Very nice video. In life there are 2 main problems--mind and the body. For problem of overthinking be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing yourself with others, reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your natural incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 10-15 minutes or more. You can sit or lay down with eyes closed--No deep breathing. Don’t fight your thoughts. Never meditate with expectations. Make it a lifetime habit to observe your breath day and night before sleep, at work, when travelling, walking in the park, etc with eyes open or closed. Best wishes--Counsellor.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14: 1-4

Sometimes doing an anxiety ladder exercise helps, in other words take the tiniest baby steps, like for a fear of driving, you'd list 10-20 incremental steps starting with the lowest fear producing task, such as looking at photos of a car or road, then progressively scarier until you have reached the top of the "ladder" and overcome the fear

I wanted to get a tattoo, but had a fear of needles and anything that resembled medical situations that stemmed from childhood medical trauma. I did not go to a mental health expert, but was able to gradually work through this fear by watching videos about tattooing and people having positive experiences being tattoed. I also watched several videos about people from Native cultures being given traditional hand poked tattoos and feeling deep gratitude for the opportunity to revive their tribal markings. By the time I felt I was ready to make my appointment, I had changed my mindset from worrying if I had the courage to walk into a tattoo business and allow someone tattoo me to feeling calm and ready to recieve the ink. When I arrived for my appointment, I felt much calmer than I expected and my tattoo session went well, with only a minimum amount of discomfort.

Unfortunately most psychology ignores large order causality, hence why we see virtually no improvement in overall mental health. In fact mental health is getting worse. A sociological perspective needs to be added and the biopsychosocial model needs to account for system induced dysfunctional behavior.
Neglected to add the model should add environmental factors into it (physical world), but that's getting too deep for a UA-cam comment.

That's right, we need to look at the cultural institutions and systemic trauma that creates suffering for individuals.

  • @Martinbeef
    @Martinbeef 8 місяців тому

It’s clear that trauma can cause fear to be embedded. Also, a long relationship with someone you trust to love you and so you accept their advice and guidance. Their feedback when you ask their opinion may be completely unhelpful. They may say ‘I know you better than you know yourself’. That’s not true; only you know what you need. So this method of naming someone is a great idea. Rather than spending years and a great deal of money in analysis of some kind, if the problem isn’t too large but simply annoying, using mindfulness daily and separately imagining the person in a chair opposite you, and exactly what you might say. You might close your eyes to do this, or you might write them a letter that you would never send. These techniques can be helpful.

Fear is a normal part of the human experience. It’s annoying but it is what it is.
I think what happens is it becomes a subconscious habit, avoiding things because of fear.
So how do you deal with that?
You have to start doing things that make you uncomfortable, again and again and again, until that becomes a subconscious habit.
It doesn’t take much to establish bad habits, but it takes a monumental effort to remove those once they have taken root.
Your subconscious controls your existence, even if you disagree with it. You, I, have to learn how to, find ways to program our subconscious, sort of tune it to what we want to be.
Just my opinion, but I think the only way to achieve that is through constant repetition and awareness.
Why is it so easy to screw everything up and so difficult to do one thing right?
    I don’t know.

A past life could be the causative factor. Find a good hypnotherapist in your area to take you back to why you developed that fear. When you’re done with the past life regression, most of the time the fear goes away. 👍🏼

I disagree. Ultimately if you don’t uproot the cause you will be alright and can be triggered over and over again in your life at the worst times. So disruptive. Go for the root. Your energy is great but avoiding pain causes problems in the future along with failure and shame.

I understand you. But if it works for her after all the the other treatments it works. By giving it a name she disidentifies herself from the fear, because the fear is an seperate ‘entity’ and I think over time it can diminish, just by constantly dissidentifying from it.
