- Enjoy great steam action as Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 “Big Boy” #4014 travels between Parsons, Kansas and Houston Texas.
See 4014 as she goes down the old Katy on her way to Fort Worth. You’ll see the giant Big Boy passing through rural Oklahoma and crossing the Red River into Texas.
Watch a great Ft. Worth departure as the Big Boy works through Tower 55 and travels on the old SP through central Texas, passing Texas A&M University and the quaint old town of Navisota. Huge crowds came out to see the Big Boy, and 4014 did not disappoint. If you’re a Big Boy fan or enjoy large steam locomotives, you’ll want to watch today!
An old train.
An old car.
An old bitty.
I needed all three on my Nostalgia Bingo card.
4014 3985 and 844 are WWII vets
Я их обожаю😊❤ смотрю все фильмы ваши про эти паравозы.
You bet they are!
I salute the people who designed, built, worked on, drivers and firemen, and just everyone involved from day one. Here's a BIG CHEER to you all.
4014 and 844 together is a vibe
Great engine. History. So pleased UP decided to restore and tour.. Nice vid
Dear Fellow Americans, The Men that restored these two beautiful locomotives did it on volunteer hours after a regular shift at the Locomotive Repair Shop. These cars and locomotives are signs of American Greatness. Please remember that this is the Attitude that made America # 1…..
20 feet away says someone and that lady walks closer to the tracks 😂. It is great to see old iron like this still operating. I wish they would come to NC in the future.
I always love grocery shopping and shopping and malls.
I'm always impressed of street running trains, wonderful! Greetings from the Netherlands! 😉
The one thing I loved the most that 4014 did for this outing in 2021? Sporting of course brand new Cylinder Covers on it. ^^
Which if you ask me... they do look so noice on the Big Boy. :)
Hello Big Jack.
29:50 Oh yeah, there is always one. When I was getting a runby out of Lawrence, KS, this lady was standing a few feet from me, saw my camera where I placed, and even said hello. And SHE STILL WALKED IN FRONT OF IT as 4014 was rolling by. Like UUUUUGGGGHHHHH 😂
37:21 sadly this scene is now but a memory as of November 2022 Tower 55 was demolished just like Tower 60 before it even though the tower is gone it will still be referred to on the timetable as Tower 55
Indeed my friend
@@Texasrailfan89 for the last two years before the tower was demolished I was given the opportunity to take pictures of it close-up as I rode on Amtrak trains 21 and 22 the Texas Eagle as I crossed the diamonds I took good photos of the Tower and even the site of the tower after it was demolished it’s surprising that the solar plate was the only thing that didn’t get removed

I was there at the telge road railroad crossing. At 59:00 2 years ago in August of 2021. The second I saw the Union Pacific 4014 in person. Also I found myself in the video.
I was standing right behind you in Fort Worth when rhe 4014 arrived.
Oh wow, small world!
4014 will tour the Pacific Northwest in 2025, but it's also great to see it tour the south as well.
@34.28 I remember that evening. I was just a little over from where the camera is positioned. Fun time!
Very nice! I was there all three days it was stopped in Ft. Worth. Was almost on your camera, too!
21:58 And don’t forget, The auxiliary tenders were named after 2 members involved with the steam program notably in the 90s. (Or so I was told)
Happy Thanksgiving, Les!
Same to you! Happy Thanksgiving AC!
It's a sad thing that Steam Engines can't be more powerful without destroying our atmisfere, so they don't have to go away. I love watching the steam Trains run. That includes those that are for riding on like those in Train Museums.
I wanted to see if Big Boy really kinda went in 2 directions when it ran around a corner. You showed the 4014 Train in Navasota. I looked to see if it really did. I wish you'd make a video about how the Magnificent Train actually works. I always loved Trains. From the Trains in New Your, and New Jersey. I expect to watch this, and other Train Videos more than once, and I'm wanting to also see that articulation you said went around curves. I play Pixel Federation's "Train Station 2, and other Train Games, but many are designed to empty pockets of many like myself. Thanks Again for the great history video of the Big Boy 4014, and I'm looking for more like it. Godspeed, and Good Luck, and thanks for the great job. BTW (BY-THE-WAY): I don't have, can't afford home Internet, so I watch these videos on my BLU PRODUCTS G9 PRO CELLPHONE WITH ANDROID 10. Thanks Again.
Happy Thanksgiving Les!
That's real cute! Your thing about your Bingo Card.

24:50 it doesn't get much better than that!
Remember a' grow "Them Brocc" Sun, heard it in a tanka broccoli time swenje.
Intro has nice view of Sawtooth Mountain on White Pass & Yukon narrow guauge.
I find this very interesting. When I saw the UP big boy in North Platte this year I didn’t see the chalk that said Big Boy with the V under it. Makes me think 🤔
I was right there with ya at Joe Pool Lake at 43:56!!
Wow! We meet again!
Excelentes videos,me gustan, estas locomotoras me recuerdan mi niñez.
Wow, love watching❤❤❤❤
Those auxiliary water tenders were not steam locomotive tenders. They are fuel cars (tenders) from the UP gas turbine engines built in the 1950's and 60's. They were called the "Big Blows" and were all retired by 1970.
That is the problem with UP steam, there are too many non railfans out and then sometimes that makes other railfans have to really cut around other fans for a shot. which in turn means no one has a nice clean shot. But at times (like when it arrives somewhere) it can make for a really cool scene.
The best way to get a new railfan is to start with a non-railfan
❤
You forgot another reason why there's the diesel
Because there's not as many places to stop to refuel
I only know that because of another video talking about the 4014
But to be honest, I would prefer to see them build a diesel that doesn't look like one. So it looks like 40 14 is moving on its own to make it look better with no diesel behind it
I am from California.

Hey Railway Productions I have a question for you have you heard about this year tour and I will see 4014 in Roseville when it arrives but I’m being patient for the schedule to be announced for the tour to start.
Yes, waiting on the schedule!
During the summer of 2021.

Here's a crazy story, all 1000% true. My birthday is the 15th and I went up to see 4014 for my actual 21st birthday. That's one helluva birthday present ain't it??
That was a FABULOUS present!

There's no broccolini or Broccoflaur despise...
Is it a Nissan?
They need to camouflage that diesel, so it looks like other cars, just ruins the vibe IMO

i seen people comment on why 4014 has a diesel helper i watched a video and the diesel has a ptc on it that big boy dont have positive train control it let them know where there at so theres no head on crash with another train its law ever train has to have one there working on getting one for big boy so it dont have to have a diesel helper
