Just got mine today and was really impressed by the breaking system. Thanks for your review about the spool and the breaks. I would have messed it up if not for your advice and knowledge of the breaks. Got mine paired with a 7 4 heavy fast action with 50 pound braid. I wanted to get a big frog 🐸 rod and I am so tickled about this one as it is my first Diawa.
Daiwa braking is amazing! And with the zero tension adjustor, it takes the hassle out of tuning reels like a centrifugal style braking. Glad you are enjoying the reel! Frog on!
The Tatula Elite was designed for long casting I have three of them. I also have the pitching flip version which has a different spool. They are awesome reels I also have the new Zillion you need to get you one!🤯
I lost it last spring. But this was one of my fav reels. Used it mainly for frogging and Jig and pig. Casting on Daiwa reels are amazing! Most of my reels are Daiwa
The knot i used here was just a bimini twist. It's essentially a loop knot. I didn't tie these frogs on. i just looped it through the eyes for cast testing as I didn't want to cut line. Gotta enforce some controls on scientific tests ;) but I normally do a bimini twist to double up my line, then tie a uni knot. If you are into snakehead fishing and want to know the knots i use, I can share with you this video here: ua-cam.com/video/eISgci4R57E/v-deo.html
I've never cast this reel but I did cast the Tatula 100. And I cast it 187 ft, and it's not even a long casting reel. I don't have one of those gizmos to measure the line, but I counted the amount of turns of the handle when I reeled it back in and it was 75 turns at 30 inch per turn of the handle, which equals 187 ft or 62 yds. There was a slight breeze in my direction though. 😊
Is Tatula elite designed for snakehead specially , if so, I am afraid It's only for snakehead in clear water. 11 pounds drag is not enough for heavy grass snakehead. fishing.
Hi love youre videos carst testing. And fishing. Can you do a carst testing on tatula tw 100 h 2023 model magforce z.pleasse.would love to see the limits on it .
Thanks. This is my older one... My new style video on exploring a magnetic braking reel evolved to something much better! Here is the video for the new Tatula 100 ua-cam.com/video/iz2AouVfHVw/v-deo.html
I'm running the Tat 200HSL as my main frog reel, but I'm really interested in the Tranx 150. I just hate putting all that green slime in a super nice reel 😂
I prefer smaller reels as I don't use as thick line, but if i do, i think a 150 would be pretty good. but yeah.. my reels are covered with gunk during the summer LOL. but my elite so far been treating me really well! i even skip soft plastics pretty good!
Hey Jimbo, I want to upgrade my elite with micro bearings. Could you tell me whether the bearing size is the same like tatula 100: 3 10 4 and 3 8 4? Best regards
I actually don't know the size of this reel. But not sure if micro bearings be good for this reel... unless you changed it to a bfs reel with a bfs spool lol
@@art.gz. damn! Which one? I can suggest you try spool hi speed bearing website to see if u can find the size. Then find a store that sells the micro version like BFE. That's what I do usually lol. Utilize bearing stores for sizes ;) another is hedgehog studio website!
@@rawrfishing I have the same 6 gr spool from AliExpress which you have in your tatula. Maybe you can make a video with this spool in elite 😊 Okay thank you, I will try it out.
I'm looking for an open water frog rod. I have a 7'4" Daiwa Tatula frog rod, but man does it have a stiff tip! I have 4 Dobyns Sierra's and I love them. Do you think that the 735c can do more than just frogging? I've heard the Champion 735c is a pretty versatile rod. Do you feel that way about the Sierra?
The Sierra isn't stiff as some of my other frog rods. But it still have a strong backbone. I woulr certainly use my frog rod for other things like buzzbait, spinnerbait and jigs.
I have a few tatulas. It came how it was supposed to on the knob. You weren’t supposed to adjust it at all. Why it’s called zero adjust. lol and just about every brand new reel I ever bought the drag was all the way off. Hopefully you’ll join and stay in the dark side here with Diawa. lol
@@rawrfishing they got the 6.1 gear box on Amazon for 169 ? Should I snag that ? I have a piscifun fun aluminum now that’s 11.1 gear so I don’t know might be nice having both ?
Two different reels for two different things. Can't say one is better or the other due to that. It really depends what u doing. But sv will throw lighter lures and further and have a better braking than elite.
@@rawrfishing Thank you for that Im pretty new to bait casting so your suggesting to get the sv? Wanted an all rounder bait caster. By the way I sub and bell buttoned cheers
@@raj1634 sorry missed this comment. but the SV reels would be great all rounders. their braking is better too! for a beginner reel, its important to have a reel that you can fiddle with and find out what sort of fishing you want to do!
Daiwa is always the answer.
Not gonna lie. They are amazing and pretty much number 1 in my books for magnetic braking reels
@ I agree! So good that I don’t even feel like I need DC in my life. Reliable and refined. What more could we ask for?!
More Daiwa reels in US! They got so many in Japan!

What are your thoughts on this 2 years later? How would it handle clunky non aerodynamic lures like buzzbaits and spinnerbaits?

That IPT is only for first few cranks when the spool is maxed. Not accurate to use as a measuring of distance. But I love my Tatula 100
You're in good hands bro
Oh yeah man. But I could be better with that new zillion sv tw g 🤣.... already thinking about the high end reels.... I am poisoned by tackle
Looks like a nice reel!
Gonna snake good with that!

I think it will be fine. The combination of thick strong line plus a long and mag heavy rod will compensate!
But as a tackle junkie... I will test and let yall know. If it fails.. that just mean I get to buy another setup ya? Lol 😆
can the elite be used for saltwater fishing?
Not sure, I don't really do saltwater fishing. But they do have salt water reels! And it's blue :o
Casting have issues vs spinning reel? Explain please.
Sorry this is an old video.. Plz share the Time stamp of the section of video you are questioning and I will get back to u

I don't know, but if you check the specs at their website, you can get an idea based on the line capacity details they provide
looks fire
