Today, we show you how to make the ultimate doenjang jjigae! It's called Chadol Doenjang Jjigae (차돌박이 된장찌개). Chadolbaegi is thinly sliced beef brisket - it's the one you order at Korean BBQ restaurants. We'll add in a few strips, along with a few key ingredients to transform a traditional soybean stew into a rich, umami-packed doenjang jjigae - similar to the ones you get at Korean BBQ restaurants! My ex boyfriend’s mom thought we were going to get married and I did too, but her son decided to cheat on me, so no thank you. Anyways, she taught me how to make this properly because it’s my ex’s favorite. Pretty much the same thing but instead of salt, use that fermented shrimp or saewoojeot to make it more umami. And the water you boil it with is the starch water from the rice you just rinsed. So, when you rinse the rice, save that water in a bowl and use that. It gives you a thicker consistency instead of a watery consistency. Trust me, it was amazing.

Just posting to say this is the best recipe for doenjangjigae my wife and I use. Weve been substituting a few things here and there, but beef over pork anyday because less oil

I just tried this for dinner tonight, it was da bomb! Your recipe was great, it's a bit too salty for me so I used more potatoes, more veggies, more tofu and added more water. And voila, its perfect. My family said it's a repeat, so I'll be making this again and again.
