Guys, did you know that Southern Railway 2-8-2 #4501 hauled the Circus World Museum Train throughout Wisconsin in 1973? I learned that from the Pentrex program, "Early Amtrak Across Wisconsin" [Which I have on DVD].
I have to admit I can see how the pneumatic bell ringer rod automatically rings the bell back-and-forth I actually like these better than the energize clapper on a bell it makes the bell look more cool
@@texasrailfanproductions9970 We’ve had this whistle for a while. It’s just a Nathan 6 chime. We have used a few different ones on 630 (Central of Georgia, Boston & Maine and L&N), and they all sound basically the same.
I've had the honor of seeing all three of them over the past 7 years.
I hope I make it in time for the premiere

Yes. Along with Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 4960 (A.K.A Grand Canyon Railway 4960), Grand Trunk Western 5629, and Chicago & Northwestern 1385.
Awesome video 🚂👍🚃
TVRM no longer has 5288. They sold it to a railroad in Pennsylvania.
Transferred ownership is more like it. They paid for shipping and that’s about it.
It's great to see lots of Southern Railway steam locomotives preserved, especially the ones shown here in this program.
is the Southern Railway Mikados.
Actually only one of those 3 is a mikado
@@kingofthemonsters3712 That's Southern 2-8-2 #4501.
@@kingofthemonsters3712 I Love them they are Mikados.
Starring 630 Donald.
52:16 a great shot of the 4501 doing what she was designed to do pulling freight cars

I’ve seen 4501 and 630, but I haven’t seen 401 in person. I doubt I ever will.
Amazing video ❤
630 and 4501 are tvrm's golden girls
Don't forget 610 it's in storage at East Chattanooga rn but she's a golden girl too!!
@@felonius_gru7312 why don't they restore her
@@rogerlollar4325 it's been 15 or 14 years since she was parked so she's just waiting for her required overhaul
@@felonius_gru7312 fire up 610
610 wasn't a southern locomotive but she served the army then when she arrived at tvrm she got painted with Tennessee Valley on her tender!

In 55:12, where is this Summerville located? The reason I ask is that there's a Summerville located here in South Carolina.😊😊😊😊
It in Summerville Georgia it’s a smallish town in north west Georgia I want to say maybe 1.5 hours to 2 hours north west of Atlanta
I can't wait for Santa Fe 2926 to be on the mainline now that it's running again.
In regards to 41:00 to 41:30 I swear to god, Georgia drivers drive like they got their drivers license from a crackerjacks box.
the whistle on 630 almost sounds like Texas State Railroad 500
The whistle here was a Boston & Maine 6 chime.
@@TravisDGordon did Texas State Railroad 500 have the same whistle?
