Welcome to my channel. I am a Diesel Mechanic and part time farmer working on the family farm situated in Southern Victoria, Australia.
On my channel expect to find a variety of farming and mechanical videos.
Our family has been farming in the area for over 140 years (4 generations).
On the current family farm of 600 acres (242 hectares), expect to see farming as it would have been done during the 1970/80's with farming equipment like the Massey Ferguson 3505 and Massey Ferguson 135 tractors, John Deere 955 (Combine Harvester) as well as sowing and tillage implements of the same era.
Our family also runs stock such as Dohne sheep, Angus cattle and some dairy cows.
My mechanical videos can vary from How-To's, working on my 79 Series Toyota Landcruiser and repairing farm machinery.
If you are into farming, farm machinery, mechanical videos, or if you just like looking at me, hit the button.

Things you might need when viewing this channel a rag covered in grease and hydraulic oil, a box of Arnotts barbecue shapes and a ice cold VB or red cordial.
Disclaimer, I may be a qualified mechanic but I hold the right make it up as I go and am not held responsible for issues arising from advise given in these videos. All mechanical repairs should be carried out by a qualified professional.

Thnx for the vid! This video gave me the confidence to tackle the relay rod on my 60. Mine was so rusted I needed to use your cold chisel method with an impact gun to break it free. I noticed in the 84' 60 manual it basically says to tighten down til it bottoms out and then back out 1 and 1/3 turns. Thought that info might be helpful to others too.

Can confirm this is also what the 70 series service manual says as well.

You should pull that drag link end apart and check that the spring is not broken.

Is this a long term fix? Or should I look into replacing or getting a rebuild kit for the ends once they are worn?
Great video, already tightened them up after we found the same knocking noise, just want to see how much more life they have after doing this

It’s more apart of servicing the vehicle so there will be a point where adjustment won’t take out the movement and the joint will be too worn, then it should be replaced. I’m not sure on how long it would take for knocking to come back depend on the driving conditions I guess.
      Thanks for the comment!

They were fine for the OLD Hilux. They wear out to quick on the V8 Especially if you have winch Bull Bar, Second Battery etc

They are not big enough. Toyota suck sometimes and this is one of them. I fitted Nissian rod end and superior bar

I ended up doing the superior upgrade earlier this year much better than the stock ones.
