I'm seriously mind-broken here, i think i need to lie down to recover or something
The correct answer to recover is more infinity models. trust me. i paint like shit but i buy like a god. well like a well off man but you will get me when you fill that gaping "i paint bad" whole with more metal :P
Yes, more Infinity please! Its a quite popular system so Im surprised that there arent many videos about it. And your painting style is just perfect for Infinity :) looking forward to more!
I love your videos, man. Every time I hear "HELLOOOOO" I grin like a maniac and sit down with a beer to enjoy the rest of the video. Keep rocking, Marco. Also, I think you're one of the best color theory guys out there when it comes to minis.
Did you hear that lourd "FINALLY!!!!" coming from the North East of France? That was me! And I can't wait to see the next session with O-12. Thank you for the awesome video Maestro!
I seriously had JUST started looking in to Infinity for a new hobby project last night and the coincidence with this video completely sold me. Fabulous work as always!
Never heard of Infinity before, but man this model looks so cool! I really like the way the turquoise/aqua glowy bits stand out on the arms and legs. Such a cool design and color scheme. Thanks for posting!
Wahoo! Love infinity. Japanese succesionists and qapu khalqi were the teams I practiced my oil washing on, way back when Marco first opened my eyes to the medium!
This is impressive in a way that is difficult to put into words. I decided yesterday to embark upon an O-12 army, still learning Code One but I ordered just about everything that can be used in that mode. I want to take my time and challenge myself with masterclass techniques that I haven't used before - it's one thing to see pictures in a book but I learn so much more by watching great videos like this! Thank you!
Just got back into painting and decided to go to infinity as I love the models. Been trying to paint using only oil paints (directly over grey primer) and some pigment powders to challenge myself. Been loving your channel as a source of inspiration for more artistic approaches to painting miniatures. Very excited to see you also turning your hand to infinity!!
Dear marco, thanks for all the amazing inspiration, yesterday i started my first space marine and it went really well at first... but today when i continued yellow proved to be a challenging color and my first aplication was splochy then i thinned too much the paint and ended glazing like 9 times a shoulderpad so it ended up "acceptable". Even so, i couldn't think of doing anything like this before if not for yours and all the community videos that encourage us new painters. thank you for all the inspiration you give me and i hope i can improve with each model on this journey
Welp, you've done it man. I've bought an airbrush and a set of oil paints and I'm gonna put all the blame on you! But seriously, thanks for the videos and the inspiration and knowledge you so readily give us all. Grande Marco and see you all on the other side!
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM No need for that when you're single and financially independent 😁 Also my mother was a painter herself, so she would have probably enjoyed watching your videos anyways. But please do make that video, it should be hilarious 🤣
Hell yeah! I remember asking you about this awhile back and it sounded like it would never happen...but here we are. :P Looking forward to watching this later!
Excellent work! Those Infinity figure really do require more attention to look good due to all that sharp detail. I'm fascinated that you use a crimson color for the NNM brass base but its works very well, notes taken!
Every video you make I realize more and more I need to be more bold with contrast in my mini's for some reason this is harder then I thought it would be, thank you again for an amazing video :) Time to rewatch the ones on cotrast
Oh yeah contrastS are the absolute key! It's almost impossible to end up with too much contrast but way to easy to not using enough, so be more bold and you can't go wrong!
Great video as always Marco! I love the mix of cold colors, and the use of contrast paints really surprised me, you really make me rethink the application uses of those paints, usually i stay away from those, but you make it look soooo good! Keep it up!
So I've been watching for about a year now, I've seen all kinds of things besides mecha but precious little mecha overall. Since you're doing an infinity series, will we see one of the larger mech models in the range later?
Great video! Awesome paintjob! I really like Infinity models. I still haven't finished my boxed set (Red Veil), there is a really great female Ninja with Bow sculpt included. I want to give them good paintjob since it's skirmish game. I think thanks to your, Vince's, Miniac's, Ninjon's, Sam Lenz, and others videos I am at better level than I was when I started painting them. I need to repaint 1 model I've almost finished... Hopefully my local Infinity gaming group hasn't died due to 'rona.
Ciao Marco, volevo chiederti se potessi fare un video su come dipingere un’armatura nera metallizzata ( mi era piaciuto molto il video sui blood angels dipinti usando il tamiya clear red) Grazie Comunque intendo tipo TMM, non NMM
I love your work, this just popped up in my suggestion feed even though I'm already a sub. And I just got some of these figures, the algorithm works in strange ways.
As always, incredible work, craftsmanship and teaching :) You really should have a much bigger audience here, I think I've learned more from you than any other. Maybe Hobby Cheating is a contender :) If you ever travel to Sweden, after the plague is over, I would love to attend a course led by you! Stay safe!
Very interested in that speed painting video! It's one of my biggest problems, i paint one mini in a squad or army in way too many hours and then fail to simplify the steps, so its either staying at ~8h per mini or i sop painting the squad
Hi Marco, love your content. Recently got some heavy body acrylics to start experimenting with on miniatures and I have had absolutely zero luck getting any kind of coverage or even getting them to be workable on the palette. I quickly got frustrated and swapped back to my GW pots. Do you have any quick tips for heavy body acrylics? Or would you consider making a video on using primarily heavy body acrylics for mini painting?
excellent figure painting marco!! i paint much infinity models but neeed so much time for my achivements (you can see this on my insta - same name as here). But i always have problems with the edgelining like you do. Wenn i take "shorter" brush, it drys out to fast, with a larger and longer brush the edge lining is to broad. you're my master (-: greetz maniac-eye
Hi Marco , long time watcher of the channel love your channel , looking at giving oil based paints a try any recommendations on which brands of paints to look at ? thanks
Hi! For proper oil painting the artist line of any brand works well; I like Gamblin, Schminke, Williamsburg, but I use mostly Winsor and Newton artist because of their general quality and reasonable prices and I can easy find them in my local art shops. If you plan to use them mostly for weathering and washes you can move to student lines that are less pigmented and easier to manage for that kind of applications
Marco, whilst I think of it, have you ever thought about doing another airbrushing tutorial around how to practice with the airbrush? Like, did you practice lines, working with distances etc, prior to working on models? do you have a practice routine? Cheers mate
I don't have a practice routine! Our use of the airbrush is extremely specific, very different from its general use and it changes dramatically with every model. The best practice is to use it on real figures! I think that kind of exercises is useful for total beginners when they take the first airbrush out of the box, but after that I always suggest to just paint!
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM thanks man! Yeah I basically have never really practiced with it other than like you said first out of the box. Although, I was hoping you had some sort montage set to 'Eye of the Tiger'
Bellissimo video!!! Super complimenti!!!
Ah I love to hear "HELLO GUYS" so much :D Though i'd like to ask a question on heavy body acrylic for miniature painting. Is it better to start from artist acrylic like liquitex or it's better to jump into scale artist line? I'm not sure if i'd like to work with heavy body, so not sure what to buy without paying much from what i've seen in your videos - scalecolor artist, liquitex or golden heavy body starter? Would be great to hear your opinion! Thanks!~
😁😁😁 If you want to do your first experiments with an heavy body consistency I would suggest Scale75 Artist. They are specifically made for miniatures so more user friendly thanks to their high opacity, general covering power and mat finish. Plus they are cheaper than any Golden or Liquitex tube! Start with black, white, magenta, primary yellow and primary blue and make some mixing and painting experiments. In the worst case scenario you end up with five colours that are always useful in a way or another!
