders. A lot of work! We were almost as tired after almost a week's work as we would have been if we had done the ride!

Excellent. Love your videos from previous events and very much looking forward to your series about photos and videos on the bike!

Does talking friends out of their misery and back on the bike count as being productive time? :-) No really, at some point you have to decide you're moving on without them as hard as it is to leave a friend behind. (a true friend would understand, but what if s/he rides on without you).

That’s definitely something to talk about ahead of time with your ride buddy. I’ve had to do that myself (leave *and* get left), but it was not a big deal since we had talked before the ride.

Do you load the PBP 2023 route on Wahoo or your Garmin? Is there an official route to download. I have a Wahoo. Thanks

I didn't turn on my garmin once during 2019. Its extremely well signposted, people at the controls wave their hands, people line the route plus of course there will be 8000 others taking part. I promise that you won't be alone and won't get lost. Have a good ride.

@@johnpart8229 Thank you. But is there a route posted somewhere that I can download onto my Wahoo?

Ride with GPS has the route to download! See you in August! I use the technology not only for directional purposes. Thanks again

When Iast rode PBP in 2011, I was very glad that I had the route on my gps in the middle of the night in the rain. So were the several other riders who followed me like I was the pied piper. Hopefully, the signage is better now but I will be bringing my Garmin with the routes loaded.

Another tip, don't ride and film with only one and on handlebar.
