I've owned a 2018 Mustang GT and now a 2021 Challenger 392 Scat Pack. Both great cars. Honestly I'd go with whichever car you can get for cheaper as they're both different but equally as good.
I bought one yesterday. 2021 Scat Pack widebody with T/A pkg, tech, plus, convenience pkgs. Loaded! It's an amazing car and I've had close to 100 cars and other SRT's. As solid as any car I've ever been in! For the price there is nothing better in the market!
It really is the funnest car I've ever owned. I was so hesitant to pull the trigger and was torn between the scat pack and the gt. Once I got behind the wheel I knew the challenger was for me. I haven't once regretted the decision.
Mustang might be quicker, handle better, and be more cost effective - but the Challenger just has more soul. You'll hear terms like "unrefined" "aged platform" "boat". To each their own, and its the only old, unrefined boat I want. 😅
I have a 2020 scatpack with the shaker hood, 6 speed manual, in frostbite. Love Mustangs and Camero, even owned a vette in my youth. This to me is the best pure muscle car it’s an absolute blast to drive

I would go for that car with a manual for the money. The Hellcats power is almost unusable on the street. The scat have hung around better than any Hellcat I've ran on the street. Unless you run 80-160....not doing that so I would take the scat for sure
Your absolutely correct how do I know, cause I had a 2015 Scat Pack and a 2018 Widebody Hellcat. From a dig it was near impossible to launch the Hellcat, if your at a stoplight and a possible run is next to you, you just can't do it, you will be fruitlessly spinning your wheels, sure the Hellcat has the name and the status and believe me got tons of thumbs up, controlling it was another story. In a 1/8 mile drag race, in stock form, the Scat will win every time. The Scat has more usable, tractable power, and having both, I know. I'm really considering getting a wide body Scat.
This car still looks so good. I will always give them an extra long look as long as it’s a 6.4 or 6.2 . I hope they are still around once I can afford one

I can testify that its cavernous trunk, easy chair seats and spectacular power make it a great GT car as well. I’m 69 and I remember well the first muscle car era; this car really brings those days back; it looks almost exactly like a 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda. It’s so gorgeous! It causes plenty of dropped jaws in parking lots!
picked up my 2021 scat pack 2nd of Jan... I do love it...manual of course......and Caramel seats..also White Knuckle..With the big brakes... the Challenger takes the Luggage that the Mustang and Camaro can't fit... and still have room for their kids in your back seat..but there was a small addition, Memory feature for the seat, radio, mirrors etc etc. also my Black calipers have SRT on them....did I mention averaging 35 MPH on the highway? lol
You don't need to change the design, it is rad as it is. I've been in my Challenger Scat for years, and I wouldn't want anything else. I upgraded from a 5.7 Shaker. Challengers are the best Modern Muscle out there, that is actually still a Muscle Car. I prefer narrow body myself, but Wide Body is super cool. 392 or Hellcat, as long as it's SRT!
No way. Shelby > Hellcat, Camaro SS > Dodge Scat Pack. This is regardless of those engine figures. Muscle car rank: 1) Mustang - America’s muscle car 2) Camaro - sells the least but is very sexy 3) Charger - good looking car 4) Challenger- hit with an ugly stick Not a lot of people are going to worry about a back seat in their muscle car. Naw the challenger look miles better than the competition. Looks like a true muscle car. They Chevy lost its mojo when the hellcat came out. That’s why sells are low plus the horrible 2019 facelift.

Also if you move the front seats up a little you can actually put an average adult(s) in the back seat ( for short rides). On infants can sit in the back of a Camaro. I test drove a Mustang GT and it was just so so.... Happy with the Scatpack so far!

I really love the design of these current Challengers that I'm so worried what would their next redesign would be! I hope they can make it better for next redesign but keeping those muscle car looks just like this one. If not, keep it just like this because it looks beautiful already in my opinion.

The best way to accelerate Scatpack / Hellcats while rolling is to hold down the downshift paddle for few seconds and let go then car gets into power band by dropping a few gears and then stab the throttle and see it fly.
Not only does this capture the true image of a muscle car the best, but the White Knuckle color just makes it look so majestic. I'd love to get one of these, but I have to wait and see what the refresh brings in a few years. Something tells me they won't change that much on the exterior considering it's nearly perfect in my opinion, but the interior will probably get the same treatment as the newly refreshed Durango's interior.
I had a choice between the widebody scat pack charger or mustang gt track package, went with the mustang because I would never pay $60k for a scatpack lol... I’m thinking about keeping the mustang for couple years than getting a super stock challenger or whatever dodge comes out with next!

