My and my wife have just taken up camping again. We camped when we both got married and enjoyed it but the fake materialistic life we all lead dragged us away from it. We’ve decided to ditch that lifestyle and return to the wild. Wow it makes you feel so alive. Your channel inspires us so much. Keep up the good work and thx for making the videos.
I've worked in environmental managment (I'm a biologist) and according to my geologists friends you are hiking a lot in post glaciar landscapes. Knowing that large parts of Northern Europe were under the Ice Sheet during the last Ice Age I'm really not surprised. Here in Portugal we also have glaciar valleys but only at high altitudes, as southern Europe was a refuge for animal and plant life. We have rural myths here describing the migration of animals to the North after the melting of the glaciers, which is supported by genetic evidence, as we have discovered in my field. Those bogs seem to be a result of the same event, and they look super dangerous. As a kid of the 90s myself I also remember those movies with the quicksand as well😂!

I have followed your journeys from the beginning and when you first embarked on your adventures, I was thinking "oh it's another instagram type girl" pretending to be a trekker / wild camper but you, you are absolutely the real deal with balls of steel. Tis Irish Bob saying hello Claire That was a very interesting wee bit of adventure Lass. The opening shot must have been pretty mild weather for this time of year. Very windy and boggy terrain. Were the boggs listed on the map? Sort of looked a wee bit like LOTR with Orcs running about. Loved the transitional shots from color to b/w. Very Wizard of Oz look. Glad you weren't hurt stepping into the boggy hole. They can be shockers for sure. Gear looks like it served well on yer excursion. Always delighted in listening to your summations and comments at the end of the trip. A favorite line from the 2000 film Gladiator " What we do in life. Echoes in eternity" Irish Bob loves your spirit and your respect for nature, and the outdoors.. Enjoy your weekend and of course a belated Happy International Women's Day ( March 08, 2023). imagine the work involved building those stone walls, OMG.. the effort our ancestors put forth so we may have a better quality of life is astonishing, we really should praise them so much more than we do, where are their monuments, books, gratitude? they did so much to get us all where we are today, even our grandparents had it pretty rough, droughts, great recessions, no AC, on and on.. imagine before internal and stam combustion, no trains, no cars, horse and buggy or by foot. believe it or not somany walked from new york to the west coast in the 1800's .. all that for opportunity, and the dangers and hazards, many didn't make it, built to give their children a better life, opportunity.. we really should thank them more.. a lot more
This is a very high quality channel, very entertaining. You are clearly very knowledgeable and skilled in outdoorsmanship, but also the footage you manage to capture is extremely beautiful, well captured and put together, great production quality, just a great channel across the board.
Hi, thank you so much for the lovely compliment 🤗 I don't consider myself overly knowledgeable or skilled with the outdoors.. always learning but I love it. I'm a photographer by trade so it is a joy for me to expand that to videography and bring 2 of my passions together to create something about what I love. I'm so glad you enjoy it :) have a great week! Claire
I despise bogs too. Growing up in Louisiana with a dad who loved hunting, I used to get taken out into the woods, fields, and swamps as a kid to spend a day trekking around in rough terrain that was sometimes dry, sometimes boggy. I can't remember how many times I fell into boggy bits and ended up being soaking wet and cold. After a while my dad finally realized that I wasn't going to be a hunter, and stopped taking me along. I do have a love for camping and canoeing though, but have never had the chance to do any hiking or wild camping. So I enjoy seeing people like you, who take it upon themselves to show the rest of us the adventures you have during your outings.
Such an amazing and inspirational channel Claire....you have such a bright outlook on life even when the going gets tough....really glad I found your channel....good luck with all of your adventures 💯💯💯👍👍👍👍

Don't change too much; you're such a happy, positive, person. Have you studied geology at all? The backgrounds of your trips show a great deal of what I believe to be a post-glacial landscape.

