You didn't find the butcher because in this playthrough you didn't get the quest. You know that you get it when you find the dying person in front of the monastery's entrance!

All these D1 mods are cool for people who enjoy mods. I feel like all those classes and subclasses are way too much, and take away from the original game's simplicity. I would absolutely love to see Blizzard make a Diablo 1: Resurrected. I've always liked the idea of mods, but I've never gotten into them because they're not the "official" release. I'm weird like that.
I really hope it's possible to disable all those onscreen texts with xp and dmg, that's absolutely horrible, was so nice in Diablo 1 and 2 that those wasn't a thing
For the uninitiated, there is music from the old game AND THE NEWER GAMES! There are also monsters from the newer games as well. Freaked when I faced off with some D2 mummies.
Yes if you get Diablo 1 from GOG it works with THE HELL & other mods! That's how I've been using these mods since D-1 was released on GOG. I still have a physical copy of D-1 but it's an old macintosh copy.
there is a modern diablo 1 engine rewritten from scratch called devilutionX and if you look it up, someone actually ported it to web browser using webassembly, although that port wasn't updated for years. I kinda wish this mod were ported to the new engine cause currently it seems to be using some weird hacky solution to achieve higher screen resolution and I'm having broken graphics when trying to run in on linux. DevilutionX actually has a bunch of quality of life improvements just by itself but it's not changing anything major like this mod
I played TH2 for a long time, but latest one is just crazy good. Previous versions were for hardcore grinders only. TH3 is fore fun. New missions, fixed system, more levels etc
Did they fixed drops in TH3? I played TH2 for quite some time and it never dropped me anything useful. Plenty of other people complaining at same thing.
@SkilledApe I have to say its better. When you run 8 levels, for example caves and hell, minimum one unique item drops, without any unique find equipment (in th2 there was no difference as well if you wear them or not) I play now Elementalist and boy, what fun it is with chain lightning spell ;)
love that mod but its so hard on hardest difficulty iron man never finished it. btw I highly recommend changing the INI files there are tons of options like making ALL QUESTS pop up on every run as example. But Butcher will test your build pretty hard early on I wish there would be a shared storage to play some HC SSF type of runs and make use of found items on new characters after old ones permanently died :O
is there an option to enable all quests and not have the randomness factor in? for example the butcher should spawn as soon as you walk to the cathedral but in yours it spawned afterwards. is there an option to just not have the quest randomization enabled?
If you haven't, try the PlayStation version of this game. You can save character, which will load a new game, OR save gave (takes a whole memory card) which will keep the levels as they are when you reload. I cannot remember how that works on PC. In addition the psx version has a couple hours of extra lore in the form of audiobooks not available in other versions of the game. Very cool stuff!
@@sixmillionaccountssilenced6721 CE is debatable. It's a great skill but requires bodies first which was hard to make in Diablo 2 classic. Also, you can't CE a boss. It's a situational skill.

That constant slowing down is annoying as fuck. Just make the movement speed constant. Slow at first with an ability to increase it through boots and maybe even by leveling up your dex.
Looks interesting, but I didn't finish the video, do yourself a favor and write a script, because you seem to have a problem with talking in circles and repeating the same thing over and over, and honestly it is kind of annoying, due to this, pretty much the only thing I took away from this video is you think the game is hard and diablo 1 was unforgiving, your words, not mine, you stated diablo 1 is unforgiving, as well as stating the mod was hard, while the mod may of increased the difficulty, those of us that grew up in the 80s and 90s, don't think diablo was hard, in fact, games have gotten so much easier over the years that newer games practically hold your hands through your gameplay.

At the other side of the map is the Queen's mound, Whorlpool lake, and the farm. There is also a cow level.
It sounds like they added music from Dungeon Keeper 1 in this mod.

diablo II ofc was great, but the atmosphere in diablo 1 was better. this game still has a lot of potential. rest is when it all went downhill fast

If you haven't, try the PlayStation version of this game. You can save character, which will load a new game, OR save gave (takes a whole memory card) which will keep the levels as they are when you reload. I cannot remember how that works on PC. How do I insert gems into socketed items? Cant do it with Griswold, when i try in my inventory the gem swaps spots with the item
