The female singer, Paula Cole, was called in last minute after Sinead O'Conner dropped out. She had one rehearsal before this gig. The whole set is worth a watch.
First off, let me say, you two are the most genuine and amazing reactors on UA-cam! ❤ You need to have 10x the views as people need to see how amazing a couple you both are. Anyways I’m happy to see the joy this song brings you. It was the big song when i was in middle school (about 12-13 yrs old) and it would be played at the school dances. Please get a Patreon or a way we can donate to you as if any reactors deserve it, its you two. YOU both bring joy and happiness with your reactions and genuineness. Keep it up!
It is like a tribal experience for everyone with this particular performance. Peter Gabriel is one of my favorite singers. A true humanitarian too. He have many iconic songs and videos. A genuine artist.
This is the kind of music you can get when you have amazing musicians that are given latitude to improvise and build on each others’ work. No egos, just sheer joy.
Peter Gabriel is a true musical genius. All of what he has offered has been so full of beauty & enlightenment. He is an old soul and sincerely shares his talent. Many thank yous to you two for sharing this one. True & pure joy.
Greetings! By the time Peter Gabriel released the album PG4 (Security in the USA) he had finally worked African and other world music into his music. There were critics at the time who said he was betraying his white fans (in the UK and elsewhere). In an interview, Peter said in return that the praise from black music magazines meant more to him than the criticism. I like his purely British songs, but mixing music from other cultures is what defines his style and I can't imagine life without it.
Really enjoyed your reaction to this classic performance!!!! If you want to react to another Peter Gabriel that is equally amazing, I HIGHLY recommend "Don't Give Up" from this same Secret World tour!! Absolutely beautiful performance by Paula Cole on that song!!!!
Peter is a pioneer in world music, always with very talented people around him. I saw him on the "So" tour, a different type of show, but with the joy and the talent. Your reactions bring back the joy of music, you're witty and make me laugh a lot Keep doing this!
It is amazing that Peter can jump around and sing with such power. He was in Genesis with Phil Collins. They both have such clear voices you can understand what they are singing. Phil can also jump around with a lot of energy yet not lose a thing with his voice. Gabriel was a big force in bringing World Music to the stage (Collins also embraced it). You need to dive into some (or a lot of) Genesis! A deep and fulfilling 'rabbit hole'.
Also worth reacting to from that same concert is Peter singing ‘Don’t Give Up’ with Paula Cole. This was the song he originally sang with Kate Bush on the studio recording.
Peter Gabriel is a genius. He is what I always envisioned Pink Floyd's Syd Barret becoming as he got older if had he not had his mental health issues. We'll never know that sadly. But Peter is amazing.
I love his voice its one of my favorites As a teen in the 70s i was not into old Genesis with Peter I love them now Try Suppers Ready by them it went into my top 10 the first time i heard it
Quite possibly the greatest performance version ever of this song. All stand out remarkably but Paula hitting and holding that high note so long only to take it even higher yet is outstanding. Class Act Mr. Gabriel is he. Genius taking to a higher level he is.
Next to Pink Floyd’s 1994 Pulse Concert, this is an all time favourite live concert. You should do every song from the concert, they are all amazing. Great job, as usual ❤️🇨🇦👍
A real feel good song and I enjoyed watching it with you! Peter is such a great artist, Kate Bush and him were 2 of my favorites when I was a child.. and still they are ;) You should react to "Downside up" where he sings with his daughter Melanie.
Me don't like it, me LOVE it! 🔥 And you guys ain't too bad yourselves. 😎 Always love your passionate and heartfelt reactions. Cheers from Toronto Canada.☮️🎵
This was the encore at the end of the "Secret world live concert", that is why they start this one under the dome and end going back under the dome. I have the double CD from this concert and I've watched the video of the concert many times. The whole of the concert is a celebration of life, not all the songs are light hearted, but over all up or down it is part of life. A good selection of Peter's best songs are in this concert, but not nearly all of them. I'll suggest for your next Peter Gabriel song go for "Don't give up" It is done in this concert, with Paula Cole, the original with Kate Bush is a simple yet powerful video.
This is an amazing version, but listen to the version from the 2003 Growing Up Live tour. The backing vocalist there is a young lady from Uzbekistan named Sevara Nazarkhan and she is amazing in her own right.
I couldn't click fast enough when i saw you folks react to this concert selection. EVERYTHING from this particular concert is incredible. Music and a celebration of life. Beautiful. Paula Cole replaced someone else just a few days prior to this concert in Italy. Peter flew her from California to meet them in Germany then on to Italy.
Shaking The Tree (African move+ mood), Blood Of Eden (deep), Digging The Dirt (dark, exciting), Secret World (main topic), Don't Give Up (so touching, togetherness; original with Kate Bush, but Paul Yates does it brilliantly in her own way) are just another highlight. It remains today cooks small but still delicious rolls, was on tour in Europe this spring. Mark Knopfler is also on the way. These are musicians with heart & blood, who continue their fantastic musical journey according to their age and their grown ideas👍.
Peter Gabriel was originally one of the members of the Band Genesis which included Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford. The musical minds of these 3 alone is amazing with all three producing some incredible and timeless music individually. Loved your reaction, thank you.
Thank you for your wonderful genuine reaction and please react to Genesis “The Knife” this is also sung by Peter Gabriel. Keep enjoying what you do and yourselves great reaction.
Paula Cole 4 or 5 days before this performance was sitting on her couch in San Francisco. Maybe the most successful mid tour addition in the History of Modern Music.
Something I love about the song, besides the obvious, is the simple and innocence to the choreography. It's really basic, but it still moves you. You don't need some overly complicated dance routine to move people.
The core of his band is David Rhodes on guitar, Tony Levin on bass and Manu Katche from France on drums. They are still with him, made the album released this year and currently on tour. For my money there may be no better active rhythm section in the world than Levin and Katche. Both just masters of their instruments.
Thanks for the mention. Love your reactions. The whole Gabrial library is fantastic. From the same concert you'll like COME TALK TO ME AND SECRET WORLD. ❤
A good example for blue in Germany is the blue monday, you had a nice weekend but no fun at work on monday while thinking about better times. Thx fro watching this great piece of music.
This is the most beautiful performance that I have ever seen on the screen. I saw Yul Brynner live performing the King and I and I never felt the impact that Peter Gabriel delivered in this masterpiece.
I'm not the first to write this, and I certainly won't be the last: you should watch this whole concert. And by the way, you can listen to this song again..
Peter took a great studio recording and made a live gem out of it. Love the studio/video but this specific live performances is fantastic beyond words. Was already a big fan of Peter when he was with Genesis. But he was wise to leave Genesis for his solo career. What a live production of In Your Eyes. Peter Gabriel is a awesome musician.
My favorite concert, the whole thing is absolutely amazing and Paula Cole the lady really did an amazing job.
It’s my Peter Gabriel Concert either ❤
Paula's contribution to "Don't Give Up" from that concert is stunning.
Oh and just the whole band...the rhythm section alone is legendary, Tony Levin + Manu Katché = "Gold Jerry, gold!" 🤘
En este concierto están las versiones que más me gustan de sus canciones, extraordinario concierto.
They were awesome live!!!
You are both amazing Mr and Mrs MerchantOfAlba! :) Keep doing what you are doing xxxxxxxxxx Love it x
The female singer, Paula Cole, was called in last minute after Sinead O'Conner dropped out. She had one rehearsal before this gig. The whole set is worth a watch.
We saw Paula with Sinead !
I can describe this performance with just one word: JOY OF LIFE 🤩
· 3 WORDS

