I have 10 guppies and 6 mollies in my tank. When my guppy gave birth to 18 fry. Surprisingly none of the adult fishes touch the fries. They are growing with the adult fishes in the same tank
@@archdornan8349 you could also get a 3 gallon full set up at Amazon and put her in there when she starts to deliver and feed her before you go to bed and she should be okay. I only paid $32 for mine then the fry have a place to grow up for awhile
can I ask so when the female is ready to give birth you put her in a separate tank? I am worried incase when I am cleaning the tank that I may accidentally hoover some up I am new to all this Thankyou for any advice
@@gemmaambrose2954 keep tthe female in a separate tank,after the birth put the mother fish back to ur original tank,but some guppi mother's will eat their babies as soon as they are born,in that u can use a breeding cage

im the opposite :/ i have all females now and no males. i bought 2 males and 4 females and 1 of the females and both males died. i was given like 40 fry for free and the surviving fry i had 1 male and he lived long enough to have 2 of the females give me 7 fry so far lol. not having much luck but gonna get some males when i have the chance!
You would think you would add much more plants. The babies need a place to hide. Top and bottom. 5 to 6 times this amount of area to hide. But that is a phenomenal success percentage. I counted about 130ish.
The excitement of watching fry be born never gets old!

Mmy guppy just eats the babies one by one as soon as it comes out,and with so much aggression🙄

@@mathewh3766 I think it's because there are fish fry in there and they could get sucked up the filter or stressed from it being so strong.
@@theodddinosaur3365 the plant prob pulls create enough o2 but ud still be worried. Atleast a sponge filter should be dropped in.
