I'm cool with the CR123 and watch batteries and what-not, but I always try to make sure that my gear runs AAA or AA, simply because of how common and easy to find they are AND the potential for recharging.
You can also get adapters to allow you to use a AA in a C or D type battery need.
Wut, you've got yours already????
Ah a prototype.
Can't wait for their kickstarter programme to get producing and shipping.
This is absolutely genius.
Ordered both. Great review. 😊
I know each of these suggestions would increase the unit price, but you could release a "pro" version that includes them at a higher price point for those interested.
Having two USB ports than can charge in parallel would probably be better than doing a daisy-chain. I'm guessing the daisy-chain to a secondary device increases the charge time for both?
Rather than charging 4 batteries at a time and the rest is storage, have it actively charge 4 and those that are charged kick to into trickle charge compartment keeping them topped up until needed
Have a USB port connected to the trickle charge compartment so you can use a cluster of batteries to charge your phone/camera/etc like a mini USB power bank fed by AA batteries, useful in a power outage.
They are really thinking outside the box with this. I totally get it! Excellent product. We should all be using rechargeables
Rechargeables are great for many applications but not all.
I'm interested. Honestly I know I use more Triple A than doubles. I'd be interested in it for sure
The problem with NiMH AAA is that the voltage is nominally lower at 1.2v -1.3v vs. alkaline at 1.5v. Every battery will experience voltage drop when in use, the difference is that NiMH have less headroom for that drop in voltage and if you are using multiple cells this effect is amplified. 3 cells and your 4.5volts that are needed is only 3.6v-3.9v. when supplied by NiMH. If you are going to invest in rechargeable batteries, Lithium ion are the way to go as they match alkaline batteries at 1.5v. Consider XTAR AAA Lithium 1620mWh Batteries instead.
@@3vil3lvis thank you 🙂
That charger came too late for the AA nicd, nimh batteries. I hope they do 18650 and others.
Ingenious!
This is a hard NO, because it is designed for NiMH and not lithium rechargables. It is doubtful that a software update will change that. Promises of future upgrades are Vaporware that most often never comes to fruition. Add to that its expensive for a charger that only charges outdated batteries.
Lithiums suk, that's why.
The PX in Iraq only sold lithium everything - BUT - did not sell batteries "cuz they blow up in the plane." So ... no rifle lights
NICE
I think its pretty cool. Never seen this thing before
Always informative. Ententertaining...💪😎👍💜🙏
Have had bad olights that will not replace in first few weeks.
that is supee cool
That's awesome! I have a lot of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries. I've got two chargers for each that charge 4 at a time. I also have 20 rechargeable CR123 batteries and a charger for them.
It only charges NIMH, not lithium so be aware.
Just pledged to get the AA and AAA both.... literally like the old song by The Cars, "just what I needed"
Tremendous ! 👍👍🇺🇸🌴😎🌴
What I like about this is that it is compatible with the usb ecosystem.
Rechargeable AA/AAA are really expensive. I have no reason to have this many batteries on hand. I instead when with a battery holder, to keep the batteries sorted, and just use my 18650 charger since it checks the state my NiMH while charging.
I have several sizes and there only good if there used daily, just my opinion. The heavy duty ones are a little better but new one are best for me.
Recharge and then put in a tray in the fridge or freezer so the self discharge slows down. I've done this for years and they hold a charge way longer than if you charge and leave out in room temperature.
@@perpetualplacidpoet thanks for the tip
Do u have a video on solar power stations for the home? Ur so awesome and I appreciate uuuu
Sounds good, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Kickstarter? But Olight is an established company. Makes me wonder if internally they had no faith they would get their money back so they pushed the cost onto consumers.
The prepper QVC channel…
What do You think about batteries with USB c?
You who work with O'light, you can tell them than they can change they idea to do NOT sell it in Europe.
What happened to the silver cloth filter? Where did all the silver go?
The patient has expired on the nickel metal hydroxide technology. . . Correct me if I am wrong. . . Is there a limit to how many batteries we are allowed to own? If all you need is one at a time it is perfect. Until it is outlawed.
I've tossed more batteries due to leaking than I have ever used
PS4 or 5 doesn’t use AA batteries
Hi there! I really love your content and would like to invite you to check out some of Sofirn's flashlights. Would you be interested?💗
This is just begging for a solar panel , 12v @ 1.5 amps would be easy.
I see horrible!!!