this is my favorite song....ever written .....it reminds me...to Love...and to be Kind....and to REMEMBER and HONOR those I've lost
everyone is awesome! Paula Cole absolutely shines!
You guys are so cool---keep listening, PEACE

As I suspect , many will mention, give Paula Cole a listen, I want to say Cowboy was nominated for several Grammys
Greetings!

I was so lucky to see Peter Gabriel 3 times in different cities. Amazing shows.
Really enjoyed your reaction to this classic performance!!!! If you want to react to another Peter Gabriel that is equally amazing, I HIGHLY recommend "Don't Give Up" from this same Secret World tour!! Absolutely beautiful performance by Paula Cole on that song!!!!
One of the most joyful and beautiful songs ever written.
Seen it maybe 50 times. Still saying WOW!
Simply one of the finest live performances ever captured
Peter is a pioneer in world music, always with very talented people around him.
I saw him on the "So" tour, a different type of show, but with the joy and the talent.

One of my favorite videos! Paula Coles voice is amazing as is Gabriel’s!❤

Excellent choice and love this performance of it. Peter Gabriel is a creative force and I look forward to seeing his concert this fall.
Oh yeah, saw Him 93 in Zürich! Very good! 🌈😎
Peter Gabriel is a genius. He is what I always envisioned Pink Floyd's Syd Barret becoming as he got older if had he not had his mental health issues. We'll never know that sadly. But Peter is amazing.
Beautiful you don’t see concerts like this anymore….❤️✌🏼🇺🇸🇺🇦
Outstanding commentary, unique and interesting...I will definitely look at your other reactions. 😊
What a fantastic song, beloved by so many from every corner of the world.
This was my first wife's and my song. We danced to it at our wedding, first dance as a married couple.
Such a good love song
The woman singing is American Paula Cole, she also had a big hit around 1998 “where have all the cowboys gone” , fantastic song too.
I love his voice its one of my favorites As a teen in the 70s i was not into old Genesis with Peter I love them now Try Suppers Ready by them it went into my top 10 the first time i heard it