Heyy! Ahh how amazing! Thought I'd not seen you about for a while, what an incredible time you must have had, what an experience 😍 Welcome back to England :) ☕️
I had a bad last few days. But I decided that I would take a trip with you into the mountains. The reason for my bad time is I have been having leg cramps on top of arthritic knees, so standing up is interesting, walking a challenge. As the cramping is getting better, I just walked with you for 2 days. While you fell in a bog, I fell in the dining room, both of us survived. Your trip had everything, especially the happy ending
Such lovely scenery. I did the same as you about 8 years ago, there was deep mud on the track and it was covered in leaves, I walked straight into it, up to mid-thigh. I couldn't move, I took off my pack (18kgs) and threw it onto solid ground and then tried to get myself out. It took me some 10 minuets. It is a very scary feeling, you hard held tight, and it takes a lot of energy and time to remove yourself and overcome the fear of being trapped. The area that I was in, is less well travelled. I was at an altitude of about 1200m.It took me some time to get down to a river and just throw myself into it and get myself clean. What a relief !!! Enjoyed the video ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ 😀😀
I love all the stone walls and stone houses you come across! They tell a story of another time. Makes me wish I could meet the people that once lived there.
You'll get better at walking across bogs and spotting the parts that you'll sink into. I'm sure you've already improved massively. It's an acquired skill. Brilliant video as always.
Soooooo love it when you create a longer video of your adventures Claire. The shorter ones leave me feeling unsatifsfied and wishing for more. You do scare me sometimes though. Times when you fall into bogs or the fact you are alone. Glad you have a Garmin now. Also glad that you do not push past your comfort and safety zone too much. More power to you and love you and your love of all things small and crawly. ❤
Loved every second of that but yes, fully understood you fears falling in the bog, Garmin inreach or not! You did well to recover as you did A true inspiration for anyone

Such a wonderful and inspiring video. Thanks for taking us along!
I just discovered this channel…totally enjoying the vids…very calming and relaxing…I admire this lady for going on adventures and enjoying herself and NOT needing anybody else with her to enjoy herself
It's not about the distance it's the experience and the memory's you make which help through any of life's more difficult times
Such a beautiful and diverse adventure Claire! It's trips like these with their ups and downs that usually make the best memories, eh :) And that countryside was just absolutely gorgeous! Loved your message at the end as well... perfectly said 👌
I hope that you have an amazing week my friend :) Stay wild.... 🐻 -John
Great video yet again. Glad we didn't lose you in those bog. You can buy waterproof bamboo over socks for around £25 great for keeping your feet dry. I've had my for about 5 years now. Great investment. Xx
Your adventures are so welcoming, sincere and honest. I pray your fear of falling into a bog lessens, and that your courage gains all the perspective that your beautiful artistic mind can process into your next amazing adventure. ❤
Aw thank you so much, you are too kind, yep I do really hate those boggy things haha! Hope you have a lovely week 🤗
@@WildBeare thank you Claire.

Your videos just get better and better, they're like little movies. So much detail and work clearly goes into editing them and honestly, it makes such a huge difference and for very pleasurable viewing. Hats off to you Claire, great adventure, great video and great recovery from that bog. It's good you educate folks on those dangers and openly own up to your mistakes, honestly well done and keep doing what you're doing. Absolutely fantastic! The outtro was an awesome touch, so meaningful and inspiring.
Heyy, thank you so much :D yeh they do take a long time to create but I love the process. I'm so glad you enjoy them :) Hope you're having a lovely week 🌿🏕
Couldn't agree more!
Hi Claire, I'm currently recovering in hospital Learning to walk after neck down paralysis caused by GBS. Your videos are the extra inspiration that I need to help me get stronger and get back out onto the mountains. Thanks Claire see you on the trails next year. Fingers crossed.
I absolutely delight in your excitement in days being a ‘turtle’ (carrying your home on your back). My greatest wish in life is that you never loose your love for your immersion in wild places….
¡Viva las tortugas!🐢
Inspirational Lady, constantly facing fears and still finding the beauty of nature. Well done Claire on another great vid.
Thank you :) love it up there 💚🌿
Recently stumbled across this channel. What beautiful and well narrated videos. Well done WildBeare! And not just good looks apparently... Good for you! 👍
Fantastic adventure Claire, sometimes we need a reality check that we don't take things for granted. The UK has some wonderful places to visit and thank you for taking us with you on your adventures take care 😊.
