Another excellent video! Have you considered painting any of the Marvel Crisis Protocol minis? I'm not the biggest comic fan but the game and sculpts are a lot of fun, especially the newer ones.
@MarkoFrisoniNJM, What PSI do you use for your airbrush for those super close shots? I watched your old airbrush vid, but I want to make sure im looking at everything the right way. Thank
"Hello guys and welcome to Nachos Maker" everytime it's all I hear. Keep up the good videos I am literally using many of you techniques on my latest project, getting better and better
9:22 really like it when you show the back of the tubes, so we can pause the video to see which pigments the paints contain and other interesting info.
Another video that just blows me away with how a cool a model can look. As always it’s opened my eyes to just how using oils can take a model to the next level.
Amazing Marco, you are a master! I don't think I will ever reach this level of quality but watching your videos has taught me a lot and I am improving. I've just started using oils for the first time after many years as an 'acrylic only' painter and I've been experiencing good results! Thank you for your inspiration!
Amazing as always. I always found "clean" exponentially harder because you can't get away with any technical imperfections, as opposed to grimdark and gritty styles where they can pass as artistic choices.
im so glad i found this chanel! as a filmmaker I appreciate your use of zenithal and make the light more volumetric rather than generic like most mini painting channels. I can't wait to start using oils in my workflow for painting my prints :)
My dabbling with oil paints is becoming more and more confident every time I watch your videos, Marco! Next chance I get, I may well do full on oils over acrylic base coats to see where that takes me. Thank you for the inspiration, sir!
Between your videos and James Wappel I have taken the dive into oils. Lots of fun and I find it needs a completely different mindset to what I was used when using Acrylics.
Had to wait to see this one as we're working on the new house with no internet. will have a large studio space tho! And found a full, barely touched boxed presentation set of Van Dyke oils in a cupboard, big tubes, including all the cadmiums I choke to pay out for! Very, very happy!
Marco, you are a painting god. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and not embracing the making of clickbait videos and stupid challenges like other more populistic channels do. You taught me pretty much a new way to look at and paint my models with your videos over the years. Keep up the great work.
Simply beautiful! I thought you were done then you broke out the oils and blew my mind...again. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, much appreciated!
The best part about gaining speed is, it's automatic the more you practice the other stuff. Everything you do contributes to making you faster at what you're doing. It's a beautiful mechanic! It's one of my prime motivators for "Operation Paint Erryday"
@@SOTMead Totally. I find that I paint armies as projects and obviously its longer than painting one model to a high standard. I also do terrain commissions very occasionally and I love them as they're big models but let me experiment and push my painting skills or try new techniques and since its for someone else I want it to be as good as I can do. I do want to paint every day although health issues sometimes interrupt that. I hit a plateau a few years ago and I did a day-class with an AMAZING painter friend which really helped me up my skills too.
I feel you man! I always tend to paint more dark and gritty,... even if I try painting vibrant in the end its darker as I actually wanted it to be :/ Great Video! Please more of this!
Golden high flow paints are so good. They sell them at a Michaels near me (Hobby craft store). My wife goes there and every time I go with her I get a paint or two. I painted my tyranid army with them.
Great work! I love the color choices and textures - well executed. Informative video as always. You deserve sponsorship from Williamsburg and Gamblin for the business you've driven to them from me alone - cheers Marco and everyone else!
You really achieved to mush your very own style further and further, Mr. Marco. It very remind me of the Confrontation style. It's a pleasure to discover another miniature, especially such original and stunning one (GW models are fine, but tend to stay quite "classic" ones). Thanks for sharing such results for a beautiful piece like this.
Beautiful work, par usual, Marco. I'm now sitting here, watching your video, and waiting for this weekend to dig into a new project using the paints I picked up last weekend... I might snag a couple of other colors (I couldn't find the Payne's Gray violet that I was looking for, originally, in lieu of ivory black, for the limited pallette I wanted...), but it's feeling like the run up to Christmas morning, already. Thank you for the excellent lessons, so far, and I hope that going with Zinc White, over the far more familiar Titanium white that I've played with so much in acrylic, wasn't a mistake...
Holy cows Marco! This paint job is incredible! The vibrancy is a nice change and incredibly pleasant to look at. This might be the best video you released so far! I'm really curious to see you do a very large model, taking all the time in the world and striving for the best result using this methods.
I love the mini, I love the paintjob, I love how you explain things :-). Thanks a lot. I hope you add more minis from this brand to your mix, they are great example for learning more about "non grimdark" ways. Although I wonder how this miniature would look like in a grimdark style too XD
@MarkoFrisoniNJM, What PSI do you use for your airbrush for those super close shots? I watched your old airbrush vid, but I want to make sure im looking at everything the right way. Thank
What kind of brush do you use for the highest detail work in oils? Is that a synthetic brush? Or do you use natural hair brushes for the sharpest details?
Hey Marco! As usual, perfect work on your channel! Love it ❤ A little comment if I may: I'm not an English native speaker and I understand you now less than I used to, like 3 or 4 years ago...it's like Italian accentuation was back in the game! 😅 Or maybe you just speak faster... Anyway, keep up the good work in teaching us, the humble painting plebs! 😊
Thanks man! It depends on how much I want the wash to stain and impact on the previous layer but most of the time I clean it immediately after the application
Stunning as usual, can't get enough of all the new artistic technique and new things im experiencing since i follow your vids :) Quick, rebarbativ, question : what king of brush did you use for your oil paint stage?^^
Finally my family situation allowed me to catch up with your videos! Excellent tutorial once more! But holy cow… are you using a redgrass games brush for oils?! How do you keep it from getting wrecked?
Hi man, welcome back, hope everything is fine! Hahaha yeah I needed a good tip in a couple of steps; oil paint by itself is not really aggressive on natural bristles and many oil painters prefer natural brushes but the solvent can be a problem if you don't take care of the brush after the work. With a good clean with a proper brush soap you can safely use high quality brushes for oils!
Hello Marco, your work is fantastic and I've wanted to start using some of your workflow, I know you mention even in this video you can achieve the same effects with various tools. But I was curious do you believe inks can totally replace contrast for work flows such as yours? I'm expanding my ink collection and was curious if you find any benefit between the contrast vs inks in the same application. Thank you in advance. Keep up your amazing work
I finally knew why Marco wear always a bonnet on his head...it's to hide his Faërie pointed ears ,such painting talent are only come from magic Elf creature !!
Brilliant video, just what I needed. Final hightlighting is my weakness. Curious if you diluted the yellow orange ako at all when making the sunlight filter or if was straight ink from the bottle?
Hi @MarcoFrisoniNJM, superb video and paintjob as always! so inspiring! How long does it take for the oil paints to dry when applied in such minute amounts?
I can't thank you enough for turning me on to oil paints, blending is a dream, but one question, how do you varnish for protection from chipping/handling on figures that are going to be used on a tabletop?
Hi Marco, how do you clean your pair of brushes (the dry and the 'wet') between switching colour when you use them with oil paints? Another question: can I use W&N liquin fine detail and W&N sansodor as medium and solvent, respectively? I want to avoid white spirit. Thank you, guy!!!☺️
Nothing quite like a Marco "Hello, guys!" to make a crappy day a bit better

