I took Emily's course on Guitar, and I can say as someone who never even touched a guitar before hand, I now am a master at: Tuning... what was the other one? Oh yeah Playing, and Impressing. I am practically swimming in potential romantic partners because of Emily's very epic, super poggers guitar course!
After playing for nearly 30 years now, I decided to take Emily’s course too! I have decided that guitar is not for me…
@@neuchigenlol I like you
@@user-gj6rl7po9q ha! Thanks! I like you too!
Up to your armpits in potential romantic partners, you say?
@@cavvieira my armpits are positively drentched in mad potential romantic energy
String buffer on those Dunables are amazing. Especially when you adjust the mid stock super low.
Don't forget about the bridge nut.
Nah I kinda prefer it kinda high, probably cause I got my bridge nut modified
I took Emily's guitar course and now I know all about modes, means, and medians.
Are you sure you didn't take her maths course?
does the course teach standard deviation??
@@Mahbus I'm here for the simultaneous equations.
I learnt about the fridgey-anne scale. It's very cool.
Depeche Mode is the only mode I know of.
I like that sometimes this is an educational channel about effects pedals, sometimes a showcase of musical talent, and sometimes it's straight up a comedy show with a theme.
That guitar really does have a good midstock though
Quality string buffers as well
"Where do you put the booba?" I feel this. Unironically one of the reasons I love offsets like the Jazzmaster is they give enough room for them. Funnily enough Fender had a video with an artist who used a red Jazzmaster and she discussed how it's uniquely boob-comfortable too 😆 I mean it is a real struggle 100%.
Since 97% of.guitarists are males nobody ever takes the boobs into account 😭
As a male, I believe I have officially gained enough weight that boob placement is a real consideration for me now.
@@hclyrics definitely a logistical concern. Breast tissue is about as uncomfortable with getting compressed as your balls are, so imagine that on top of your existing trouble!
I really like her "hiding it" answer to putting it where it feels comfortable for her 😄
I don't know if you are just playing around, but the way you are holding the guitar at ~3:05 IS actually the approved Franklin G Beepergiessen method for trying to take a quick powernap without needing to relube your tertiary truss binders.
🤣
LMAO
[russ] "the midstock is real"
[em] "do you _promise_ the midstock is real"
[russ] "the midstock is real"
Seeing you immediately attempt to adjust the truss rod without even knowing where it is, let alone what it is, was very stressful lol.
I remember my ol' meemaw always used to sit me down and tell me "Boy, the key to a good relationship is truss rod."
Wise words😌👌
I like how well the guitar goes with her hair! Makes her look even cooler 😎
The multi-tone flannel is AMAZING i LOVE IT
why is nobody talking about how the guitar perfectly matches emily's hair??!
Advanced Guitar Anatomy 101: The Mid-Stock, The String Buffer and the Booba Shelf
That’s going to be covered in my next lesson!
Please may I cover the booba shelf? I feel like that is within my current skill set.
Booba shelf.
Isn't that what they call the top half of guitar body?
Saint Vincent has a signature guitar that directly addresses the boob issue because she said that always bugged her.
Strong mid-stock are an underrated necessity when faking guitar. That blooper bit was like an 8. Love it! Cheers guys!!!
I’ve been playing guitar since I was a teenager. Seeing you have fun and explore the guitar made me nostalgic for the first few times I played. I didn’t know anything yet, but, it was exciting.
Hilariously brilliant!! Dunable guitars & basses are so beautiful, and I love the experimentation of trying effects w/ an unfamiliar instrument. Awesome video. 🤩
That is a great guitar; I love any guitar with push/pull pots. You took to this thing just right too; started making good sounds right out of the box, like a musician would.
Has anyone had issue with there string buffer tensioning? Ive adjusted the secondary function as far as she’ll go. Maybe we can discuss this in an up coming course. Thank you
Honestly if the string buffer isn’t right it’s a deal breaker for me.
10/10 can recommend Emily’s course.
