Well,I'd agree starting with the "So" album. The first 4 solo offerings not so much. His 2nd,3rd and 4th solo albums are probably my favorites of his,FWIW. But love all the others as well. The 2nd one, often referred to as the "Scratches" album is one of the most overlooked/underrated albums ever,IMO. White Shadow,On The Air,Exposure from that album are very high on my list of favorite Gabriel tunes.
I hadn’t seen this performance since the concert. Gods light was shooting through all 15,000 that night. It was the most spiritual experience of my life. Everyone in every nation needs to watch this and love one another.
That would be Solsbury Hill but absolutely right. He needs to see the original 1978 version (just Peter and a dude on acoustic guitar) and the one from this tour. Absolutely dynamite. 👍❤️
In 1987, Peter Gabriel’s album “SO” took me through a hospital stay. My brother brought me a Sony Walkman and the “SO” cassette. I must have listened to that tape 20 times during my stay, I loved it so much! His duo with Kate Bush, “Don’t Give Up” meant so much to me with what I going through. Thanks!!
This was my favorite song ever recorded before I heard Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah." This is such a poetic, searing, spiritual piece of music. And Peter Gabriel's delivery both in this version and the studio version are so heartfelt. If you haven't done so already, you would enjoy reacting to Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up."
This song, this version and live performance almost takes on a spiritual transcendence, it is spectacular. The original version on the album "SO" is fantastic but this is what seeing a live performance is all about
The chick doing background vocals is Paula Cole. She had the hits "Where Have All The Cowboy's Gone" and "I Don't Wanna Wait" which is also this theme song to "Dawson's Creek"
Paula Cole is an absolute treasure of a human being. I think she was only 17 when they did this tour. The albums she later released were fire. I had the privilege of seeing her live twice, and both times my jaw was on the floor. Truly a gem. Peter was instrumental in her discovery, as he was for many artists around the world.

Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, and Sting all helped to introduce us to the beauty and talent of World Music, performing with big starts from Africa that we had never heard of before and opening our eyes to new rhythms, chord progressions, and languages

Yes! I'm so glad you listened to this one! Please do Blood of Eden or Come Talk To Me from this same live concert (Secret World). The vocals are unbelievable!
This is my favorite song from my all-time favorite concert. I know this comment is very late to the party and you might not see it, but I hope you had the opportunity to watch the whole concert at some point. In Your Eyes was the encore song after everyone had left the stage, which was engineered so that the performers could travel from one section to another via an underground tunnel. How they left the stage was a performance in itself, then the dome came down and when it lifted again as you see at the beginning of this video, they "magically appeared with instruments, keyboard, drum set-up and all, at the front, circular part of the stage. Paula Cole, the young woman singing, joined the concert a week before it was filmed in Italy after Sinead O'Connor left suddenly. She is such a joy to watch as she sings, dances and interacts with Peter and the other musicians. The whole concert is a joy!
I was at this concert in Seattle. Took our middle-school daughter. We all LOVED it! Thanks for the lovely memories. Paula Cole has such a beautiful voice!

Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon went to Africa and discovered Music is Communal and Ritual/Spiritual!
Gabriel ages before SImon
Paul Simon just went there to rob.
Peter Gabriel's solo career is what happens when a bunch of progrock musicians decide to make pop. love it.
Everyone living in 2020 needs to watch this right now, every day.
Too busy building a time machine to get the f**k out of 2020. When I finish it, I will comply. ;)
I hadn’t seen this performance since the concert. Gods light was shooting through all 15,000 that night. It was the most spiritual experience of my life. Everyone in every nation needs to watch this and love one another.
Happy 2021!
One of my favorite videos of all time. It doesn't get any better. Peter Gabriel is the best.
Best version too. This is the one. Goosebumps every damned time.
Peter Gabriel,,,song titled Salisbury Hill
Solsbury Hill
Yes... all of the yes!!!
Oh yes!!!!!
One of my favorite songs ever, but the all the videos seem to be trippy messes ...
His duo with Kate Bush, “Don’t Give Up”
meant so much to me with what I going through.
The original version on the album "SO" is fantastic but this is what seeing a live performance is all about
This has got to be one of my most favorite songs of all times, so moving, emotional and absolutely beautiful.
This is a great version -- Peter Gabriel is such an imaginative showman.
The whole world should be made to sit and watch this.
Great reaction to wake up to on a Sunday morning. One of the best live performances around. 😎
Humanity, Love, Peace, Togetherness. Missing my live music. Superb performance.
He has one of the best voices of all time!!
OMG I love this song. Peter Gabriel is a legend! Paula Cole is incredible!
The chick doing background vocals is Paula Cole. She had the hits "Where Have All The Cowboy's Gone" and "I Don't Wanna Wait" which is also this theme song to "Dawson's Creek"
This is blowing my mind
And lungs to her toenails!
I absolutely adore her take on "Don't Give Up" from this show.
@@nathanfreeman681 This is from Peter Gabriel's 1993 Secret World tour. Paula Cole was born in 1968 so she is either 24 or 25 here.
This touched my heart, it made me cry. Thank you Jamel.
I tell everyone , get the DVD . Secret World Live , if you've never seen it. Sit and watch it, when you're done you will be in awe of what you've just seen . I was never a huge fan of Peter Gabriel , and I stumbled across secret world and watched it. I was blown away , it was like a religious experience just to watch. I couldn't imagine being at that SHOW.

