STEVE MILLER GOES OFF ON ROCK HALL AFTER INDUCTION, CHEAP TRICK DURING SPEECH

- Steve Miller was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame last night in Brooklyn with Chicago, Cheap Trick, NWA, and Deep Purple, and he called the organization to task for charging artists for tickets for loved ones and bandmates while Cheap Trick called the hall out during their acceptance at the podium - and you won't see that April 30 on HBO, check it out, here!
A despicable organization. Steve Miller had the balls to call them on their bullshit. Kudos to him.
Yes Anybody who defends the RNR Hall of whatever it is now is obviously a Shill who works for them and not a true RocknRoll fan.l
Kiss blasted the hall too
R$R hof is a complete farce!
So did Alex Lifeson. In his special way.
How didn't Steve Miiler Band, Kiss, Rush, Heart, Cheap Trick, Yes, etc...... Get in before Beastie Boys, Madonna, etc..........

All of that democrat republican bullshit is for getting votes and laws passed that benefit them and they're cohorts.
I guarantee that you have people in the rrhof who are in both parties and they don't have any other agenda than to make money.
@@kennybeans6115 Really? like the democrats are all about the money? Take a look at the republican party and their history since Gingrich started running the show.... and shame on you for bringing politics into this.
The smartest rock musician ever. He refused the very first contract he was offered because he could see it was a ripoff. Never sold rights to his music. My favorite all-time.
Steve is NOT the smartest musician by a long shot but he is a down to earth stand up guy and in the end that's probably more important. Greed is what gets people into trouble and the lack of it has served him well
Saw him in concert right before the pandemic. Humble as ever!
Sorry Frank was the smartest most business savvy rock musician ever! Don't get me wrong Steve Miller is awesome!
I heard he can be a real douchebag too and this confirms it.
Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys: "Of course there are problems in the music industry. Of course. But we were there, unpaid, on our own free will, to come celebrate his achievements and spread the joy of rock & roll. And for Pat and I, the most unpleasant part was being around him.”

I didn’t think my respect for Steve Miller could increase anymore. What a badass.
Steve Miller, legend status: CONFIRMED.
Somebody needed to put these big mouth 👄 press conference ushers or whatever the hell they are into their place and I’m glad someone did ! Go Steve 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
You said it pal. MORE respect for him than ever before.
Music is about making yourself feel good. And the rest is history. If your playing music to please others or win recognition then it becomes work and soulless. The hall of fame is in your fans. Exactly where it should be.
To Steve Miller and Cheap Trick. I will honor you at my 65th BD and tickets are 1st come 1st serve. Unlimited.
He didn't need their BS confirmation. He has record sales and sells out venues all over the globe. These Jackasses are irrelevant to rock n roll. We all know it's BS.

Cheap Trick is a class act. They did a USO tour back in the 80's. They sat down and visited for hours at the rec center. They played their hearts out for us. I was front row standing in a aircraft hanger getting pelted with Ricks guitar picks.
Was that on the hawk
It wasn't very classy of them to attempt to keep Bun E. from performing at the ceremony. He deserved that opportunity every bit as much as the other 3.
The last time I ran into Rick, here in Rockford, Illinois, I went up to him and he gave me a whole Handful of Picks! He also took a couple minutes to visit with me; a fabulous, lifetime memory for me! 8-)
Steve Miller-- this is what a class act looks like-- that man, the myth, the legend... telling it like it is even when the true is ugly. Much respect!!!
We need more people in the world like Steve👍
My respect and admiration for Steve Miller just went up after watching this.
Bret Moore I agree we don’t need a Hal of fame. Hall of fame for me is singing along to the songs on the radio. Listening to my records, cd’s. Steve Miller is right no hall of fame is needed.