I love watching you with that guitar. I saw this in another video. I am guessing that this was before you did the "secret live stream" a week or so before this. I know all the parts of the guitar now. The bloopersphere is the best part of guitar playing. It makes me feel entranced as if I'm going to outerspace in a giant bubble of sound. I feel like I am powerful and in a pink cloud of beautiful love! Those pedals sound great! I'm not much of a fan of pedals but these do what synthesizers have done for decades. Now anyone with a way to plug their instrument of choice in can blast off into sonic spectrums never before imagined!
This was a joy to behold.
This is... a beautiful tutorial on the guitar! I'm so ready to finally get my guitar and work with the string buffer? :D Love this vid!
Emily: *plugs into chase bliss pedal, immediately finds the Knobs chord*
Yess
Hey Emily Hopkins and Russ! You never checked what was in the whammy barn! Ride ride ride!
I agree that guitars should have a boob shelf, and it's perfectly possible to design one in. I considered doing it for one of my custom guitar body designs, but as I don't have the required test equipment I never actually did so.
I've got a Dunable Cyclops DE... love it... the pickups are amazing... and I can't believe you guys didn't point out that the guitar literally has frikkin' CHTULHU pickups...
I can't beleive I've been playing barre chords wrong this whole time! I should have taken Emily's course ages ago!!
its true. every guitarist became one simply by owning one.
Wait are you saying that guitarists own guitarists in a recursive, Tower-of-Hanoi self-defining logic structure that collapses if the sequence reaches the beginning
‘Enough pedals til you sound like you know what you’re doing’ - I see you’ve heard of The Edge 😁
I would take your course. I’m not kidding. I had a guitar instructor back in the day. He was a great guitarist but I wish he would have literally not been aware of his skill; he got too cocky about it. He showed me how he thought the main riff to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Cold Shot” was. But it just didn’t sound right. His knowledge of musical theory and technical ability came up with a logical riff. But I could instinctively tell that Stevie Ray was playing something different. So I looked at the DVD to an Austin City Limits concert. Sure enough, I was right.
If you’re learning what you mentioned, I am so there. I’m not kidding; I’d like more information. I’m interested in those skills you mentioned.
That’s a way cool guitar. And of course you chose some awesome effects pedals.
I do notice that some ladies rest their boob in the waistline of the hourglass shape of the guitar. I notice of course because I’m a man and a great female guitarist makes her looks matter even more with the sounds she makes. You do look cool with that guitar and that shirt. You have a style all your own, harp or guitar - I’m here for it. You’re a down to earth lady and you and Russ have a great wholesome channel here. This channel is lighthearted, hilarious and the music is always beautiful.
I seriously would love to see you continue playing guitar, Emily! 🎸
This video is great! Also Dunable guitars are great.
I think y'all are great, I needed a good laugh on my lunch break! Emily looks so so cool.
U know somehow i can see Em playing a lap steel guitar 🤔😳
🤔
“Secondary functions” idk why but had me laughing. This will be fun to watch/learn
Yeah guitars aren’t terribly boob friendly, that’s one of the things I love about my Dean ML - Very Boob Friendly, doesn’t get in the way
Tone comes from the boobs, after all
Tone and volume nobs thé tone has a switch probably for a booste or to Split the 2 humbukers into a single coil pickup. You have juste a bridge without a tremolo or a floydrose that you see on métal shred guitares (van Halen Frankenstein strat).this on is a solide body double. The trusts rod is in the neck, you van see near thé headstock where are the tuning nobs. i Hope i helped you if you have any questions
i took emilys course on guitar, i am now an expert with keeping my mid-stock nice and minty fresh
You make it Look so EASY! sounds good.
Keep on shreddin’ Emily!
i am envious of your custom neon sign
freakin' awesome work guys, reviewing a guitar for the purpose of showing how awesome the pedals are is a stroke of genius!
I've been playing guitar for 30 years and I'm not this good. YET!
So good! Here for all of it!
It looks awesome! Matches you greatly
Russ lying to Emily about parts of the guitar is both funny and deals psychic damage.
The Microcosm at 5:00 was definately giving me Pink Floyd vibez!
