- In this episode, we get started on the fabrication of new floorpans! I was able to get new outer rockers from Tabco, but I'll have to fabricate everything else from scratch.
Want some of the tools I used in this video?
Flange/Punch Tool: amzn.to/3fRNoYj
Dewalt 20V Grinder: amzn.to/33tseLg
Awesome yet inexpensive Dewalt 20V batteries: amzn.to/2J8QHi4
Sheet Metal shear: amzn.to/2Jb19pg - Авто та транспорт
Doesn't matter how many times I see someone use a stretcher or shrinker, what an amazing tool and skill to have.
IT'S BAAAAACCKKKK!!!!!
The stuff you do is amazing. If you lived nearby (Ut/Az) It'll be an honor to get some help on fabricating floor panels and such. Wherever you are located, I'd drive and drop my 620 over for some major body work.
I appreciate that a lot! New video with some major floorpan work is coming soon, so stay tuned. I've been looking at property in NV, and I can see myself living there some day.
@@tinygaragefab That's good news (NV move)...looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
Love Datsun Pickups. I had mine for 19 years before it was stolen. Great trucks.
That sucks! I had a motorcycle stolen (2008 CBR1000RR) and it was a gut-wrenching loss.
At 8:30 sweet hammer in the music. Excited to see more of this build.
Awesome job! Can't wait to see part 2!
It's about halfway filmed, so stay tuned...its going to be awesome.
Nice car
I'd love to see an update if you have done anything. I'm finally able to start working on my 620 and the body has a lot of bondo i need to take off and put actual metal on its place. Love the videos!
Good to know those Tabco rockers are quality, I need one for my 77" on the driver's side. Keep up the good work!
...I didn't think this one was boring, so the next ones should be great! :D
Thanks dude! Next one will be out way sooner than 4-5 months from now. Lol
That’s looking really good! A complicated patch, but you nailed it👍
Thanks, Tony! It should get easier from here, but that remains to be seen.
Looks great happy too see some one restoring a datsun 620 pickup thanks for the videos
Thanks for watching!
very nice work!!!!!! those are really tough pieces to make
Thanks! The lower corners were certainly a challenge, and there is a lot more to figure out before it's all done.
Hell yeah...I love this build
cool!!
damn. great work
Thanks man! I'll get the next video uploaded soon. If you thought this was wild, wait to see what I did with the rest of the floor!
Great job! Kinda make me glad my 73 is rust free... so cool that you can use simple common tools around the garage to make things work out. If you haven’t seen the channel Fitzee’s Fabrication check it out he makes panels and does things awesomely with not many tools also. He give great advice also. Really a great awesome resource.
Keep up the great work.
I've watched a ton of Fitzee's videos. Best single tip I learned was from his videos. The part where he lays patches on top then cuts the outline at an angle to narrow the gap between patches is gold-plated advice. I'll be doing a lot of that in the future.
Nice work.Gets me excited to build my 75 620.
Sweet! I'm ready to drive this, but I clearly have a long way to go. Stay tuned, because this is gonna get crazy soon.
Excellent job 🍻👍
I've watched every episode back to back I must know what happens, great job on the entire project. Just pick up a 74 datsun 620 that might need all that too.
I still have the truck, and I think I have enough footage for the next episode, but I'm not able to work on it right now. I do think about it all the time though. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to work on it this fall.
I'm really looking forward to the celica btw....
You and me both! Of all my projects, I can honestly say that I daydream about driving the Celica most.
@@tinygaragefab i plan on owning one... I'm looking at a '73 Venus st
Celica st*
i jusst got myself a 76 pickup but... its the automatic!!! one of its kind
That's awesome! Nothing wrong with having an auto. I'll be swapping my Hilux back to auto soon because of the simplicity of running an auto with the engine I chose to swap in. Sometimes it is better that way.
@@tinygaragefab i agree! as a 14 year old this car would be great as a first . thanks!
awesome work as usual. i relly like this project. the 620 will have a new and improved life ;-). is good to see you back on this project thumbs up all the way
It feels really good to get back to work on this one. It will have an amazing new life when I'm done here.
Need an update on the build 😭
I'm at about the same point in my 620 build, same rust areas. Have you looked at the bottom of the cowl where it meets the inside? I got rust-through there too.
Where is the next video? wanting to see the completion
I will get back to the Datsun soon, and I will do new videos every week or so until it is 100% DONE.
Hi there . any update on the truck ? it's been a while you did some really good progress ... was wondering how far you gotten.
I have made some progress, but not enough for a whole video. The Datsun will be the next videos I do, and will work on it to full completion. It's gonna be fun.
just binge watched all 9 episodes, now im fiending for episode 10 :) whats been happening with this resto lately ?
It got put on hold due to this and that. I will begin again soon and will spit out videos weekly until it is done.
@@tinygaragefab great to hear man ;) i know im not the only one who will be looking forward to seeing it. hope everything else is going as well as can be yeah.
I have datsun 620 1975 Complete calf seem rust free something to do iam retire
Check out a channel called Fitzee's Fabrication...he is working on a Datsun 720 I believe and makes the same body mounts you need to make...straight and to the point. Excellent work..went thru the same on my '80 Toyota 4WD pickup...I feel your pain!! You got a new subscription from me! Great attention to detail!!

I've been following Fitzee for quite a while. I actually have cab mounts already cut out that I did on my plasma table. I'm getting ready to finish the floors and try the mounts this week, so I'll have new videos coming soon!
ive just been binge watching his crusty roller rebuild which is excellent, i wasnt even aware that he also worked on a 720 so thanks for the heads up man ;)
Wonder what the status of this project is. Taking a break or abandoned?
It's still in the garage. I have the floors made, but have honestly lost a lot of interest in it for now. I will have some new content coming soon (not 620...but really cool stuff nonetheless)
Are we going to get more Datsun parts?
Yes, there will be more and it will start where this left off. I'm currently backed up trying to get my daily drivers sorted out. Lol
@@tinygaragefab fair enough lol