I love Steve Miller’s music, but now I love him even more!
I never realize the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame was a scam. Now I know.
Its a joke!! You can learn a lot!
It’s been such a sham for awhile
Paul Stanley has a video on what a joke it is... and hes inducted twice.
You should have known that, when it was built in Ohio, instead of the HOME of Rock and Roll, DETROIT! Bob Seger knew that, YEARS AGO--The list of people that have "made it" in the music business FROM Detroit is a HELL of a lot longer than ANY such "list" of successful rock musicians to come out of Cleveland. Facts...
Look how long it took them to induct Steve Miller and Rush for that matter
When the started letting non rock acts in, they lost all credibility
Michael Rauch They lost all credibility when they inducted Madonna before Rush
Absolutely. It is a total crock now.
They never had credibility. Some people started handing out garbage and it means something?
I agree that the RRHF is a joke and is the opposite of what rock n roll is about for most people. But I think hip-hop, country and some other genres CAN be rock - in the sense that it carries the attitude of rock. Rock (I think) can refer to the sound of course, but rock can also refer to the feeling or impression it makes on the audience or general public. That's why I honestly believe rock n roll will never die. The sound most certainly will fade away but the tradition of pushing boundaries with loud abrasive angst and angered filled music will continue to piss off the older generations. In the long run it be a positive influence on the youth by giving them a way of venting.
Just my 2 cents, hell my opinion isn't even worth that much! But young people need to feel like they are making something new even though it's all a big circle. Things rise and fall, then a few generations later they return. No point in fighting it. Even in the height of classical music you had composers who was rock stars of their day. I'm all for any music that makes people happy.

Steve Miller still has the rock and roll attitude and isn't afraid to speak his mind.
+James Crane Gail Zappa and Johnny Rotten also spoke out against this whole idea that they ought to pay a lot of money for seats when someone's supposedly being "honored." Scam. And the Hall had Lou Reed, who as it happens Frank hated, induct Frank against Gail's wishes. It's like, "Who are you, Gail Zappa? We've got your husband's name to leech off of however we feel like it, and you'll take it and like it."
I'm proud of Steve Miller for speaking up.
Yay, it's Miller time!!
Wow, just came across this video! It’s amazing! Steve Miller is a true rebel rock musician!More Musicians need to speak up like this!👍🎸🎤🎼👊
Foreigner, Ted Nugent, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, they all deserve to be in. It's so disappointing that more really good artists never get considered, yet people that aren't even rock n roll get in. It's rigged
It's a stupid popularity contest... at best!
Go Steve Miller! Made me an even bigger fan.
Me too, I downloaded a couple more songs.

"I'll wrap you up" lol. You go Steve!
He can afford to buy all the $10k each tickets he wants but just cuz you got money doesn’t mean you like gettin scammed.
The RARHOF was a great idea, a noble one. I stumped for it to be here in CLE. Got my founders badge, chatted with the staff on opening day, and I told them that the floor with the inductees on grey LCD screen kiosks in a sea of black plastic carpet looked more like a mausoleum than a tribute to brilliant, vibrant music that for me, is and always will be very much alive. They noted this and thanked me for my input. Visited a couple more times, taking some UK friends who popped over to visit on the CLE tour. Now it's pretty much a wank. If Rolling Stone magazine were a building, it would be the Hall of Fame. It's the Hard Rock Cafe with no burgers.
Are you there? Say a prayer, for the pretender. Who started out so young and strong, only to surrender.
I often hear people say that there is no good music anymore and this is so far from the truth! we are only being fed what the greedy music industry is feeding us. I am overjoyed to see real musicians stand up and speak their minds! This makes me so happy.
I always thought Steve Miller was a cool cat....now I KNOW he is!
He definetly is , he has all my respect. WHat brought me here was an interview with the Black Keys, the duo who introduced Steve Miller that night, they were putting that speech down and really going low slandering Steve Miller, the whole shit remains like an enigma to me as why their reaction was so stupid
As a 30 year Musician veteran I understand exactly what Steve is saying. I wouldn't have done it like that but that is some BS thought. Glad he spoke out. Should've did it a little different though
Steve was one of the guys who started pretty much the revolution of sticking his nose up at the record companies and saying I own all of my own material, he sort of blackballed himself from quite a few of them but stuck by his guns from the beginning and always owned all of his own material copyrights everything. He’s always been a bad ass
Epictetus of Hierapolis I used to have a small music shop in Ketchum, Idaho. Kim, Steve's wife, would come in and order many of The Steve Miller Box Sets for Christmas gifts. They wanted to support me. Steve sometimes came in wanting me to put great jazz albums in his hands because he wanted to listen jazz. Truly down to earth lovely people. Cool as I've ever met, alright.
Wow that was great of Steve Miller to stand up against the greedy bastards.
Love it! About time someone speaks up. And after being inducted so as not to get blackballed, as so many legends have in this process.
“I’m gonna wrap you up.” 😂 Genius.
