I really agree with milliput. The superfine white is worse about sticking to your fingers than the regular stuff with the red outlined box. If you want to give it another shot id say go for that stuff instead

Another nice Video. For your miliput problems. Your miliput and fingers look really dry will kneading. Try it next time with always wet hands/ fingers so it doesnt stick. The miliput can also get wet to help kneading.

I actually saw Brent from goobertown hobbies do something similar in an old video of his. I’ve been using contrast paint for stone ever since, experimenting with different ways of using it. It’s funny I’ve ended up using contrast paints for so many things other than what they were marketed for. Except snake bite leather. That shit is Liquid gold.
@@ThisMiniSucks the contrast yellows are like manna from heaven, my Solland province Empire army are a breeze to paint now that the yellows of their sleeves and ribbons are so 1 step easy to do. The red, too, so damn good and you can almost leave it alone when you're done.

Really makes things pop, I got this one old 3rd ed chaos warrior with a flaming sword and the flames all picked out in the talassar blue are wonderful.
It's really nice to see those old models. I still have the Green Knight of Bretonnia in metal and never painted because I always thought there was no way I would do it justice. It's one of my favorite mini.
Green Knight! You have to paint it. It’s not doing anything justice sitting there all gray. that’s such a great model! Plus if you fuck up to bad you can always chuck it in isopropyl haha. A very nice video with cool editing. I started a tomb kings army this february, starting with a casket (actually the casket was the second model, the first was Apophas). Now i have reached almost 2000pt, mostly working towards the old world release. I can't wait to see more videos with the skelly boys
Great video dude, I'm glad Scott pointed me to it! For the Milliput, I would try Milliput Standard Yellow/Gray, as that is what most people use. I think the fact that you used the Fine White is what was giving you problems. It is still a bit messy but I think you'll find working with it is a lot easier. Hopefully that helps; I still prefer milliput over Greenstuff 99/100 times. Keep it up man! Love me some tomb kings!

@@ThisMiniSucks I've randomly ended up with your channel on my feed - this is a great video and I'm surprised I've not come across you sooner! 100% look at the Yellow/Grey milliput. It's still a bit on the messy side compared to green stuff but the white superfine has given me nothing but grief! I usually mix it in 1/3 yellow, 1/3 grey, 1/3 children's plasticine and it makes an absolutely fantastic basing material that is incredibly cheap. I got that tip from a Green Stuff World pattern roller guide and it's served me well for all manner of bases.

Awesome stuff here! I recently came into a bunch of NIB Tomb Kings (at just above retail price) and am weighing painting schemes and whatnot. Currently, I'm working on my first Tomb Kings models, a trio of Ushabti!
The end result screams, including the lich priest. The color choices and your additions put it over the top bar, especially how you adapted to missteps like the unexpected superglue. Fantastic work.

About the milliput, i use the standard stuff and it works like a dream, for like everything. Maybe the fine white is just a #€!&* to work with? Never tried, and seeing this i think i never will. Oh and you are so true about deathworld forest, my all time favorite green! Ofcourse nothing beats the hex pot goblin green, absolutely nothing touches that!

It honestly wasn’t thaaaaat bad. But some of the issues that came up during assembly are I think what gave me problems during painting the lich priest. Either way it was a good experience. I know the casket will be easier than the bone giant or skull catapult I have coming up. Those could be trouble … x_x

I love the old 90s undead mummies -- not actually part of the Tomb Kings range, but they would fit! I always thought it was strange how Tomb Kings had hardly any mummies (Queen Khalida Neferher is the only one, I think?)
Yeah I saw some of those when I was looking on eBay, I have a Khalida I’ll be painting up soon, but I was always wondering what the mummies were for. Why weren’t they tomb kings??
@@ThisMiniSucks Yep, they were basically tomb kings before tomb kings... I actually really love the 90s Undead army, combining mummies and vampires. Splitting them makes sense but is somehow less exciting -- or maybe that's just the nostalgia talking! Like you, I was really impressed by the level of detail in those old metal sculpts and ended up collecting the whole set of 8 from eBay. The mummies are from 1992 but are still so crisp and gorgeous.
Production on point. Personality is relatable af. Hard earned Sub from me. My first ever metal mini was the Tyranid Hive Tyrant from 3rd edition Warhammer 40k. Most recently, I got my hands on some Warmachine/Hordes minis that are pretty much all metal and painted up a Wold Guardian which I'm super satisfied with how it's coming along. Look forward to what you paint up next.

The key to milliput really is plenty of water, no matter the color. And at least its water and not vaseline like with greenstuff.
Also, coating your fingers and tools with petroleum jelly can make working with Milliput easier.

About the milliput, i use the standard stuff and it works like a dream, for like everything. Maybe the fine white is just a #€!&* to work with? Never tried, and seeing this i think i never will.

I think I should have worn gloves and maybe watched a video on how to use it first haha I’m sure I did it wrong. Isn’t there a company that still makes the old citadel paints, I forget what it’s called but apparently it’s the exact same stuff.

It honestly wasn’t thaaaaat bad. But some of the issues that came up during assembly are I think what gave me problems during painting the lich priest. Either way it was a good experience. I know the casket will be easier than the bone giant or skull catapult I have coming up. Those could be trouble … x_x

I love the old 90s undead mummies -- not actually part of the Tomb Kings range, but they would fit! I always thought it was strange how Tomb Kings had hardly any mummies (Queen Khalida Neferher is the only one, I think?)
Yeah I saw some of those when I was looking on eBay, I have a Khalida I’ll be painting up soon, but I was always wondering what the mummies were for. Why weren’t they tomb kings??
@@ThisMiniSucks Yep, they were basically tomb kings before tomb kings... I actually really love the 90s Undead army, combining mummies and vampires. Splitting them makes sense but is somehow less exciting -- or maybe that's just the nostalgia talking!
Like you, I was really impressed by the level of detail in those old metal sculpts and ended up collecting the whole set of 8 from eBay. The mummies are from 1992 but are still so crisp and gorgeous.

My first ever metal mini was the Tyranid Hive Tyrant from 3rd edition Warhammer 40k. Most recently, I got my hands on some Warmachine/Hordes minis that are pretty much all metal and painted up a Wold Guardian which I'm super satisfied with how it's coming along.