I had quit thru hiking and camp hiking...you've inspired me to resume. We're headed out April 27th on our first camp hike in three years. 🙂
Hi Claire. I am new to your channel so playing "catch up" on your videos. You came up in conversation while my hiking buddies and I were sat around a campfire 🔥. They all love you and everything about you (and me now😊). They said to check you out and I am glad that I did. Your mindset, personality, and love for the outdoors is truly magical and inspiring. Keep going and God speed. ❤❤
I hope there is someone with you in case of an accident working with all those sharp tools, heavy rocks, lumber, etc. you are a genius with your building skills. I so enjoy watching these videos.
Awwww!! I just wanted to give you a hug!!!! I could tell how emotional you were after the bog incident but as always you made the best of it and had an amazing adventure! That area looks absolutely incredible, breathtakingly brutal! Thank you so much for sharing it with us all! Much love xxx
Hey Friend! Yeh I love it up there, fast becoming one of my favourite areas, despite the fact that it keeps kicking my ass haha! Thank you for watching, hope you're having a lovely week 🤗Xx
All the beautiful natural wonders you share with us would certainly be missing something if you were not there as well. It takes a beautiful soul to add life to a landscape. Thanks, we all love you. John
Best channel by far, such a gentle soul exploring a brutally beautifully landscape. Quality content Claire!
Thank you so much Angie 🌿💚 Hope you're having a nice week
Tis Irish Bob saying hello Claire
That was a very interesting wee bit of adventure Lass.
Echoes in eternity"
Irish Bob loves your spirit and your respect for nature, and the outdoors..
Enjoy your weekend and of course a belated Happy International Women's Day ( March 08, 2023). And this sentiment us also for the gals that view yer channel.
😇🤗😎🍀☘️🇮🇪🇨🇵🦾🩺🥂
Your videos are absolutely mint. Your comments at the end of this one made me so emotional. You are an amazing person. Thank you for making these fantastic videos and sharing your epic adventures with us.
What an absolutely amazing journey you took us on. Girl, you are LEGITIMATE! Incredible video skills.
Claire this was such a wonderful video. Such stunning views and country you take us to. Made me a little nervous watching you climbing down the rocks and the wild wind made your hoodie look like a wing suit ☺️. Glad you weren't hurt stepping in the bog, I would have been shook up also. Take care of yourself and stay warm and safe. Don't ever let anyone tell you, you can't do it. So impressed with you and all you do.
Hi Terry! Aw thank you, I loved this one, it had a bit of everything and I enjoyed the wind blown michelin man look too 😄 Thank you for watching my lil vid, hope you have a lovely week :) Claire
Amazed how you stay cheerful! There’d be a lot more expletives if it were me!
Thanks for taking us along with you on this Adventure, the Scenery is just spectacular, great photography ❤
Thank you, thanks for coming along with me :D
Nothing BOG standard about this lil Lady ..nice adventure claire keep em coming :)
I admire your confidence while solo hiking 😊 I do a fair amount of solo hiking too but in areas I know there will be hikers
It's not about the miles,it's about the experience and memories.
Wow Clair whenever I watch your videos I’m in awe of your tenacity and adventurism! You are right getting out into nature and doing your own thing does make you a different person and particularly on your own relying on your own skills learnt and gaining new experiences! Fantastic and thank you for taking us along! ⛺️👣🤞🙏🦉👍😎
imagine the work involved building those stone walls, OMG.. the effort our ancestors put forth so we may have a better quality of life is astonishing, we really should praise them so much more than we do, where are their monuments, books, gratitude? they did so much to get us all where we are today, even our grandparents had it pretty rough, droughts, great recessions, no AC, on and on.. imagine before internal and stam combustion, no trains, no cars, horse and buggy or by foot. believe it or not somany walked from new york to the west coast in the 1800's .. all that for opportunity, and the dangers and hazards, many didn't make it, built to give their children a better life, opportunity.. we really should thank them more.. a lot more
This is a very high quality channel, very entertaining.
Well said. Her work is truly inspiring. Adventures await....
Love your philosophical approach to trecking the mountains. Than you Claire.
