Loved hearing the stories between Robert Patrick and John Cena and how the chemistry you see on screen during Peacemaker has been built over years.

Robert Patrick (Peacemaker, Terminator 2) joins us this week and shares his unique perspective in this industry with a forty year tenure, no practical training, and missed opportunities before he found sobriety. Robert opens up on how despite how iconic his character as T-1000 was in Terminator, and how he owes his career to James Cameron, he had to change his appearance to distance himself from the character. We also talk about his chemistry and bond with John Cena, how Demi Moore’s psychic helped save his life, and how Robert got Clint Eastwood to break on set uncontrollably.

Robert Patrick shares opinion of working with John Cena on Peacemaker #insideofyou #robertpatrick #johncena - Розваги
Robert Patrick is so good at playing villains that it is hard to think of him as an ordinary guy -- with kids. He is a great choice for an interview.
ikr. I was listening to him speaking and felt kind of suspicious
He played as a good guy in Scorpion
He was a normal guy in bridge to teribithia
@@patrickbateman7369 Guess you didn't comprehend what I wrote.
I did not say he never played good guys. I said he was so good at villains.
He just seems like a *SWEET GUY* , doesn't he?
He and John Cena had incredible chemistry on peacemaker. He was perfectly cast as peacemakers dad. They were so good together. Just brilliant casting and performances.
I literally can't imagine a better fit to play his villainous father
We get more of it next season as well because his dad's going to follow him as a ghost
@@ChrisMorganComedy - I hope he's a real ghost and not just a delusion.
to look like CENA you have to use alot of illegal drugs and work out alot also right genetics help alot!
They worked together on the Marine
Robert Patrick is a class act. I’ve heard he’s a very kind guy
Yeah its usually the guys who are legendary for playing bad guys who are the nicest people on the planet
Yet he can be very intimidating
@@mattrice3993 except maybe kevin spacey lmao..a great villian and an equally shitty irl human.
@@Shad0wmoses that one hurt the most, honestly. If you had asked me the day before all that came out, he easily would have been one of (if not my favorite) actor.
@@Shad0wmoses i said usually I didn't say all the time
Robert Patrick and John Cena nailed it on Peacemaker. The stories of Cena and Gunn not allowing anyone who would create friction on set really shows in the chemistry between everyone.
Guess this explains why they shot Ezra Millers scene separately... Ba Dum Tss!
Gunn and Patrick must really love Chinese food.
@@jn4126 damn 😂
I loved the part in "The Marine" where John Cena is chasing Robert Patrick and his henchmen, and one of the henchmen says something like, "Jesus, this guy is like the Terminator!". The camera cuts to Robert Patrick looking at him in the rearview mirror like, "You're seriously saying that right now?"
LOL
Oh yeah, that was right before John Cena said "It's Marine-in time!"
@@nickkoabel 🤣 man shut tha Morb up!
The Marine is such an underrated popcorn action flick.
I was thinking of that scene too!
@@nickkoabel Oh sweet, you morb too, brah ?
Robert seems like a cool, down to earth guy. No surprise then that he’s never stopped working. Solid, gets along with people, loves the work.. that’s the kinda guy you want on set.
Literally........and this goes for everything. Don't treat your co-workers like dirt. When I say co-workers I mean from the lowest position. The people lower on the imaginary scale of a job can absolutely make you and but they can also absolutely break you. (they just usually don't)
Yeah, he’s supposed to be a fun, normal guy.
From what I’ve heard, Robert Patrick is one of the most well-respected actors in the field because of his work ethic.
Don't let the t1000 fool y'all
@@EUCLlD ay he did it so well shows how good he is
It’s a testament to how great Robert Patrick is that his portrayal of the T2 overshadowed the original iteration of the terminator. Arnold in that first one is iconic, but the T1000 is legendary.
Can you imagine being told you have to be threatening towards Arnold Schwarzenegger? Then can you imagine being told by everyone that you pulled it off? I'd be bragging every chance I got, yet he doesn't. Dude is super humble.
