    One of my absolute FAVORITE Korean dishes 🥹🥹 I don't eat pork so I normally go for seafood and mushroom tofu stew, but this is my best friend's favourite so maybe I'll make this for her birthday coming up!

    Sundubu Jjigae is my favourite dish. I followed your other sundubu recipes and they are always my go to meal. It’s so delicious and comforting on a cold day.
    I can’t eat pork belly so I will use pork mince. I can’t wait to make this again with kimchi

    I made this yesterday and it is SO GOOD!!!!
    Could not get my hands on soft tofu, so I made it with regular tofu and it is delicious!
    I will definitely make this again because its ridiculously easy and also budget friendly.
    Also, tastes even better the next day 😁

    I've made this stew quite a few times now using homemade kimchi, and I'm honestly surprised every single time at how utterly delicious and flavoursome this is considering how quick it comes together. Just so, so delicious 😋. Thanks for the great video guys.

    Ok I’m a complete beginner and soooo clueless in the kitchen but I just followed step by step and it came out perfect 🥹 thank youuu
    Also it gave me so much more appreciation for Korean restaurants who make this for customers because it was sooo many different things to remember and I needed to rewatch the video so many times, so many dishes too!! 😭😭 def the worst part of eating this is the dishes…
    Also I cannot handle super spicy and the measurements provided makes this a perfect Mild spicy soup! And it serves about 3 bowls as well :) so having this tonight and the next two days :)

    Amazing! My family loved this! I only used a third of pepper flakes which was spicy enough, and my eggs sank, but very easy and the "wow" response rivaled Claire's. Definitely will make again. Thank you!

    Sundubu jjigae is my favourite winter Korean dish..wobbly silken tofu is yum. Best part is breaking the just set egg yolk and mixing the golden gooey goodness into my steamed rice.😊

    Sundubu jigae is one of my favorite dishes. I first had it at a mom and pop kbbq. Then the next time I had it was at a American chain restaurant and boy, was that a disappointment! I started questioning if I actually liked the dish or if I was just misremembering?I learned to make it myself and my love came back!❤
    I even got a ttukbaegi just for soups

    I made this and the wife loved it. It was also as easy at it looks in the video. Things I learned: need to let the egg cook a bit on the stove since the soup isn't hot enough to cook it, thin sliced jalapenos worked well as garnish too, adding mushrooms and seafood makes this more delicious, and when saving the rice water, dump the first round of water or your wife will hit you.

    This recipe looks delicious! Would Chinese cooking wine be an acceptable substitute for soju or sake? Is this a situation where "whatever you have in your kitchen; that's the best" would come into play?
    My son gave me your cook book for Christmas. We all love your recipes!

      The fragrance of Shaoxing wine can be too strong, so I think water works better in this dish!

    For those who prefer fish sauce that does NOT taste like low tide + Limburger cheese (e.g. Viet Huong, Squid, Three Crab), please try Red Boat brand. While a bit more expensive, it is worth it!

      You can use it to rinse your hair after washing! It helps strengthen hair, promotes shine and aids in faster growth. Don't use the first two rinses (keep those for your plants) but the 3rd wash is what you use for your hair! I know some people who even use it as a facial spritz/toner 🥰

    Omgoodness looks soooooo gooooood! Now, I miss my mom she is Korean and cooks like that for me when I visit her. Noo matter how hard I try I can’t make it like mom does 😢. So…looks like it’s time to visit mom in California!!!

    Damn this looks so good... And I mean... I why do I see this at 8:40pm when the stores are closed and I can't get the ingredients?!
    Aaron, please do us a favour and give us a Kimchi recipe we can do from home Outside of East Asia. I'll be happy to confirm which ingredients we can get in Europe if you have any question. But I'd say cabbage carrot & chili power, that's all ok, but that big raddish you guys have in Asia... it's tough to find it here.

    This looks great! I havent used soft Tofu but I am going to try it out. Being new to Korean cooking, what do you mean by aged kimchi? I have read online that it generally means Kimchi that has been sitting around for a few weeks but what does that mean? Does that mean an open container of kimchi or an unopened container if it is store bought?

      You can simply substitute with mushrooms. Like shiitake or oyster mushrooms will be a good substitute! 😁🙌

    Excellent. Those wee pots you bring to the table, remove the lid and the stew is still bubbling inside....impresses any guests 😉 but remember to let it cool down as it's still HOT 🤣

    I might try this cuz I have some kimchi I made a few months ago, also I thought ur green onion was a leek by the look of it when u started to chop it, once I went back to clear my eyes I saw it was indeed green onion 😂
