was with the 195 proof clickbait bs? also what was that milky stuff you added?
How much does it raise ambient temp? Like on a 50° night are you comfortable or do you need a coat or blanket to stay warm?
Can you show us how this would work on Non-Brewtools fermenter.
Absolutely! That video is on the way. It's going to work perfectly. What kind of tank are you using?
Spike cf5 conical
@@PortlyGentleman BrewBuilt X3, please.
Would you be able to do a video on what a relay is? What's a CAN BUS? Why is the pressure sensor in that port and not one of the others? Seperately, do you need the airlock on the gas-out if there is always going to be positive pressure inside the tank? I'm assuming all these components are optional and you can have say just the heating and cooling without gas in/out and pressure sensor? Great video as always!
I've got it on that part because that's where I like to look at it to be honest. You wouldn't want to have it in on a liquid port. The M12 version with the solenoid valve may be the best one to go with. I just don't like the way it looks functionally it's probably the best. CAN bus stands for Controller Area Network bus. It's a robust and efficient communication protocol widely used in vehicles and industrial automation. Think of it as a way for different electronic devices within a car or machine to "talk" to each other. * Decentralized: Unlike traditional systems where a central computer controls everything, CAN bus allows devices to communicate directly with each other. This makes the system more reliable and responsive. * Message-based: Data is transmitted in the form of messages or "frames," each with an identifier that indicates its content and priority. This ensures that important messages, like those from the brakes in a car, get through quickly. * Robust: CAN bus is designed to work reliably in harsh environments with electrical noise and interference, making it ideal for use in vehicles and industrial settings. * Efficient: CAN bus uses a simple and efficient communication scheme, minimizing the amount of wiring and processing power required. This helps to reduce costs and complexity.

@PortlyGentleman maybe by the time I decide to get one someone will figure out a way to use it on the spike heater. Thanks for the videos

Looks great! What was your water chem profile?
How can I get one in America?
OW what a mess 😏I am sorry for you. But I have a story as well 😂🤣 Something with a wort transfer to the F80 and the hose fell out the fermenter... panic! I was not shutting down the pump but grabbed the hose and put it back in... wort of OG 1.065 on wall, F80 jacket, floor, pump, temp controller, troll table and MANY other parts in the brewery. I feel your pain, yours is worse ☺ Awesome video mate, thanks for sharing cheers! 🍻
Would it be feasible to cone dump via a solenoid valve?
No, but we plan to work on servo driven butterfly valves for FCS :)
Servos are good 🍻
@@PortlyGentleman Yeah, I'm struggling a bit with the idea of a pneumatic butterfly valve.
@@Brewtools how many fermenters i could control with one I/O module ?
@aidassinkevicius4733 one
This is fascinating to me. My day job is working for a global multinational corp helping them secure scientific/lab/medical equipment and we spend a lot of time on CAN bus architectures specifically, so this is a weird crossover for me as a homebrewer. Part of me wants to lobby my wife to buy it early as a 'research opportunity' and part of me wants to wait and see how it shakes out as we don't really need automation at this point in our homebrewing production (45L every few months). I think for now I'm going to watch Bradley and Lyndon have fun with the prototypes and early release gear and see where this leads, but man is the future looking pretty bright. Still want something that does live pH and SG readings as part of the brewing and fermentation cycle, but as of yet that's unobtainium at the homebrewing scale/cost level. I also wouldn't mind a flow meter that tells me how much wort/beer has flown through a given valve, but that's also science fiction at our cost level (hundreds of dollars/euros) right now. Still, wow, very cool to see Oyvind and Brewtools pushing the edge of the envelope as far as tech in brewing :D :D :D. I do have a savings fund where I sink a bunch of money each paycheck towards brewing specifically, and Brewtools and Kegland seem to be earning that money each year.
That is pretty crazy. Definitely gravity readings are a thing. pH readings could also be done I think pretty easily.. I wonder how reliably you can sanitize the membrane on a sensor? I'm sure it could be done easily pH would absolutely be helpful
Thanks for your review on the chamber. I have been experimenting with different recipes without any form of temperature control and am convinced that my brews will be much better having one of these fridges. Living in the Far North tropical climate of Australia it is quite a challenge keeping the temperature down to the recommendations of the yeasts. (will be ordering one of these chambers this week) If your Portly Gentlemen glass competition is still running my first brew for it will be an American Porter.
and you just stuffed your gasuge for your blowtie running beer through it to the auto shutoff, you should use a spundy without the gauge in it for this auto shutoff or this particular spundy behind the auto shutoff not between the keg and the shutoff.
I re a lly enjoy your videoes
Thank you 🍻
The missing link in this video is suggested retail price. I'm sure it's out of the price range of the average home brewer.
There's a couple links in the description that will take you to the current price depending where you are in the world...
What size of hose do you recommend to use on the blinchmann pump to cip?
“Respect the shaft” [chuckles in schoolboy]. Interesting to see how this develops through 2025, thanks for finding another way to spend my money! ;)
I'm always here to help 🍻🍻
I have save it to check it out later. BUT. I only produce 60L a month and I kinda like the hands on approach. Even though I use brewfather I have only ever used my B80 on manual mode.
I'm right there with you at this point in time I still I still like manual control of the brewing process. But fermentation that's one that I'm happy to hand over to the machines. 🍻🍻🍻
I agree. The tighter the controls on fermentation the better. I will watch tomorrow bud. Been partying tonight 😉Keep on keeping on. You're doing a great job!
I have been waiting for this video since you first teased the FCS :) Thank you! Also, I would like to tell you from the heart how much I respect you. I have been watching your videos since your very early ones (omg, has it really been 5 years already?) and the reason I stuck with you right then and there is that you seemed so sincere, humble and knowledgable at the same time. Thank you for maintaining those qualities while improving the technical side of your videos :) It has been a lot of fun seeing your brewery evolve and diving into new brew toys with you. I am looking forward to the next 5 years <3 Cheers from a stranger from the internet

