After struggling with depression and anxiety for years, I found solace in caring for my aquarium and the fish within it. Through the routine of feeding, cleaning, and observing my fish, I found a sense of purpose and joy that had been missing from my life. In this video, I share my journey and how fish keeping helped me to overcome my struggles and find hope for the future.

I know how it feels when it seems that being loved by you is a death sentence. You put up a wall and don't let anyone in. I am very glad you have let us in your wall. I lurk in a lot of streams and I see the joy you bring to a lot of people. I am glad you chose to share your sunshine with us.

Last year when we sat together during Johns talk at Aquashella, I remember how choked up you got. Your tears were truly genuine and I could tell his talk hit home. You've shared these sad times with me but now the time line makes sense. Thank you for being strong and not giving up. Hey Lefty, I just want to say that things happen for reason we don’t and may never understand but rest assure that you are loved. We all care and love you so much that we would not know what to do without you. It takes a lot of courage to share you story and even more courage to help others. You may or may not know this but you also helped me when I was going thru some tough times. It was hard for me to get through the video but I’m glad that I did because your video has helped me and meeting all of you guys just recently helped me so much. If you ever find yourself down that dark road please remember that you are not alone and you can count on me, and others, to help you navigate thru the tough times. Was super awesome to meet you last month too! Was looking forward to it especially after the hiccup with Dallas. I know I am not alone now thanks to this wonderful community of fish keepers I found online and amazing people like yourself. I am glad to know that I have helped you and I am also always here for you too if you need a shoulder.
This was tough to get through, emotionally, but I know it had to have been tougher for you to talk about it. While I can't relate as much to the pain of losing so many people, I do understand the pain that drives someone to want to take their own life. I've been there, and it was fate that prevented it from being successful. We are all glad you're still with us. FishFam wouldn't be the same without you.

I have bipolar type 2. Basically im very depressed with short periods of being a little too happy to the point of mildly self-destructive behavior. Keeping aquariums is the best form of therapy for me. I manly keep nano fish and neocaridena shrimp in planted tanks. Its an escape from the bs. I may have gotten off to a rocky start with u lefty but know u have my respect and im looking forward to future videos
