Loved watching Greg have his best day on the water at my hometown lake. Pinkston continues to produce- but in the 1980's the fishing was phenomenal. Back then it was a world class trophy fishing reservoir created by TPWD biologists. They stocked & introduced a gene pool of Florida Hybrids called F-1's. Along w/stocking 1000's of bass TPWD, also stocked about 100 special "Monster Bass" brood fish in Pinkston weighing 4-8 lbs. to breed w/the other bass stocked there and introduce these special genes to the entire population of bass at Pinkston. One of these brood fish was later caught and became a TX State Record at 16.9 lbs. in 1986. Another giant caught - which was the 2nd largest caught from Pinkston for several years, was my PB of 14.02 lbs. caught a few weeks after the record fish. We've (Dad & me) caught 20+ bass over 8 lbs. from Pinkston w/5- 10+'s, including 2- 12+er's in the mix (1 of those 12's on a buzzbait!). All the giants like that are now gone from Pinkston, but an excellent population of 8-10 lb.ers (maybe a few 12's?) are still swimming around out on this little 750 ac. City of Center Water Supply Reservoir just waiting to be caught. Please practice Catch & Release. Pinkston is a near perfect kayaking lake! I know every inch of it -10 times over. Please help us take care of our little gem hidden deep the Piney Woods of east Texas. T

Some other youtuber try really hard to be too cool. I have fished many lakes in Texas and Cali and it is fun to see them again. Thanks for providing a needed escape.

I am. The camera technique is terrific too. I have always been terrible at fishing and I started watching your videos and realized I was doing a lot of things wrong. I fish for Stripers in the ocean inlets in CT mostly but now with a fishing kayak, I can hit a lot of hard to reach Freshwater lakes.

I like your videos because you're someone just like me. I don't have endless rods and reels. I work 4 10's and get 3 days to fish. I have a tiny Jon boat I retrofitted into a flat top Bass boat. the one thing I'm jealous about you, is I live in Spokane, Washington so we don't even get Bass that big very often. I really want to come down to Texas or Alabama or Georgia some time and fish down there. but I love your videos Greg keep them coming

I totally understand that. 40 hour work weeks and excessive amount of fishing aren't easy to come by especially if you have other obligations such as family, etc. I try to get out at least once a week and create/upload a video. You should look into a mini vacation to one of those states, maybe get a guided trip and fish the rest of the week based of what you were shown. Thanks for watching man!

Hi Greg. I'm just curious about your East Texas year(s). I grew up there near Nacogdoches. I have fished every river, creek, and lake within an hour's driving distance of Lufkin/Nacogdoches.......except Lake Pinkston. I plan to return soon and I will make it a point to fish that little lake now that I have watched this video. How long were you in that area and did you fish Rayburn or Toledo Bend at all while there? Great footage.

Any tips for fishing the chatter bait? I've had limited success with one. However, I did hook a 30# flat head with one in my Vide Sea Ghost this week. He took me for a ride. Great videos!!
Thanks man! I would fish it around grass and preferably in cloudy conditions with a little chop on the water. Just dedicate time throwing it with those conditions and you should be able to catch some and gain confidence and skill with it!

You ever think about trying for the pro circuit? The bass you catch...you'd limit out within a few hours. I know its a grind to get in with MLF but man you have the knowledge and skills for sure.
can i use a canoe instead of a kayak for the tourney-x??? I am a big guy and with my camping equipment the load limits of these less expensive kayaks are a concern, So is comfort,
