Of all the self contained mini brewing systems, I'd say I'm actually impressed by this thing..I'm still a bit curious on how they do the bittering hops. One thing you could do is use a hop shot for bitterness and handle it that way. Thanks for sharing the video it was a good one! 👍🍻
Thank you very much BRIAN I’ll probably actually do just that! Hopefully they can help get a brewfather profile figured out. In my opinion only good things will come from that.
They use a proprietary hop pellet called 'steam hops' supposed to dissolve quicker and impart more of the bitterness! Great video Bradley! It tipped my decision to by one!
Thanks to this video it sealed the deal for me. I ordered mine today. I'm a novice home brewer and I can't wait to give this a try. Great footage and tutorial.
Awesome video, I have a Beermkr, and, I am currently brewing my first batch, the Squeaky Kolsch. It is nearing the end of fermentation, and I can't wait to taste it.
Very well narrated, enjoyed the video and glad I found you. I currently use a Clawhammer Supply system to distill spirits. It comes as a BIAB system for making beer too which I have yet to do. I found this BeerMKR on the web and was contemplating buying as opposed to using my BIAB but either way I'm excited to do my first brew! Cheers
Really great content Bradley. Really nicely filmed and voiced. I guess this is pretty expensive, it certainly seems well thought out. It doesn’t look quite as premium as the minibrew, which I covered some time back but it is of the same niche it seems.
It definitely has a nice modern design aesthetic, as far as materials it’s kind of liking. It doesn’t affect performance. I suppose if it was built like a Breville product it would cost twice as much. Thank you very much it definitely took me some time to put this video together🍻
@@PortlyGentleman Greetings from the UK.Great video Brad(as usual) don’t wish to appear negative but seems a lot of work for only just over a gallon of beer and imo way too expensive, you can buy some nice stainless pots for nearly 600 bucks.Another alternative is a 10 Litre Braumeister machine, and in the US can be bought for $999 and makes twice the amount of beer, smaller footprint, and stainless steel construction, and imo will outlast that unit. How long is all that plastic going to last before a hinge or some other vital integral part snaps off? Just had a look on their website and $89 for a 6 x 1 gallon kits?🤔.
Nicely done video! After the vibration bit, I was surprised to see you moved onto pitching yeast then adding hops. What happened to the boil step and kettle hopping? I feel like I'm missing something...
Hey mate great video and excellent and very thorough review. I was just wondering if you’re still going to put up a 2nd review video now that you’ve had it for a while? I’m an all grain brewer but young kids mean brew days take a back seat these days so looking forward to seeing your review about how it goes for diy recipes as well because I’m interested in a system that lets me brew and experiment but works into family life
Very interesting! I think could be useful as a pilot brewery for a bigger system. But I am curious to know how it would translate since there is no real boil. Guess it just gives you a sense of the ingredient flavors. Either way, it's a neat product.
Hi Bradley, quick question, are the bags single or multiple use? Really good video by the way. It's not something I would buy personally but I like to keep the pulse of what else is there. The video does a comprehensive job, bravo 👏.
Saw these Cornell guys on Shark Tank. Super curious to see what an independent reviewer has to think about this device? Especially the “beer bag” I’ve heard people have had those bags break
Were the salt additions to the RO water based on the total water required or the water added to the malt basket? Were the salt additions determined using a pH calculator?
The water additions were made based on the malt and the total water used. I did check the pH and everything was at desired levels. I used brewfather for the calculations I found it to be very accurate I’m also used to it.
Did I miss a boil? Is there a boil? If so, I'm curious how it handles steam. If there's not a boil...well then I guess it would exclusively brew raw ales? Regardless definitely an impressive engineering feat! Cheers!
Unless I missed it, is there a cooling mechanism for lagering? And do they provide instructions on how to build your own recipes? (e.g., programming temps, maximum amount of grains).
It is fully temperature controlled it was able to crash the beer down to 40°F.There is a manual recipe move that was just release today for android and hopefully iPhone in a couple days.
@@williamblack6197 I’m not sure how it would do if ambient temperatures were in the Mid 80s f definitely inside anyone’s home I would assume it could handle it.
What was the volume you got in the beer bag? Was it 2 or 3 gallons? How about the cleanup? I have seen some reviews that said the pressure side was weak at delivery. Great job and looking forward to your full review.
I have no issues with pressure at all those users may have made some errors potentially. Cleanup is pretty straightforward literally just rinse it and then throw it in the dishwasher. I think a little more than a gallon
No boil? You are going to have some issues with sanitation if you do not boil and without a 60 minute boil with your hop schedule this is really just a toy. Buy a Grainfather and make real beer.

The vibrating bit had the wife and I both laughing ... cool little unit Sir! Cheers!
Thank you very much I’m happy to entertain if nothing else 🍻
So it’s possibly a his and hers unit huh 😝

That’s awesome up to this point was your experience about the same as mine?
@@PortlyGentleman I would say yes, even though we did different recipes the process looks the same.
Interesting. I have given some thought to a beer recipe testing system and this would certainly work for that
Well done. Great little machine. Looking forward to cracking into ours. Keep brewing my friend! 🍻
What a cool machine ;)
Thank you guys very much for giving me the opportunity to get to know it and continue to brew with it 🍻
Biased much?!? lol
I believe there was a couple of these beer makers a few years ago. Pico brew comes to mind, It´s a coffee machine for beer and it looks easy, Cheers
It definitely simplifies the process ..It makes one hell of a beer from the one that I’ve tried .
@@PortlyGentleman I´m curious about bitterness. Do this thing bring wort to a boil? Also O.G & F.G readings.

As usual, great video. This nerdy gadget is not for me but I am glad we have so many options. And, I've not seen a review as good as this yet. Cheers!
Thank you very much I appreciate your support!!!
I see a pretty nice looking fermenter in the background @ 16:30, can't wait to see that.
Won’t be to much longer !

I’m hoping to figure out that exact question in the coming weeks and produce a video! Honestly the beer it made is really good..
@@PortlyGentleman looking forward to that!

I haven’t had any break yet I know they have really some revive seals and connectors 🍻
Great video! Thanks for posting, you've got a friendly "I know this guy" vibe.
very well done! great work
Thank you 🍻🍻
Can you please tell what will be alchohol contect in it ?? Approximate ??
How does worth boil and hop scedule work?
Great review! Out of curiosity, how much time elapsed from starting the brew to pouring that glass?
I think it took about 8 days . I’m hoping to speed that time up by using Voss or another similar strain.

That is a gadget. But it does what it says it makes beer. You mention 24 hour mash, no boil?
Was there a boil step and I missed it? I rewound and didn’t see a boil step. Am I going crazy?
No boil with this one
