Drone shots, underwater shots, shots from a static camera at a distance… the amount of running backward and forward getting all that amazing footage is bonkers. Awesome work
I went there as a teenager in the 70s in a really hot summer. We sat on that island, and I played a guitar (yep, I carried that old guitar all over Snowdonia until it broke), and we sat there all night and climbed down in the dawn. Snowdon was really busy that year, but for some reason, we didn't see anyone when we were up at the lake. We had a lot of special times in those mountains that year. A group of teenagers from London who had just done their O-Levels and felt the world was theirs. It's wonderful to see that the spirit still exists. A beautiful little film.
I camped in the same spot some 30 years ago, but wasnt quite as lucky with the weather. By nightfall, the wind had picked up to gale force and I spent the night clinging onto the main pole to stop the tent blowing away. To cap it all, I developed a fever and was all too happy to retreat the next morning to spend the day shivering and sweating in the local youth hostel. Even so, I still look back on that trip with gratitude
Claire I don't think you really know how much of an inspiration you are, not to mention what an incredibly beautiful human being. This was magical, thank you!
Couldn't agree more! Claire has really inspired me to start wild camping myself, it's been particularly great to see another women out doing it. I look forward to all her videos.
@@leroy7513 Hi Le Roy, great to hear your opinion. But in the interest of free speech, I must say, I hate this narrative I receive all the time about being a weak and vulnerable female in in the outdoors. Of all the things everyone does on a daily basis (including getting into a car), wild camping is very low down the list in terms of danger. And of course there is risk - as there is in anything :) You just take precauations to lower it, and apart from that steep ledge - which Claire then avoided - this was very low risk. Would you have called enjoying a night outdoors foolish if she were a man? I think the only thing foolish here is for her to not live a life doing the things that make her healthy and happy, like getting outdoors. I think we all deserve that, regardless of gender, and I wish the same to you too :)
One of the things I like that you do well, also Bushman and Blue, is to describe and discuss the risks you face on your adventures and the decision making process you go through to mitigate risk or modify your plans when the risk is too great. It helps those less experienced to understand the decision making steps when doing activities such as this. You portraying your fears and limitations is so valuable to let others know it’s ok to change plans before a dangerous situation is created.
I was just coming to make a similar comment… I think it’s great to hear the whole story and that you still have a great time on your adventures even though you’ve had to adjust plans for reasons of safety or comfort :)
Not many people seem to have commented on this aspect so I just had my tuppence - absolutely amazing production qualities. Really a very talented video maker - thank you so much

On an island, on a lake, high on a mountain, just you and the goats and sheep! Wow, that is incredible! I'm glad the weather held for your adventure this trip. When I think about all the doubling back to move cameras and tripods, and shooting the same precarious segments from different perspectives, I applaud your efforts. What is already a dangerous feat, you go back and do all over again for the aerial shot, or the low-to-the ground perspective shot! Your trips are awe inspiring, Claire. Thanks for taking us along!
Hi Randy! Ahh thanks, it was an amazing lil trip 😍 Yep it's a lott of work to film these but I love to do it, a nice lil project. Been gradually working my way through all your videos. Just magical. You are so talented, so positive, just love your adventurous spirit. Amazing locations and never a complaint if the rain comes in. You just embrace everything in your path. Joyful.
After grinding through another hot, wet, mosquito infested day trying to salvage the remains of my home / life which was destroyed by Hurricane Ian, I find my sanity restored by watching your videos. So true what you say, Claire. I cycle a lot, and when I go on a long ride - 100 miles or more - I can always find many reasons NOT to do it. What a fantastic, stunning and amazing place to camp! Amazing scenery and what a massive climb... I bet you were glad to chill after all that effort! 🙂
Hello Claire, it is obvious from your comments section that you are bringing a lot of joy and a bit of much needed escapism to your followers when so many don’t get out in the wild as much as we should. Me included in that statement. But thank you for reminding us all, in these economic tough times that we can just get out in the country and enjoy the simple pleasure of being there. And leave our worries at home. Your films are well made and inspiring and remind us to enjoy our own company sometimes, away from the crowds and the noise of our everyday lives. Thank you and keep taking us along on your adventures. Regards Andrew
Hi Andrew! Aw thanks so much, yes it's a simple kind of happiness 🌿💚 I actually am only out on alternate weekends when my son is with his dad, although it must look like I'm out all the time haha! It's a much-needed break from work, bills & all that modern-day noise, to-do-lists and chaos. Your kind words are much appreciated, thank you for coming along with me on my wanderings :) hope you're having a lovely week and best wishes, Claire 🐻
Well Claire, thank you for your kind reply. Having watched a fair few of your trips in the great outdoors, I admire your glass always being half full attitude to life and even when it gets a bit cold or the rains come, you always keep smiling. Your son is lucky to have such a mum with so much get up and go and I assume you have been on tenting trips together and made memories for him that he will look back on fondly when he is older. Your biltong and noodles I imagine always taste better half way up a mountain than eating it sitting on the couch in front of the telly. They always say it tastes better outdoors. If nothing else I imagine it makes you appreciate the food you have taken on your trip and to enjoy it at your own pace and leisure. No rush. Your trips allow you to get your mind in order and think through any small problems you may have.