Love your videos, Love what your channel does. Several of your videos have gotten me interested in brew tools equipment. The unfortunate truth is that because they are UK based; shipping is horrendous to the US. I tried to buy 4 of their dripless glycol connectors and it was $40 for shipping

How is the heating feel compared to gas heaters like that? I understand the BTU rating is high but how does it feel standing next to it in comparison to gas?
It's more powerful and more efficient. Gas is going to be easier obviously
Hi! Worth upgrade the brewzilla or simply buy the brewtools system? What is you opinion about the two systems?
I think the two are for two very different Brewers to be honest. They both work Splendidly
@@PortlyGentleman Can you explain that please?
Could you use this indoors? Cut the chimney add a 2 or 3 layer through wall pipe ... really no different then a wood burner all panels get hot ??
I'm no expert. I'm sure you could probably be a little bit more dangerous.. lol
Sampling aged spirits at barrel proof level, both from the visual as well taste wise is pretty pointless unless you’re thinking of consuming the product undiluted.
Could you describe your thoughts in greater detail?
Once you dilute spirits with water, distilled or well, it impacts the visual aspect of the spirit as it becomes transparent with it. A product will look great off the barrel but may look pale and lifeless once dilluted to 40/80 degrees, where it is normally consumed. The same with the flavour. Once you dillute the spirit the flavour changes. A strong concentration of flavours at barrel proof will often turn into scattered flavours when dilluted. That’s why the look and taste at proof is irrelevant if your idea is to sell the product at a dilluted level. I hope that made my point clearer?
What psi do you use for pouring?
Between 10 and 12
The instructions for this yeast shows a fermentation temperature from 65-85 F at atmospheric pressure. Since you fermented under 10-12psi, you bumped it up to 90 F. How did you arrive at using this temperature? Are there equations/tables to adjust temperatures and reduction of fermentation time? References much appreciated! Glad I recently discovered your channel!
The difference in flavor at 85 and 90 is negligible. In my opinion, you're really looking at fermentation speed. Pressure in my opinion is the way to go if you are capable of doing it. I have intimate knowledge of the yeast strain.
Our boy has a nice little brewing set in the back there!!
🍻
Looks great but what does it do better than the competition? What do we have to do to get a jacketed cone?
Absolutely a jacketed cone and a fully insulated body will be the next evolution...
Love to see the modified ultra sonic . Great follow up vid , can't wait to see more.

Can you describe what is happening here? Where is the wort taken from? Bottom drain or a side port? Ist it running through the chiller while whirlpooling? What's the timescale of all this steps? I have a similar setup, but it's not a Brewtools system and for it will never settle out, so I' trying to understand what is happening here.
Hey It's taken through the intake Port as always. That would be on the right side of the brewery as you're facing it. I probably started running it through the chiller at the very end of the whirlpool. It's been a long time...

Um.. Make sure the beer is as cold as possible. This is going to help with foaming also, if you're overly carbonated, this may give you problems.. and or if you don't have enough line that may cause excessive foaming.