"This is gonna look cool as fuck" - sounds like you know everything you need to about guitars! If you like how it looks you'll wanna play it more. Also St Vincent designed her signature guitar to accomodate the booba, it's a known problem
Honestly giving someone a guitar with a long feedback delay and letting them noodle is one of the nicest things you can do with the instrument. People just get in the zone experimenting and making cool and interesting sounds, without needing to know what they're doing at all. It's great
Nice 6-sting piccolo harp you got there.
I love the custom neon sign btw
Ah, this reminds me I have to have my mid-stock get checked out.
That all checks out 👍
You’ll be an amazing guitarist someday
I am seriously considering taking your guitar course even though I already know how to tune a guitar.
Beautiful guitar!
Let's go guitar reviews 🤘🤘
I love that Cyclops. Now, I insist that you learn guitar. You already have a better musical foundation and pedal collection than most people.
Hey Emily, quick question about the guitar? Whats your opinion on the twisty turny things? And what is up with the button thingy by the metal looking rectangular thing, does it make clicky noises?
Thanks.
I saw this briefly in another video, I thought it was a Wilshire Phantomatic. That would be a cool guitar for you to use with the varitone selector and kill switch.
Every video, her face is all cheek and smile, genetically designed to be sweet and kind looking, like the human equivalent of a Pomeranian that can play music
Lol, that was awesome! Made me want the H90
Me, a beer, and always the cheesiest smile when you post a new video! xx
When you were patting the strings I just completely lost it. 10/10.
I want this peddle and blooper now, been playing guitar for years and had 0 idea about these extra tools
ok but like real talk the h90 and microcosm sounded beautiful and now i really want them.
How many bits is the string buffer? Is it null terminated?
Gorgeous guitar! Hell if I could even dream of affording one of those though.
Most guitarists can work for a year and not even be able to afford one. Yeah I'm actually bitter af now
No fair of you pointing out the reasons I use the pedals I use! And I’ve allegedly been a guitar player this whole time . . .
Cool harp stick btw
So I’ve been playing guitar for a long time……aaaand……..…I want the course. I said it. I want it. (Side note: I think it’s right boobah in the guitars dippy bit in top)
You are absolutely perfection. Love your videos have a great day my friend
The Dossier on that guitar is amazing
This was a Spiritual Experience
Best guitar channel on UA-cam! 😀
Midstock, string buffer, Floyd Royce... Emily, you kick ass. :D
Emily, this is interesting. Maybe it will be my new technique. Teach as you are learning and the teaching reinforces one's own learning. its like a dairy of what all we learnt.
I like how this has the exact energy of videos of guitarists running random instruments through their effects for the first time, it's like i've slipped into a parallel universe where the TGP Boomers succeeded in conning everyone into thinking guitar straight into a t00b amp is the only way to play
I took Emily's guitar course I now I can understand string theory
I love the "custom neon sign" sign hanging on the wall
I do this kinda thing with the CB mood all the time. I been playing guitar for like 20 years i should really learn how to play.
God this video made me both infuriated and absolutely brimming with laughter and joy as a guitarist and bassist, 10/10
Stereo/mono was actually a great guess for the switch that engages one of the pickups.
The body shape is interresting, looks great !!
That's such a gorgeous guitar
I secretly took Em's course before she started offering it, and after over 30 years of playing guitar, I am finally good at impressing! The other two are probably beyond me tho...
Just effing about, you made some cool ambient stuff that's better than many pro recording artists.
Try the Riff Step with a Digitech Whammy pedal. Literally plays riffs for you!
Also the right falangi and the flux condenser are the strong features of that model
This was hilarious. Even more so than usual. 😂 Love it.
This guitar looks gorgeous :O
2:42 No more funny games. She's now asking the serious questions.
EDIT:
6:56 She found the boob shelf.
Em looks so cool with a guitar!
I love everything about that guitar!
Also, you’re adorable 😂
I NEED that H90. Holy quacamole.
Emily - Don't think anyone would have blamed you for going full El Kabong on the lads at the start of the vid ;-)
The stuff Emily played on the H90 is about 90% of what I play.
Plot twist: Emily's actually really good at guitar and she's just trolling us in the most epic way possible.