I am thinking of walking to the top of a small local hill in the not to distant future, which will be nothing compared to your trips but will be my own little challenge to achieve, allowing for my age and lack of fitness. I won’t be filming it, just my own day out in the fresh air. Your enjoyment, so evident when you film yourself, makes me think it is about time I also started enjoying the crunch of grass underfoot, wind in the face, the odd bird call and watching clouds while lying on my back. Hopefully at the top of that hill ! Keep smiling. Regards Andrew.
Thanks Claire for sharing your latest adventure, camping in the middle of a small tarn. You’re right about people feeling more alive when they are a little outside their comfort zone. Nice one. 😊
You,re videos just get better and better Claire . Well done for facing your fear of heights . Worth it to camp in such a beautiful place . Thanks for taking us along .

Thank you Katie 💚 yes a few people have said that, I don't intend for them to come out to any particular length, they just end up how they end up.. I will try to get a multi-night trip in during autumn, they are always a bit longer :) Hope you have a lovely eve ☺️🌿🐻

You have a way of displaying utter beauty in all your videos. I think it comes from the beauty inside you. In this video, I loved the transition you did when you flew the drone up to see the lake from below then back down. You’re an excellent videographer.
Ahh thank you so much Lisa, I'm loving learning the videography 😍 I usually put snippets of the good stuff in the intro right at the start of the video, but I felt like I wanted to wait for a reveal on this one. Wow Claire that was breathtaking, your filming & Photography is simply amazing. The night scenes and drone footage had my eye's poping out & that island looked so idylic with just the lone little tree to keep you company. Your channel is the best wild camping one that i seen. All the best.

Heyy Karen! Ahh thanks, it sure is beautiful up there isn't it 😍 you are also the best adventure-companion.. I wish we lived nearer & could pop off for a jolly old time whenever we felt like it haha! Love & miss you already! 🌿💚
Thanks for your inspiring videos. I will often watch one before retiring in the evening. The carefully calculated assessment of risk is appreciated. Just last weekend I was in the Te Ureweras just 200 metres from Nikau hut when confronted with a fresh scree covered slip. We climbed high to get over it only to find a second impassable slip that was a shute rising hundreds of metres to towering bluffs. While backtracking I discovered by accident that by sitting down I was destined for a majic carpet ride on my slippery synthetic shorts to the river below. Using a trekking pole I worked my way back to where we could safely scramble to the river and continue to the hut. Scree slopes deserve the respect you give them and today's video reminds me that I was dangerously over extended. My companion had much longer legs so had managed maneuvers beyond my capacity. Lesson for me was don't try and match the capacity of others but instead work to your own limit just like you do.
I camped on that very same island 25 years ago. A storm brewed up from about 6pm and didn't stop all night. It was amazing. My tent fell down and let in water. I fashioned a guy rope out of my boot laces. I dropped back down to Nant Perris the next day to dry out and reflect. The day after I got up early, went back up, took a quick look at where I'd camped up, had a sandwich then carried on over Crib Goch, Snowden then down into Beddgelert. Brilliant time. Thanks for the reminder.
As someone who lives in a big city it's great that we still have wild places where you can be alone in nature. You are a real inspiration to people of all ages and your video skills are really quite professional. Well done.
