      I own two dunable cyclops customs. I sold my 6 Gibson SGs and just kept my original 1962 Gretsch Corvette because it is what made me want one in the first place

    Nice, recognized it right away, when I saw Intronaut I asked their other guitarist what guitar are they playing, they both played this one, and he said Sasha made them himself, pretty cool to see he is selling them now

    I really like the look of Dunable guitars, really nice and simple, yet elegant guitars. I think I'd go as far as to say that's the best tone I've heard from your channel. Has just the right amount of cut, crunch and bottom end. Clear but thick sounding.

      @singer3188 7 років тому +8

      I agree that this guitar seems fairly priced I was looking at the Devin Townsend signature with Framus That thing is like $8000 waaaay too much if you ask me. I guess I was never meant to own it

    • @awertyuiop8711
      @awertyuiop8711 7 років тому +1

      Oh, well. You just don't expect that price on a *apparently* simple guitar. If the construction quality is excellent, I'm not complaining then.
      However, I'd prefer spending that amount of money into something that gets closer to my actual needs (maybe an Ibanez M80M [yeah, I'm a Meshuggah fan])
      Edit: With the he last $200 I'd buy a DAW & plugins for recording (like BIAS FX)

      singer3188 good news is that Devin said in one of his gearwhore episodes that they're looking at making an affordable Stormbender, somewhere between 1-2k I think. Here's hoping, because I'd love one too.

  • @johnathan.jerusik
    @johnathan.jerusik 6 років тому +1

    I don't know why people are freaking out over the price. Dunable is making them by hand and custom to whatever you want. I feel like people get bent out of shape because it doesn't say fender or Gibson on the headstock. I own one of his pickups and I am totally impressed by it. If you wanted and custom in a fender Gibson or even PRS shop expect to pay 2x if not 3x as much as what dunable is offering. Ryan you did an awesome job as always! And people need to relax!

    The comments section of this video is painful. Yes, it's $1800. It's a boutique guitar, that's not a bad price at all. It's one dude making them, they aren't being stamped out at WMI. I got the opportunity to play one of these a while ago and they're great, much nicer than Schecter stuff for example, which is also fantastic. But different price points and quality levels. Some guy suggested $600 would be an appropriate price below? Yeah, sorry but that's delusional.

    I just wish it had a NO PICKGUARD option. So I have a question. Is the chamber in the back, or is the pickguard covering the chamber? Screws where the pickguard once was is much preferable than covering beautiful wood grain.
    I would also make it a string-thru, which is an easy enough modification to do.

    • @mikemorgan371
      @mikemorgan371 7 років тому

      Guitar Nerd the back of the guitar is solid with no cavity covers so I'm guessing you'd have to remove the pick guard to get to the guts

    • @ThatBaritoneGuitarGuy
      @ThatBaritoneGuitarGuy 7 років тому

      Mike Morgan: In that case, the pickguard covering the cavity definitely disqualifies it for me buying one. I never buy any guitar that has a pickguard that cannot be removed.
      One absolute requirement for me to buy a guitar is a natural finish, or a stain that emphasises the wood grain. I don't mind buying something with a pickguard if the guitar itself is back-routed. Even if I need to fill the screw holes, at least the beautiful wood grain is now clearly visible.
      That said, I could cut out the back of the cavity, sand town the top, and put on a proper figured top. Then, I would flip the circuit board, and attack it to the back of the top I just put on, using what was once the pickguard as the back plate cover. However, for that extensive amount of work, I might as well just buy something that is already back-routed to begin with.
      Thank you for the information.

    • @JRut99
      @JRut99 6 років тому

      You should contact Sacha himself, maybe he can make one without a pickguard? Think I saw a picture of a Dunable thunderclapper without one so it surely would be possible.

    This bridge looks great, but doesn't this type of construction lead to some extra noises being made while playing, especially in high gain situations (although I see that you put a jimmy clip there)? I mean, what is the point of making such kinds of bridges besides aesthetic value? I do enjoy all kinds of noises you can make with such a string length on my jazzmaster, but it also has a tremolo so it is a bit of a different story. I do not think that manufacturers are making this with the implication of doing behind-the-bridge bending like Kim from Soundgarden does on his Guild.

Apparently people think well made in the U.S. should b cheap because it's so easy to see that Sasha doesn't take his craft seriously especially considering all the great artists that endorse his product.