Clear is my favorite color!
Peter Gabriels Concerts allways like big Parties. Love it. ❤
Great reaction guys,... hope you are both doing well. Music doesn't get any better than that full stop.
An absolute treat for the senses✌️
This was from his 'S'ecret Garden' concert. ''shaking The Tree' was also from the same live show.
Secret world tour...
secret garden is so small !! ;-)
I was blessed to have seen this tour back in 93. One of my all time favourite performances!
Peter Gabriel's voice is one of a kind.
Thank you for presenting the love for music thru the KING of music Peter Gabriel.❤❤ I saw him in Stockholm for a few months ago. Still amazing.
I love you guys! Peter Gabriel has been my favorite artist for over 40 years. I'm so glad you're reacting to him and the great talent around him !!!
Next to Pink Floyd’s 1994 Pulse Concert, this is an all time favourite live concert. You should do every song from the concert, they are all amazing. Great job, as usual ❤️🇨🇦👍

Peter Gabriel is so cool. Another great live song to check out is Sky Blue live from the Growing Up Tour it is so good
Another brilliant choise!!!
I love this song.😊
Fantastic ! I Knew You Would Love It. 🙂
A summer of love with Linzie this was our tune . I was 20 and she was beautiful 😍
Love your joy and enthusiasm when you react to such great tunes, your both a joy to watch...much love from CANADA....
This is MAGICAL
The smiles on your faces when the song started was AWESOME! Thank you for your reaction.

I was only thinking the other day you should do this piece of pure musical joy .
Great art makes you feel things.
Nice reaction 👌
Try "Red Rain" on the Live Growing Up DVD,
"I come to you, defences down, with the trust of a child" what an epic line ??
This is an amazing version, but listen to the version from the 2003 Growing Up Live tour. The backing vocalist there is a young lady from Uzbekistan named Sevara Nazarkhan and she is amazing in her own right.
This song is a masterpiece. It gives you a very spiritual and powerful energy. The lyrics are deep though.
Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
One of the best. You guys are so genuine.
I agree... pure joy! I was hoping you'd do this one. Totally enjoyed your reaction.
Pure Joy. That is a powerful description of emotion when hearing and seeing this performance.
Sinéad O'Connor was the singer she replaced, she had left abruptly after having a romantic falling out with PG, or so the story goes.
A song written about Nelson Mandella
Shaking The Tree (African move+ mood), Blood Of Eden (deep), Digging The Dirt (dark, exciting), Secret World (main topic), Don't Give Up (so touching, togetherness; original with Kate Bush, but Paul Yates does it brilliantly in her own way) are just another highlight.

Feeling Blue comes from having the Blues as in Blues music
Thank you for your wonderful genuine reaction and please react to Genesis “The Knife” this is also sung by Peter Gabriel. Keep enjoying what you do and yourselves great reaction.
This is like a religious experience
Great Great reaction ❤ thank you guys
If this doesn't make you a fan of Peter Gabriel, nothing will
You two make me smile just as this song does . Love your reaction to one of my favourite songs 😊
Paula Cole 4 or 5 days before this performance was sitting on her couch in San Francisco. Maybe the most successful mid tour addition in the History of Modern Music.
Without a doubt!
Great reaction ❤😊
It's all great but I do love the Papa Wemba part. He's the older fella with the red cap singing in his native Congolese, waving his hand.
Something I love about the song, besides the obvious, is the simple and innocence to the choreography. It's really basic, but it still moves you. You don't need some overly complicated dance routine to move people.
That gesture of throwing up your arms in unison is surprisingly uplifting, I agree.
Great reaction! Being transparent means that you have nothing to hide. Try the song "Red Rain".
Just beautiful song and band
Green with envy.
You two are my favourite reactors - such a lovely couple. "Shaking The Tree" from the same Secret World concert is also great.
Wonderful tune!
The core of his band is David Rhodes on guitar, Tony Levin on bass and Manu Katche from France on drums. They are still with him, made the album released this year and currently on tour. This always make me cry.
Hello you two beautiful people
Only joyful people appreciate joyful music.
That's you two!
I think this is his best song. I think his 2nd best is "Solsbury Hill".
This performance is perfect for you two. It just exudes love and peace
This is from the "Secret World Live" show. I have the show on DVD It's wonderful. All talented musicians and singers and visually great to watch.
I have my lighter up. 😊
All the peoples of the world in harmony. As you say, pure joy. It never fails to raise the spirit. Thank you both ❤
I'm not the first to write this, and I certainly won't be the last: you should watch this whole concert. And by the way, you can listen to this song again..
The female is Paula Cole - this is just before her career as a solo act took off
Just love
The one and only Paula Cole❤ omyGod what a voice she has❤
Seeing this reaction to such an amazing song & performance, you have a new subscriber. Great reaction, thank you
Great reaction, to the point exactly !
Music is International. I'm so glad you liked that. I watch and listen to that when I need some cheering up.