Thanks so much Paul, yep I'm loving pouring over the maps and planning routes away from the main paths 💚 there were people heading up there when I was on my way down though, so seems I had it pretty lucky! I'm really enjoying learning the videography so again, thank you, and hope you have a lovely eve :) Claire 🐻
Watching this I suddenly remembered what a revelation it was for me, a bookish and introverted teenager, to find myself in beautiful mountains I could walk in all day. Watching a video is not the same of course but some of the beauty and delight is there all the same, thanks to Claire's skill and gift for communicating.

Ahh bless you, that does sound stressful! Yep they did a great job making a lil bridge across :D thanks for watching and hope today is better 🌿 Claire 🐻
OFSTED….unnecessary stress!
You make it look so easy and fun. You are for sure an inspiration to all of who like nature
Your films are well made and inspiring and remind us to enjoy our own company sometimes,
away from the crowds and the noise of our everyday lives. Thank you and keep taking us along
on your adventures.
What an amazing spot you found for pitching the tent! Thank you so much for sharing this trip with us, Claire!
And of course there would be just one tree!!! 🌴🌴🌴. And that made me smile a lot!!!😀😃😄.
Thanks Claire for sharing your latest adventure, camping in the middle of a small tarn. You’re right about people feeling more alive when they are a little outside their comfort zone. Nice one. 😊
Thanks so much for coming along, yes it's very true :) 🌿💚
Those were some beautiful night sky photographs. 🤩 Wow!
You,re videos just get better and better Claire . Well done for facing your fear of heights . Worth it to camp in such a beautiful place . Thanks for taking us along .
Aw thank you so much, I did have a bit of a wobble on the way up and briefly debated going all the way back down.. I'm glad I didn't. Thanks for coming along with me :) Claire 🐻
Beautiful job!
..people will write songs of glory about your adventures and you! ..in times to come..
Love your content!
StayStrong, Claire!😅❤🫡
I love your videos, I wish they were a little longer. What a fabulous spot you picked this time, such a perfect little island. Looking forward to next time.❤
Thank you Katie 💚 yes a few people have said that, I don't intend for them to come out to any particular length, they just end up how they end up.. I will try to get a multi-night trip in during autumn, they are always a bit longer :) Hope you have a lovely eve ☺️🌿🐻
Hi Claire. Tis Irish Bob saying Helllooo Lass.
Always delighted to see one of YT's best representations of Outdoor Adventure.
Enjoy your chats and comments to the viewing crowd. You are an absolute marvel.
Love that you appreciate and respect the environment you choose.
Stay🏋️Stay🩺Stay True, and Stay Real.
Irish Bob applauds your efforts and living in the moment. Such things are real treasures, and will always yield the benefits of time well spent. 😇🤗😎🍀
It was fun to put together, I'm glad you liked it :) Hope you're having a nice week 🌿Claire🐻
As the days are getting shorter this is just the tonic we need beautiful scenery and a star covered sky most of us can't see because of light pollution,I also really like the style of your new tent. Thanks again for taking us along.
I recently discovered this channel, loving it! I am an outdoors enthusiast myself, currently stuck at home recovering from surgery. Getting a big lift from your content! Thanks from Canada
That was a wonderful experience to share with us. Thank you so much 👍🥾🙏
Wow Claire that was breathtaking, your filming & Photography is simply amazing.
The night scenes and drone footage had my eye's poping out & that island looked so idylic with just the lone little tree to keep you company.
Your channel is the best wild camping one that i seen.
All the best.
Aw thank you so much! It was so beautiful up there, I'm glad I didn't turn back, I did debate it at one point when me fear of heights kicked in. Hope you have a great weekend :) 🌿🐻
@@WildBeare Well you beat your fear good and proper but a bit of caution in those circumstances ain't a bad thing 😊
And the same to you 👍
You videos are truly amazing
You are one lucky girl
Life is like an ice cream
Enjoy it before it melts x
The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventure.
Hi Claire im new to your channel. Being disabled, and in a powered wheel chair, there's no way i could make it to such places. However watching your lovely videos / mini documentaries... brings me a chance to see such wonderful landscapes... And actually to a degree i feel perhaps some of the pleasure you feel. I most definitely feel fear when you feel it... Take care Friend and remain Wild ❤️🕊️🫂love peace and harmony for all.
What an amazing location and fabulous pictures of the night sky! Obviously worth all the effort you made to get there
Thanks Terry, I loved it 💚🌿 Have a lovely eve:)
As a photographer I wish I was there, it looks heavenly! You're living the dream.
You’re content is so enriching for yourself and everyone that views your videos.