Driving Ford for more than 20 years. Rebuilt a 71 Ford Mustang Coupe with a 351 Cleveland in the late 90's. Owned a new 2000 Ford Mustang and drove it for years and really loved it. I just purchased a brand new 2020 Dodge Challenger GT and everything Joe is saying is absolutely spot on. I wouldn't trade my Challenger in and go buy a turbo charged 4-Cylinder Mustang GT. The Challenger not only has that sweet look but also the stability and handling while driving feels the best. I have a company truck I drive during the week so this was a fun purchase to have something to drive on the weekend to my sisters house or my friends house so the V6 was all I needed. No racing going on. I love the 305HP 6.4L V6 engine. Definitely sticking with the Dodge muscle car line-up if they keep looking this sexy in the future.
Bought one on December 22nd. It's color is smoke show and I've had the mid mufflers deleted. I have Pilot Spot 4s's coming for it too - It's only money :) I've had a 2018 Scat Pack Charger and a Roush Supercharged 2019 Mustang. This car's more fun - It has better theatrics
I really like they way it looks in all these colors! I think F8 Green is my favorite though... I hope they never change the challenger too much, it is just so cool.
Great review man!! I just got a Go-Mango 2021 for my birthday! This will be my 4th Challenger in the past 10 years, but my first WB. Been trying to get my hands on one forever and I finally got it... I love that SRT lettering on the brake pads, its the one detail that sets it apart from the rest. Had the car for 7 days now and loving every minute of it! What an awesome ride! BTW I also agree with all your "Zonks" and "Twinkies" from all your reviews... LoL!!
Probably the most "out of the box" baddest looking and best sounding car out there. It's absolutely the most dedicated to the original car it emulates, compared to Camaro or Mustang. Handling and long term dependability (JD Power rates it very well for first year quality) are my only concerns. I've driven (and sold) these untamed beasts and that power does NOT "get old"! But the fuel bills sure do!😬

I bought a 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack a couple years ago after doing research for a year. I was actually hellbent on getting a Camaro 2SS...until I actually sat in one and drove it. Cramped interior, wasn't a smooth ride to my cheeks, and didn't like suspension/shifting, either. Fast, don't get me wrong, but otherwise disappointing. I drove an SXT(base model) Challenger not too long after....and loved it. Great sight lines and space in it, and the feel of driving it and accelerating even with the low-end model blew me away...I was in love. Bought my scat pack a few weeks later, no regrets.
@7:04 I know that you're not exactly a big fan of the shark-fin antenna but it's somehow appropriate for Dodge's muscle cars, more sinister than a plain old hockey puck.
Everything just fits on this car. I rather have it in Red or Black. But the white is not ugly by any means. It's sick how different cars are priced in different countries. In my "homeland"(Norway) we're looking at at least 150K. The Deamon came out at almost 400K. Again, thanks for the tour ! 😊👍

I had a choice between the widebody scat pack charger or mustang gt track package, went with the mustang because I would never pay $60k for a scatpack lol... I’m thinking about keeping the mustang for couple years than getting a super stock challenger or whatever dodge comes out with next!

@First Last You're right. But as popularity of pony cars increased the cars themselves grew in size and power to the point where there was no difference between a muscle and a pony car.
Driving Ford for more than 20 years. Rebuilt a 71 Ford Mustang Coupe with a 351 Cleveland in the late 90's. Owned a new 2000 Ford Mustang and drove it for years and really loved it. I just purchased a brand new 2020 Dodge Challenger GT and everything Joe is saying is absolutely spot on. I wouldn't trade my Challenger in and go buy a turbo charged 4-Cylinder Mustang GT. The Challenger not only has that sweet look but also the stability and handling while driving feels the best. I have a company truck I drive during the week so this was a fun purchase to have something to drive on the weekend to my sisters house or my friends house so the V6 was all I needed. No racing going on. I love the 305HP 6.4L V6 engine. Definitely sticking with the Dodge muscle car line-up if they keep looking this sexy in the future.

Great review man!! I just got a Go-Mango 2021 for my birthday! This will be my 4th Challenger in the past 10 years, but my first WB. Been trying to get my hands on one forever and I finally got it... I love that SRT lettering on the brake pads, its the one detail that sets it apart from the rest. Had the car for 7 days now and loving every minute of it! What an awesome ride!
BTW I also agree with all your "Zonks" and "Twinkies" from all your reviews... LoL!!

Probably the most "out of the box" baddest looking and best sounding car out there. It's absolutely the most dedicated to the original car it emulates, compared to Camaro or Mustang. Handling and long term dependability (JD Power rates it very well for first year quality) are my only concerns.
I've driven (and sold) these untamed beasts and that power does NOT "get old"! But the fuel bills sure do!😬

I bought a 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack a couple years ago after doing research for a year. I was actually hellbent on getting a Camaro 2SS...until I actually sat in one and drove it. Cramped interior, wasn't a smooth ride to my cheeks, and didn't like suspension/shifting, either. Fast, don't get me wrong, but otherwise disappointing. I drove an SXT(base model) Challenger not too long after....and loved it. Great sight lines and space in it, and the feel of driving it and accelerating even with the low-end model blew me away...I was in love. Bought my scat pack a few weeks later, no regrets.
The Scat Pack Challenger with a manual is the only Muscle Car still alive. So by default, yes.

I know that you're not exactly a big fan of the shark-fin antenna but it's somehow appropriate for Dodge's muscle cars, more sinister than a plain old hockey puck.

Everything just fits on this car. I rather have it in Red or Black. But the white is not ugly by any means. It's sick how different cars are priced in different countries. In my "homeland"(Norway) we're looking at at least 150K. The Deamon came out at almost 400K. Again, thanks for the tour ! 😊👍