So glad you're safe after your tumble Claire. Shaken up, but not deterred! Edit: Your narrative at the end is incredibly poignant and moving - maybe the best yet
Thank you Dan 💚🌿 I think the hardest trips can feel like the best ones when we look back on them. They can teach us so much. Hope you have a lovely week :) CB
Great video again Claire, always a joy to watch your adventures . #keepingitreal 😊
You captured some really beautiful scenery there, makes me want to visit the area♡
Dear Claire, I think with the spirit your videos deliver you've made a lot of lifes better and more courageous you might even have saved some. Yes, we can do it, so let's do it.
Cheers, Michael
Claire you're film making and editing is up there with the best! You really make the viewer feel like we are there with you, it's such a journey from start to finish. Many vloggers including myself would have gave up filming in that weather but you just carried on, what a trooper! Very inspiring. I think falling in that bog would have ended my day, well done and thanks for another great adventure here in sunny Wales 🏴 😂 all the best..
Day
Thanks so much, love the gopro's.. can just whack it on a selfie stick and let it roll when the weather is bad 😄 Yeh I didn't enjoy the bog so much.. it was only a matter of time before that happened I guess haha! Thanks for watching and for having me in your beautiful country 😍 I love it so much. Have a lovely week :) Claire
The miles mean nothing..... it's the quality of the experience.....you make a lot of sense in a mad world....thank you for the inspiration xx
Hey Claire, I bet making these videos is a joy as your doing what you love. Thanks for your positivity, it’s infectious. Good reactions on that bog, I bet that was a wee bit scary.
Heyy, aw yeh it is, I'm a photographer by trade so these videos bring my 2 hobbies together :) It was a bit yeh, hate those things 😄 thank you for watching :) Claire
@@WildBeare that explains your videography work, it’s brilliant.
This is such beautiful landscape. My eyes have never seen such beautiful scenery. I'm envious. 😊
Wow, that bog dive must have been terrifying 😲 It's good you didn't panic, but threw yourself forward. So, now you've ticked that box. Once is enough.
Awesome video, and scenery, as always. And I love your positive take on life, it's inspiring to follow your journeys in the wild.
Take care, Claire🙋🏻♂️
Thank you Tommy :) yeh it wasn't the best feeling that bog haha. Hope you're having a nice week 🌿
@@WildBeare Thanks, same to you
Claire, thank you once again for taking an old man to the places that he missed while stationed at at RAF Valley, North Wales. Such Beautiful country with a beauty. My orienteering club never went to places like you do. Thanks again . Careful of the bogs, you are too precious to lose.
Don't change too much; you're such a happy, positive, person. Have you studied geology at all? The backgrounds of your trips show a great deal of what I believe to be a post-glacial landscape.
Aw thank you 😊 No I haven't, but I do believe you are right about that :)
I am so proud of you for what you do. Do it while your still young. The memorys of the hikes youve been on will vast and proud ones. KOOTOS TO YOU!!!
Well done Beare. Wonderful words at the end. Spot on. You pick a tough beautiful place to explore, and like you, love them sort of places to visit. Quiet and stunning, just yourself and mother nature, and your best friend 🐑😂 Last time I was uo there was a few springs ago and it was awesome. Even though never saw the sun. Adventures like this brings out the best in us. Never Stop Claire. It's in the Soul
Heyy Asa, yehh I so love these lil wild pockets of rugged that we have, it's amazing up there isn't it 😍 the sheep really enjoyed me being there, I could tell 😄 thanks for watching my lil vid, happy Adventuring friend, it is in the soul indeed 🌿 have a lovely week
Be safe, love your videos and your style. You seem like beautiful soul ❤ You make me feel like I am part of the adventure with you 🙌
How you don’t have 1 million subscribers is beyond me…and why Hilleberg doesn’t employ you as their ambassador is another mystery! Killer photography as always! You seem to navigate mostly by terrain association, very impressive! Most people couldn’t find their way out of their own neighborhoods!
Well done what a difficult trip so pleased your OK with those dangerous bogs
Hi Claire, inspirational as ever. I'll be off to the Peak District at the weekend. Hiking, not camping. Those days are far behind me now.