He was the perfect bad guy for Arnold’s ridged T800. Fast, shapeshifting and cold AF
Love Robert and the T1000, but not even close. Arnold in T1 is far scarier, creepier and just a nightmare.
@@fistoftulkas7335booooo. 😮💨
@@fistoftulkas7335No Robert is better.
The fact he tells stories of multiple people and ends them both with "we have great chemistry and I hope they'd say the same" shows the type of man he is. He appreciates his relationships and probably goes out of his way to make others comfortable. Seems humble, very humble.
I've heard he's incredibly nice in person
I’m so happy to finally see this acknowledged. Robert Patrick was excellent in the marine.
Oh that's right they were together in the movie The Marine good shit
and when robert patrick was getting chased by john cena they said "geez this guys like the terminator" and robert patrick looks in the mirror and raises his eyebrow
@@dangerdavefreestyle That scene is legendary. 👍👍
@@dangerdavefreestyle I laughed my.ass off at that scene. 🤣
@@paulcarpenter7844 yeah i though john was paying it forward and refer him to be casted in peacemaker.
Robert truly proved his capabilities as an actor when portraying the contrasting characters of the T-1000 in Terminator 2, and Davey Scatino from The Sopranos. Robert is seriously so TALENTED, and he's just so well spoken & likeable. This is awesome.
No way he was the t-1000 that’s crazy
@@miguelmaldonado3837 lol
Davey was him? Holy crap I didn't even realize that and I've probably watched the entire series four times at this point.
@@miguelmaldonado3837 children these days
I loved this guy in everything he did, always felt familiar... Now I've made the connection he was in terminator and it all makes sense 🤣🤣
Robert Patrick played one of the best movie antagonists in movie history
I'm still intimidated by him.
I hope your referring to the T1000
Made me shit my pants as a child, made me believe this terminator is actually real.
If I was an actor. Just based off the vibe he gives off and the great stories. I’d want to work with Robert Patrick all day.
My dad was an electrician and worked on Terminator 2. He said Robert Patrick was one of the nicest actors he ever met.
Robert Patrick brings another level to every character he plays. I've never been disappointed by him in a role. Fantastic actor.
I first saw him in The Marine
Never saw him again till Peacemaker and recognized him instantly
Is he asain?
Well there was agent Doggett...
It's cool as hell to see how much Robert Patrick admires John Cena and how awesome of John Cena to do whatever it takes to make a child feel on top of the world. Awesomeness!!
I met Robert Patrick in LA 25 years ago when I was a part-time employee at Banana Republic. He was hands down the nicest celebrity I’ve ever met. Kind, cool and down to earth.
Robert Patrick is a class act and a great actor
This man is another prime example of Timeless Act. He's so chill and likeable how can you not love Robert
Well for starters he picked a fight with my man Mr. T-800 Model 101.
Man One of the coolest things watching Peacemaker is thinking back to Cena’s earlier films and just seeing his acting skills grow exponentially with each film.
Man, he plays an awesome bad guy. Terminator 2 was awesome because of him.
RP as T-1000 in T2 is one of the best villains of all time.
To be honest, T2 is awesome because of EVERYTHING. Not only Robert Patrick. As cool as he is...
@@sideskroll Agreed. One of my favorite films. Everything about it is spot on.
I *still* love Robert Patrick's voice-over work in "The Dig". It's one of my most favorite games of all-time, and everyone involved really outdid themselves.
The Dig was AWESOME, and Patrick's voice over was fantastic!
I finally realized that Cena is a serious actor when I saw him opposite Patrick's talent in Peacemaker. What a duo.
Awesome to see them together again from marine to peacemaker all these yrs later 👏 damn time Flys
Crazy to say Cena killed him twice on screen
It’s funny the language he repeatedly uses to say he hopes others feel the same. What a humble guy. I’m glad he’s been so successful. I loved him in The Unit, and his movies and everything.