You have to be dead inside not to feel when hearing this. What a great decade for music.... we were so fortunate.
Everything about this was absolutely amazing. ‘Nuff said.
Look at the smile on your face...this performance does this to me too, every time I see it...its a mystical experience...just love the whole vibe.
I find i really miss your appreciation for the music & your gentle soul when I don't watch for awhile. I LOVE this live version of In Your Eyes To this day, it is still my favorite song by Peter Gabriel. Stay safe Jamel.
Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, and Sting all helped to introduce us to the beauty and talent of World Music, performing with big starts from Africa that we had never heard of before and opening our eyes to new rhythms, chord progressions, and languages
This video proves how beautiful a truly inclusive world would be.
Ya well let 20 illegals move into your house
Yes ❤
No lip sync with all the dance moves.... Talent
You are a good soul, my brother. You inspire me.
I never get tired of saying this: the experience was enhanced watching with you.
You need to watch that whole concert , incredible show
“Games Without Frontiers”
Great one
The cult classic that went on to have a second run of popularity almost a decade after it's release. Always one of my faves.
Oh Yes!
Great one! Features an uncredited Kate Bush in the chorus vocals.
That's my favorite with Sledgehammer following.
That whole concert from start to finish is just amazing. The opening "Come Talk to Me" is stunning. If you want something really spiritual check out 'Sky Blue' from the Up Live tour. That is simply beautiful and was amazing when I saw it live.
By far the best live album I've ever heard. I can't imagine having been there!
One of the top 100 songs ever written imo
This has been said before, but one of the best songs ever recorded....and even the album version doesn't hit as hard emotionally as this concert version!!! Perfection!
You see such a genuine joy out of this entire group performing this great song! A wonderful performance!
He has so many greats. "Blood of Eden" always gets me.
I always get the chills (the good kind) at 2:14 when Paula's angelic vocals begin.
The entire concert is awesome. Every band should try to rise to the performance level of this.
PG has put on the best live shows over his whole career. I adore his music and performances. Great pick!
I wish everyone would watch this video. It's very moving and shows the togetherness humanity needs to get and have now!👍♥️
One of my favorite songs. Peter Gabriel makes a point of having musicians from all over the globe in his shows. You should also check out Solsbury Hill. Thanks for reacting to this one.
How can you NOT smile watching this...how can you not dance!
Such beauty is almost unbeleivable. Peter is a strange wonder. God bless him.
Jamal, even a good song like this makes me smile just watching YOUR reaction. Thank you, my friend. We can all use a smile right now, and you provide that on a constant basis.
Stay safe, be well!
Watch Shaking the Tree from the same concert
The whole concert is amazing.
It was the best concert i ever attended. Led zep too.
Jamel, this whole concert is magic! One of those rare live concerts where just about every song was equal or better than the original version.
Peter Gabriel is a very unique talented artist,he's in a league all of his own....And his video's ..well if you seen them ..then you know, they will take your eyeballs on a journey.
"Shaking the Tree" from this performance is AMAZING.
This concert tour was the best I ever saw. I recommend that you treat this like Daryl's House and react to every track. Its immense.
Sometimes when you despair of the world you need such a gem.
Among the most beautiful, yearning, haunting love song, ever. Thank you Jamel and Peter Gabriel~
I sit here crying it’s so beautiful!! Just what I needed.
I just have to say, I love Peter Gabriel, and I love that he was brought into the world in my time.
And having met Peter, I can say he is a beautiful human being. Just a really humble, and nice person.
"That lady" in this case is Paula Cole, btw, my friend.
"Shock the Monkey!!" Please!!!! or when he was the lead singer of Genesis!!!!
Ooh! That’s a good one, right? Love it...
Dancing with the Moonlit Knight
He did react to Genesis "Firth of Fifth".
@@nightHawk66 I will have to look more carefully for that because I go through all of his videos and I never saw that one listed. Thanks!
The album version of the song is good, but this live version just elevates it to a whole different level.
By far my favorite version. Just moves everything in me.
Athens 87 is also excellent.
One of my top 3 albums of all time -- Peter Gabriel's "So." "Mercy Street" is my fave song on it.
Love Mercy Street. Hauntingly beautiful.
I got chills just reading your comment. Mercy Street is gorgeous.
My favorite song. I’ve never seen this performance. Wow! What a heart-stirring celebration of love and life. So beautiful. From the bottom of my heart, brother, thanks for sharing. 👍
You know how life happens and you forget about a song you loved? This brought tears, I forgot how beautiful it was.
One of the most beautiful songs ever created.