Thank you so much. 😊😊
What a beautiful video Claire! I know you’d told me all about it but wow, absolutely stunning!!! You are so inspirational and just the BEST adventure companion ever; love you, love your enthusiasm and love your videos! 💕
Heyy Karen! Ahh thanks, it sure is beautiful up there isn't it 😍 you are also the best adventure-companion.. I wish we lived nearer & could pop off for a jolly old time whenever we felt like it haha! Love & miss you already! 🌿💚
@@WildBeare we will build dens in the woods one day!!! 💕💕
Well done Claire. This wasn't an easy one for you, but the rewards were amazing. Thanks for taking us up there with you 🙂💞
Thanks Mick I loved it ☺️ Hope you have a lovely weekend 💚🌿🐻
@@WildBeare Thanks Claire.. hope you have a peaceful one 🙂💞
@@WildBeare missed the trip to mexico...geesh
What a great adventure, beautiful scenery, the beauty an calmness, is breathtaking 🏕
Lovely island trip, Claire 😊
It would really be nice if I could pet those lovely sheep and goats, don't you think the same? I am so lucky that I have found your channel, Claire, your calm, soft voice, your beautiful face, and smile helps me get through these rough winter days a lot easier.
What an idyllic spot! There was even a tree on that tiny island! Just looks too good to be real. Well done on getting there but why not I reckon. Such a cool little campsite to wake up to.
Thanks for your beautiful voice and sharing us you experience on that beautiful island a long with your photography. Be safe out there 😜
Not too shabby. When you said tiny little island you weren’t kidding.
A hard earned slice of heaven. Congratulations. High rewards from our beautiful planet. Mind blowing night sky. What an experience.
So magical. I never thought about goats up there..silly me..l can remember lots of goats in Llandudno on the Great Orme.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
behold the beauty of nature, you are so lucky to be able to see it with your own eyes, thank you for showing it to all
I love all your videos and your spirit and joy for getting out their. I love getting out but you inspire me to do more wild camping as I've gotten too used to being in my little camper. Keep doing what your doing it's fantastic and a joy to see your little adventures
I’ve only recently started watching your videos since on randomly appeared on my feed. Well. What a find. I love watching your adventures and find you very relaxing to listen to and watch. Keep doing them. You’re inspiring a lot of people.
You are showing me/us a side of the UK I did not know existed. As a kiwi (New Zealander) I had no idea the UK was like this. I love the way you make small adventures so wonderful and that their is no need to travel vast distances to have a good time and an adventure. You have made your world a special place.
That's brilliant Claire amazing views etc well done youngen
You are an amazing woman Claire. Taking life by the wotsits and facing your limitations. You should be proud. X
1:19, Wow, those flowers are beautiful!
Nice to see that part of my heritage I don’t get to see very often. The scenery in Wales is under appreciated. I’m guilty myself..
With some friends, I remember camping on the edge of that lake, if I remember correctly it was in 1979. It was snowing and very, very cold. We were not brave enough to get over to the island. Great Vid Claire and thanks for sharing, it brought back some nice memories for me. The next day we climbed up and over Crib Goch. Look forward to your next vid.
You are so brave! You should be proud of yourself, young lady.
Best happy dance I have seen in UA-cam in a long while! Gratz on your mountain challenge. Well done.
This is a stunningly beautiful video, thank you so much for sharing!😊. Hello from Seattle, Washington, USA.
Claire, you are most adventurous. Enjoy all your videos. Your photography is most outstanding. Thank you very much for sharing all your adventures. Wishing you a wonderful day.
That's the way to live your best life! You only live once and, if done right, that's all that you need! Thanks for bringing us along!
This has to be the best one yet, thanks so much for your hard work putting it together for us 🙏👍
Fantastic views. You are so brave, thank you for sharing 🎉❤
The spot where u stopped and said it was testing your fear of heights looked like Volcanic rock. So wicked. Youve come so Far , Well Done.
Wonderful accomplishment. So happy for you. I could feel your elation in reaching the lake. And that region is wild and beautiful beyond compare. (Hmmm… just like the lady trekking about in it. What a coincidence! 😁🥰) Your amazing spirit always shows through, and puts a big smile on my face, watching you do your thing with such tremendous courage and pure joy. Look forward to each new adventure. Thank you so much for sharing. All the best.
You totally smashed it Claire . Loving the little Island camping spot.well done girly