Robert Patrick seems like a legit cool dude
Robert Patrick was absolutely phenomenal in his role on The Walking Dead. I wish he became a leading character.
? witch season
@@mikea2410 i think he was in season 10 episode 18 or 19
Not many actors have that intensity that Patrick has and he can do all genres so Damn well . Everytime i see a film and he has a part its always a jewel
Robert Patrick has been good in everything he’s been in. It’s no wonder that he always comes off as a super likable guy that clearly loves what he does.
Robert seems like such a nice guy. You can tell he's proud and passionate of his work.
Robert Patrick is a gem of an actor. I’m so glad he continues to get acting roles. His casting in Peacemaker was perfect.
One of the great unsung actors of this age. Doesn't get nearly the accolades he deserves. A Lifetime Achievement award winner.
The energy and passion he told the story with was Great
Robert Patrick is good in all of his roles. Reliable character actor.
I love that he remembers his Psych episode. One of the best in the show, and he was a perfect fit in it.
Robert Patrick is a wonderful and generous man. We've met several times socially, but I would love to work with him one day... What a great guy.
Psych was so good, the episode John and Robert were in was awesome
I loved Robert from age 9 when I saw T2. So great to find out how awesome of a dude he really is.
Same, watched T2 when i was 5, and and he impressed me as a kid.
Who knows Robert Patrick as Col Tom Ryan from The Unit? Show is over 10 years old now, but I automatically think of that character every time I see him. One of the greats.

I met Robert Patrick a couple years ago at Dallas Fan Expo. One of the nicest, & AWESOMEST GUYS you’ll ever meet!
Robert Patrick, man I feel like I am getting old. He had such a baby face when he played in T2.
I forgot Robert Patrick was in the first Marine movie. Always loved the guy, he'll always be the T-1000 to me.

Robert Patrick is such a cool guy. Amazing actor. Everytime he pops up in anything, my full attention is aimed right at the screen.
I've never personally met him, but a friend of mine has and said he was the nicest guy. He got him to say "Have you seen this boy?" from his little cameo in Wayne's World 2, and said the guy went from super nice to super scary right there. Said he saw T-1000 looking back at him and it gave him goosebumps.
Robert Patrick is one of the greats.
Remember him in The Faculty too. He's fantastic to watch
Robert Patrick is Gold!
He was also super excited and cooperative when helping with the T2 arcade game
Robert Patrick is so awesome.
It's so good to see people like Robert Patrick and John Cena make it. It makes me feel good. :)
Robert Patrick is a class act! Love all his work. What a great interview with Michael.
Luke Perry's kid, casually mentioning Jungle Boy. Love it!
Man who remembers Robert Patrick as T-1000 in Terminator: Judgement Day? He was so phenomenal in that movie!!!
He’ll always be T-1000 to me. That movie is iconic
*Robert Patrick will always be my favorite from The Unit*
So cool to hear from Robert Patrick more. This man has been one of the most iconic and memorable actors I’ve ever seen. What he has done and accomplished with the amount of screen time he has had compared to other celebrities with way more is amazing. He goes for quality not quantity.
I got to meet Robert once, he was a real nice guy.
He was such a killer in T2 and he also did an incredible job in the show called the unit.
He slowly built my memory up with that conversation he had with James Gunn 😂 Screw what they say about The Marines I enjoyed it.
Love him in peacemaker can’t wait for the second season if they continue to make them knowing how DC changes their heads of the studio every year!
Robert is such a gentleman and a cool dude.
I have to admit, I completely forgot about The Marine when he mentioned that him and John worked together on that movie.
John Cena sounds like genuinely great person. Salute to the good people.
Robert Patrick has always been a favourite of mine, and I thought it was so cool when I heard he would play Peacemakers father in the show.
1:47 For those that don’t know, Luke Perry’s son Jack is now a professional wrestler in All Elite Wrestling on TBS/TNT; his ring name/gimmick is Jungle Boy.