Your videos are a breath of fresh air and, as I said, an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much Andy, have an amazing time in the peaks 😍
Love your content. Your messages at the end are always so uplifting and inspiring. Keep up the good work
Very impressed by your constant determination. There seemed the odd time your face gave away the fact that you were thinking so hard about what to do next !
Many people would have turned back saying “sod this “ !
It was a timely video reminding me how carful you need to be when solo.. I am off the Dartmoor this weekend and watching the weather reports closely.. Say well, stay safe .
Thanks Robert, haha yeh you can see me processing stuff for sure 😄 Have an amazing time on Dartmoor this weekend, I'm watching the weather too, looks like it's gonna be interesting 😬 I will, you too :) 🏕
You do hike and camp in spectacular and challenging locations, sometimes treacherous as well. Take care and thanks for taking me along!
It always amazes me that, no matter how far from the beaten path you go, there always seems to be drystone walls 🙂And how hard would it be to build up there? You seem to genuinely enjoying the wild.
Haha me too! They are literally everywhere you go.. I always wonder the same thing 😄 I do indeed, thank you for stopping by my lil vid :) 🌿
Your videos are all beautiful and artistic what you show us is like taking on the journey with you
Brave and strong
Instagram girl, bah, they couldnt make the first rigde
Or know how to setup a tent
You keep going, looking forward to everyone
Been binging on your vids for a week
Hey Claire 😊 glad to see your channel is doing well, keep up the amazing content! I will be having a huge binge on your latest videos over the weekend as I haven’t seen your last 17 videos as I’ve been backpacking Eastern/Central Europe for sometime but back in jolly old England now. All the best ☺️
Heyy! Ahh how amazing! Thought I'd not seen you about for a while, what an incredible time you must have had, what an experience 😍 Welcome back to England :) ☕️
@@WildBeare thank you, yes I have missed watching your content. Thanks Claire 😊
Wow! Talk about a detailed list of equipment. I was going to ask which boots and socks you use, but you already had it sorted!
Great videos. Thank you
When I see Claire brave this kind of environment and weather, it proves how much of a badass she is.
Yes! And all with that lovely smile and great attitude. A Tier One operator in my book. Inspiring...
Claire is one amazing woman. Sweet as honey, smart, with a beautiful soul.
Just wanted to be the first one to say, "Hi Claire!!!"
I love all the stone walls and stone houses you come across! They tell a story of another time. Makes me wish I could meet the people that once lived there.
Brilliant just Brilliant, glad your safe after your sinking feeling!! Scary stuff Claire....i liked you end peice, wise words 💥
You'll get better at walking across bogs and spotting the parts that you'll sink into. I'm sure you've already improved massively. It's an acquired skill.
Brilliant video as always.
Thank you for taking us along your journey.
Good morning Angel ❤🎉 be careful have a Beautiful Blessed Day ❤🎉😊
Loved every second of that but yes, fully understood you fears falling in the bog, Garmin inreach or not!
You did well to recover as you did
A true inspiration for anyone
You are one of a myriad of courageous women out there living your dream and passion and living your life. Thank you for inspiring many other women out there!
Bryan from Vancouver
You are wonderfull !!!❤ Beautyfull content. Love it 💓
Enjoyed this video Claire. Please stay careful in those boggy areas!!
Evening Claire that 1st night after a dry trek ,then you got to sleep listening to rain on canvas !!! wow a tad jealous ,i enjoy your thinking about your route planning have to change due too conditions a clever lady and your carrying some weight .Sharing your adventures with us always puts a smile on my face ,Thankyou .
Bogger me, another great video, and the music is epic. Thank you ATB
I really enjoyed that camp and hike. Extremely precarious in places. It was a good example of how careful one must be walking in nature. You falling into that bog taught me a lesson of just how dangerous it can be when walking/hiking/meandering in the wild.
You make great entertaining and informative films; brilliant editing. Great stuff. 👍
Amazing video and trip as usual. Not sure who said it but I will pass it along here. 'It is not the quantity of miles you cover, it is the quality of them! @WildBeare.
Emotive and atmospheric, wonderful.