I was wondering if you would ever do a tutorial on large vehicles for example tanks? And weathering techniques for those?
Hearing "Hello guys!" Makes me feel like a kid on Christmas morning.
Lol it’s like old mate on the crafsman channel, the intro is like hot chocolate for the soul
"Hello guys and welcome to Nachos Maker" everytime it's all I hear.

Damn I can't unhear that now.
@@gwilks7447 honestly would subscribe either way
Nachos maker... inspired
I hear not just meerkats 😂
Yea, I always thought it was Nachos Maker! Only recently discovered it wasn't! Still, I reckon Marco could make a very tasty nacho!
My favorite part of the week: when Marco uploads
Absolutely gorgeous
Learned a ton by just watching what you were explaining - impressively straight to the point, helpful video.
Such elegance and Clarity in your style. So glad I discovered your channel. This style is what I want and like. Truly inspirational as ever.

I really love that blending with a brush that is dry

This made me want an airbrush more than ever..... Very precise skills!
Check my latest video ;) There are easy ways to do the same with the brush!
You're absolutely a Beast. Amazing painting techniques and useful explanations. Thanks a lot Marco.
Superb artistry yet again. I am in awe.

Thanks Marco. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and tutorial style. Cheers 😊
That was so awesome. Thanks Marco. My painting is so much better thanks to you :)
Good tip to mat-varnish the whole model right after the Golden-high-flow step. I was really struggling with how glossy these paints are. Thnx Marco!
Always an inspiration

You really became my favorite channel. And I love your accent!

Im going to try
True mastership poured in an entertaining and informative video at the highest skills of editing a video. Magnicifent!
Marco: 'Quick 2 hour sketch and I'm ready to start'
Me: '7 hours later and I'm 50% of the way to Marco's "starting point"!!!!'

Beautiful work on a beautiful model! I can’t wait to see more work on these Kitsune clan models.
That is fantastic! Your videos are extremely well done.
So freaking pretty! Thanks for sharing : )
i really like this clean style at most
9:56 this segment has a great, concise breakdown of some the different applications between oil priming, oil wash and oil filter
I love Marco's vids because of the narration - it helps to know what the artist is thinking rather than just giving instructions of apply X then Y
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
That thing looks sick as hell
Just wonderful Marco! Thank you for this video.
There is so much to learn from you
Stunning as always
I really like the way you blend the acrylics with the oil paints. Might be a less intimidating way of dipping your toes into using oil for minis.
Golden high flow paints are so good. They sell them at a Michaels near me (Hobby craft store). My wife goes there and every time I go with her I get a paint or two. I painted my tyranid army with them.
Absolutely stunning! I prefer the bright vibrant style to grim dark. Great job as always
Beautiful work! Thank you for all your hard work 🧙♂️🤙
That is awesome work, bravo.

Amazing work mate. I really should try this oil painting not just using it as a wash!
Yes! No more grimdark! No more filth! Crisp clean colour :D
Those colours are so beautiful and vibrant it makes me hungry 🤤
Really flexing the high flow line in the beginning of this video.

Such a beautiful model! I love your grim dark work. But I’m an even bigger fan of this! I didn’t think that was possible lol
So very clean… I really enjoy the story you’re telling. Ooo-de-lalli, golly what a day

I find it interesting he uses drybrushing in a 2brush method basically without just striaght up using drybrushing on a smaller brush