I forgot he was the villain in the movie The Marines that’s crazy 14 years later they worked together again it’s like a father & son duo igniting a flame again
Robert Patrick came to Puerto Rico a few years back to film "The men who stare at goats" and he was so nice to everybody. I was an extra in one of his scenes and he came by between breaks to talk to us. He shook my hand and asked my name. When I told him it was Pablo, he quickly replied "PAUL!!!" 😅😅 Kinda took me by surprise.
I'm surprised he even saw John.
He did very good in the Unit. He is a great actor.
This guy played his role well. I actually believed that if I saw him on the street he would beat the crap out of me. Great casting, great actor .😊
For someone to be able to play such menacing characters but still be such a good guy is amazing. True talent
That's awesome they weren't cast like this because of previous experience together. It all just worked out like magic.
The fact he was a terminator and the lead singe of filter brother and the coach from the faculty. He is super underrated
I really liked him in The Unit. He is a great actor.
One of my favourite actors of all time.
Robert is awesome and him and Cena really do have awesome chemistry.
Robert Patrick is so amazing as both an actor and human being.
I love this guy, at first I saw him in the Unit and since then I'm looking up movies he is in. Awesome guy, even better actor!
This man needs his flowers. I've never been disappointed to seem him on screen, ever.
0:55: OH SH*T! How’d I forget Robert Patrick is the villain in The Marine. That’s one of my favorite “so bad it’s good” movies.
Growing up I loved The Marine. Robert Patrick did a great job I thought he was badass. And also his role in Bridge to Terabithia fit perfectly!
Robert Patrick just seems like the most wholesome dude on the planet. I don't think I've ever heard him speak badly of any filming experience or co-worker, ever. I've heard him admit to some shoots being hard but never that he didn't enjoy it. I yearn for that kind of ability to embrace life.
This man is an absolute legend. I still remember having nightmares of him Chasing me non stop after I watched terminator 2. Such an awesome actor.
The Peacemaker outtakes with Cena and Patrick and the different helmets are pure gold!
Robert Patrick is a movie legend👍
Robert Patrick has been really overlooked! I don't think he's had enough parts over the years. There's so many roles he'd have been perfect for
Robert is one of the greats.... one of the most underrated actors in hollywood
Always enjoyed this man's work 👍🏽
This is an amazing 3 min so much to unpack!!
I love Psych! That’s so dope. Hearing Robert say “John” and not hearing it followed up with “Connor” was a trip.
“My dad isn’t a racist me and my dad both hate crime.” I died laughing at this line.
My dad was Special Forces and raised me as a soldier. He lived in a cabin in the woods and trained me in frankly kinda messed up ways. I knew things like land navigation at 12yo he trained be in hand to hand how to disarm someone with a knife the training on that one was...I should probably goto therapy but ehhh wutever. Loved this clip though.
PS loved you in Urban Legends man!
Love this guy. Very grounded and is very underrated. Solid actor.
This guy played opposite the biggest star in the world and held his own. Not easy but he gave a terrifying understated performance with minimal dialogue that stands the rest of time.
Robert Patrick really surprised me, I haven't seen him since T2 but man that guy had a presence and I was sad to see him go this season.
Yeah I’m hoping that he is back in Season 2 haunting Peacemaker
@@keith6847 Yea, because if he is going to get new equipment and learn the secrets of how to make those helmets, a Ghost dad or a microchip in his brain might be a good excuse to bring him back.
Met him last year at the Harley- Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. Really nice guy. Regular dude.
I remember Cena and Patrick in Psych, one of my favorite shows when I was a kid (still holds up too).
Totally forgot they were in that together until I saw them on screen in Peacemaker. Loved it 🔥.
I always love Roberts Small role in Burn Notice
Cena and Patrick were AMAZING in the marine!
The world can use more successful people who take the time to think about the little guy and how one moment can make such a huge impact on them. Without the fans there's no celebrities and the good ones appreciate that.
Love these interviews. So sorry I missed you at Telford.😢

Always good to see Robert Patrick on screen
What a legend.
Dude I love this man scorpion and I love him even more on this show.
