    I reviewed the Olight Ostation X. It's a new 32X AA battery charger by Olight with some very unique functions!
    Olight provided a sample of the Ostation X for this review. I was not paid to make this video, nor have I held back on any negative opinions.

    That looks perfect for situations where organisations chew through rechargeable batteries! 8 and 16 bay chargers are cool but it’s difficult to train a dozen people to use chargers correctly. The Ostation X seems to simplify the process and reduce the possibility of making mistakes like putting a battery in backwards.

      Yeah, especially those AAA cells you mentioned before - I have a pack of 8 eneloop ones and they are sweet. Alkaline ones just leak in all my devices.

      @@DarrenYeoYT I'll never use leaky alkalines in my lights again , maybe an inexpensive keychain light perhaps..but nothing of a higher value. I have ruined way too many Maglights in my days!. 😂

      @@SoundStream101 I've messed up tons of electronics that way too. Alkaline cells are a pain in the ***

      @@DarrenYeoYT Don't mention alkalines again to me, mate. I have never forgiven myself for not knowing that alkaline cells also leak despite the manufacturer's claims that they don't. A quartet of Duracell AAs had destroyed my old Sony ICF-SW7600G world band radio more than a decade ago because I had forgotten to remove them from the battery compartment. 😢

    5:15 thank you! None of the other reviewers bothered addressing what the second port was for. Turns out it’s use is much cooler than expected.

      Yeah, it wasn't mentioned in the manual so I asked them!

    I use a Miboxer C8 to charge my Eneloop AA and AAA NiMH batteries, as well as various 18650 and 14500 Li-Ion cells. It does everything I need.

      Nice, looks similar to my Xtar vc8s - great all rounder.

      @@DarrenYeoYT Yes, the Xtar is another one I considered before buying the Miboxer.

    I have to admit that from the video thumbnail, this Olight thingy did look like some PC tower casing. Never seen anything like this before. I'm sure this industrial AA charger will benefit someone else, but I prefer to manage my own NiMH cells, thank you. 🔋☺

      Yeah it's probably an ease of use thing for people who need to charge tons of cells at once!

      Let's see what they come up with in the final release

    Only AA….This has definitely a niche market. I don’t think it will last long before they discontinue it from lack of sales. They already have stopped making their charge dock and I think it was a good product.

    • @DarrenYeoYT

      I think they've generated nearly 1 mil in funding already. Bit of an niche product I guess, people with lots of remote controlled cars, kids haha.

    Incorrect. It said it charges other types of batteries on the box, not just Ni-MH. Unless you found out something else.

      Final release version only charges NiMH

      Neither do I lol. I think it'd be good for businesses that use tons of these batteries in their operations, maybe people with kids!

    If you get the pre-sale it's $99 and if you don't then it's like $150?!.. Yeah too much money for basically a 4-bay charger for AA batteries. Now if they made one that charged 18650's that be pretty dope. Their not dumb tho they know they have some gullible Fanboys that would buy bottled farts if it had an Olight label. 😂😂 they should just stick to making flashlights cuz that's what they specialize in.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  11 днів тому +2

      Bottled farts 😂 They have an AAA version of this too. It'd be a sweet to have a version that charges all kinds of cells - but they would need a way to measure the cell dimensions and adjust charging prongs inside.

    Another poor video. The only new thing learned was that you can daisy chain Ostations. Did you actually charge any batteries? What were the results? Did it sort out bad batteries? Any difference in charging time when daisy chained? More instruction manual overview that a real review. You can do better than that!!

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  8 днів тому

      I only tested a sample of the stock olight NiMH cells that came out the other side and they were fully charged. Not sure about charging time differences when linking two together. they're still optimising the final model so hopefully I can do a proper review later, this was just a short one I pulled together.
